For Goodness Sake...

Good morning!

It's review preview day over on the CCD blog and we are shining the spotlight on the different animal stamps that were added this month. For my card I used a couple of the kittens from the Sweet November Midnight's Christmas set. I fussy cut the one with the ornaments so that I had just the kitty with his paw up and once I paired him with his pal there it looked like he was saying, "Hey! Save some milk for me!". LOL!
It was too cute of an idea not to pursue so I totally rolled with it and made the entire card into one big scene. The window die from Memory Box helped create the look of a quaint Christmas kitchen overlooking a snowy neighborhood and the Doodlebug papers even had those cute frames that I fussy cut and 'hung' on the wall. Mr. Tabby and Mr. Calico look right at home here if you ask me.

Ok, don't forget to check out the CCD blog for all sorts of warm and fuzzy inspiration from my teamies today. And all of the November stamps can of course be found right here in the CCD store! :)

Holiday Hello...

Hey there!

I just got this sweet little Beanie Ian in the mail on Saturday and I couldn't wait to ink him up for a fun Christmas card. As luck would have it, the Farm Fresh challenge this week is snow... thus I found a Christmas paper pad with a great snowflake print just so I could play along. It's another My Mind's Eye daily deal special that I snapped up last year so I'm down to only 15 more paper pads left to use on cards this season... yeah! I really like the grey and brown with the pops of bright Christmas colors, very boyish looking which suits Ian to a 'T'. :)

Hmmm... as I'm looking at him sitting there with his big mug of cocoa I'm wondering if there is time to make myself some this morning. Yep, I'm going to do it... time to hunt down that Swiss Miss, LOL!

Later gators!

Christmas in the heart...

Howdy folks!

I've got a long day ahead of me so I'm gonna keep this post short and sweet. This is a Nellie Snellen stamp that I've had for quite a while but kept putting off coloring for one reason or another. She's Dawn Sharing a Biscuit and while I think this scene is super cute it was also a bit intimidating with all the coloring involved to complete it. Since I was already relaxing yesterday I took my time and just enjoyed the process. I didn't cut into one of my awaiting Christmas paper pads but I did use up some scraps which is just as good if you ask me. ;)

Well, I should get a move on. Take care and have a great day!

Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and Copic X-Press It

Sending Christmas Cheer...

Olo!

Whew, I've finally got a day off to relax and re-charge a bit before the hustle and bustle of the upcoming holiday week gets into full swing.  And since we are still experiencing this arctic blast I can't think of anything better than to spend some quality time in my crafty room. There are still a few areas I want to sort through and organize better so hopefully I get that all done before making a card or two.

Today's card features the Snowball Tia digital stamp from Some Odd Girl as well as some new Christmas papers. New Christmas papers you say? I know, I know... I'm supposed to be using the paper pads I already have, and I was doing so good too. But I was weak and couldn't help but add some new October Afternoon Eggnog to my stash. At least I'm cutting into it within a few days of getting my hands on it though. ;)

Alrighty, I'm outta here. Take it easy peeps!

Supply list:

Merry Christmas to all...

Good morning!

Thanks everyone for all the sweet birthday wishes yesterday. It was a low key kind of celebration with my closest peeps, which is just how I like it. So a great day was had for sure. :)
Julye asked for the peppermint cheesecake recipe and we actually found it on Pinterest so here is a link for anyone interested in giving it a try. If you are a fan of peppermint then I highly recommend it this holiday season!

Alrighty, so this Christmas card is looking a bit different from the others I've made so far. The colors are definitely not your traditional red and green but I had this Winterland paper pad that I needed to cut into and cross off my list. The pretty pastels had me reaching for my Lili of the Valley stamps and this trio of darling angels where just what I needed to bring it all together. I used the Memory Box snow globe die to give the angels a home and instead of the gold accents I've been addicted to lately, I decided to change things up a bit and use silver thread instead.

Ok then, if you are experiencing the same cold snap that I am (overnight lows of 11 degrees and daytime highs in the mid thirties) then bundle up and have a great Friday!

TTFN!

Be Jolly...

Hello there friends!

It's my birthday today and while I'll be working for most of it I do think I'll probably go out afterwards to celebrate with some friends. Though I can't stay out too late because then I'd miss the to-die-for delicious peppermint cheesecake that my sis is making for me. I tell ya... I'm feeling the love!  :)

So I've got another wonky card to share but this time the tilt was intentional from the start. Little Elf Finn was needing some ink and a card to shine on and I thought the tilted look would work really well to help convey the motion of that little guy swinging on the ornament. The papers are an older Making Memories 8x8 pad that I cut into and can now cross off my list... three down, 17 to go. LOL! As always, I pulled my copic colors from the papers so that Finn would match nicely. I kept the embellishing to a minimum with just a bit of gold washi tape and a sprinkle of gold die cut stars. I will admit that I have totally fallen in love with the current gold trend, especially in my crafty supplies. ;)

Ok then, time for me to scoot. Have a good one!

Happy Holidays...

Hello again!

It's review preview day over on the CCD blog and we are shining the spotlight on the newest additions to the CC Designs family. For my card I used the darling Fuzzy Boots Birgitta and have her sitting on the new Snowy Wall scene builder stamp. I'm still doing good with my goal to cut into all my Christmas paper pads... this one is Winter Tortellini from Jillibean Soup and it gave me such a fun color palette to play around with. The little touches of pink really suit Birgitta as she rests from all her winter play just outside her happy neighborhood. Can you believe there are absolutely no embellishments on this card? It must be having that wall there because once I got it and Birgitta onto the card base I just couldn't think of anything else that wouldn't detract from the scene if I added it.

Don't forget to check out the CCD blog for loads of winter inspiration from my teamies today. There is all sorts of cuteness going on! :)

Warmest Wishes...

Hi there!

Sunday I managed to gather all my Christmas 6x6 and 8x8 paper pads together and I'm embarrassed to admit that there were more than I thought. I do have to give myself a pat on the back because over half of them had been cut into and used but there were still about 20 that hadn't been used yet.  (>-<)  Oy!

So now I'm on a mission to use all 20 of those paper pads at least once before Christmas gets here. First to get checked off that list is this Christmas Wish pad by My Mind's Eye that I'm pretty sure I picked up from a daily deal site last year. That plaid with the cute stitching detail had me thinking boy card. Luckily I also had this sweet Cocoa Cuddles stamp still waiting to get on a card so it was a match made in stamping heaven. I didn't want to over embellish these two little buddies so a single ornament shaped button was all it took to complete this simple card.

Okey dokey, I'm outta here... take it easy!  :)

Hello, Santa...

Good Monday morning to ya!

So these adorable little penguins were part of the November release over at CC Designs and I've been anxious to get them inked up and on a card. They have such a happiness to them that I wanted my card to be bright and fun and playful. I cleaned out my bag of Christmas paper scraps yesterday and pulled everything on here from it so it's quite the random mix of papers. But I like how those colors really pop against all the black accents... who knew that the chalkboard trend would work so perfectly with penguins, LOL! :)

Ok, I really should get myself ready for work now.
Later gators!

Christmas time in the city...

Hello, hello!

Well it has gotten pretty darn cold around here but so far we have managed to avoid any snowfall. Everyone I talk to says that we are supposed to be getting a lot of snow this year but I'm trying to remain optimistic. In the meantime there isn't much else for me to do but hunker down in the crafty room with my ongoing Operation Organization, LOL! I'm going to tackle those 6x6 paper pads today if it kills me!  ;)

So my card today came about because I didn't stamp my image straight at all. I knew I needed to leave Fifi Goes Shopping on the cardstock because there was no way I was fussy cutting them out but it was so crooked I was either going to have to cut it down to straighten it out or stamp it again. But then I remembered a very CAS card I had seen on Pinterest recently that had a large panel tilted on the front of it. So I thought why not try that wonky design to save my image and let me tell you, it turned out so fun looking! Doesn't it kinda add to the whole cool, city vibe that Fifi and her friend have going on? This is just more proof that Bob Ross was right... there are no mistakes, just happy accidents. :)

I shall leave it at that and bid you adieu until tomorrow!

Merry Christmas...

Olo!

I didn't get as much done yesterday as I had hoped. I didn't make it to the 6x6 pads but I did get a big box of stuff together which I donated to my neighbor. She works with elementary school kids and they are always happy for new supplies so that felt pretty good. Hopefully I can get back to organizing tomorrow. :)

Alrighty, I got a card made for this week's FFF challenge over at The Greeting Farm using a couple of oldies but goodies. The challenge is to cut it out and since I don't have a Cricut or Cameo machine I just went ahead and fussy cut Wild Sprout Vivi out which allowed me to do a bit of altering and slip a cookie from the Merry Tags set into her arms. She is such a bright and happy little elf that I just had to pair her up with this fun Doodlebug paper. Now it looks like Vivi is taking a quick break from the toy assembly line to munch on one of Mrs. Claus' Christmas cookies.

Ok then, time for me to scoot my boot. Enjoy your weekend!

Peace and joy...

Hi-dee-ho stampers!

TGIF and can you believe I have the day off?! I plan to spend the entire day crafting and organizing my crafty room. Lisa actually inspired me with a post she did about re-organizing all her 6x6 paper pads by theme rather than company and I want to do the same thing. I've already been working on getting all of my 12x12 Christmas and Halloween papers together which is quite a process but I'm being reacquainted with sheets that I'd forgotten about and all sorts of inspiration has hit me! Now it is time to do the same with the unruly hoard of 6x6 pads that stare at my back while I try to get work done, LOL!

All that paper and my card today only uses the front cover sheet of the Mistletoe Magic collection by My Mind's Eye. I know I've mentioned it before but when I put these collections away I can never bring myself to throw away the cover sheets with all the little prints lined up on them. So even if it isn't cutting into those papers I am glad to get this used up and on a card. In fact, the rows of prints kinda reminded me of a cozy quilt which for some reason had me reaching for my Gorjuss Girl stamps. Winter Wonder hadn't seen ink yet so she was just the girly to pull this card all together.

Well, I guess I should go tackle that pile of paper pads.

Warmest winter wishes...

Good morning!

I can't remember that last time I inked up a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp and that is such a shame because I love these crazy eyed cuties so much. Now that I'm thinkin' about it, the Moonlight Whispers stamps being on hiatus all these months is probably a big reason why I've neglected using them more... out of sight, out of mind and all that jazz. But since I was going to be using one on my card I decided to check out the KK blog to see if there was a challenge going on that I could play in and while I was there I saw a little sneak peek for Saturday's release and I am SO excited! The Moonlight Whispers are back and I can't wait to see all the new stamps!

As for my card, I did a head swap using Eva's winter garbed body and Krista's sweet face and high ponytail. I also snipped the snow shovel away and adjusted her arm down a bit to rest more on her hip. Now this little snow bunny is looking all warm and cozy which is exactly what this week's challenge is. :)

Alrighty chicas, I'm off to get this day started... have a good one!

Be your best elf...

Hey there!

I'm jumping in real quick to share a card that I made for this month's SOG challenge to use speech bubbles. I've been wanting to play with my Kaylee's Closet set again for a while now so I challenged myself to give her a winter outfit without using the actual Winter Warmth coat ensemble. It wasn't too bad... I just got the capri pants to line up with the boots and I drew in an extra shirt layered underneath her hoodie but when I wanted a slouchy hat to add to her bundled up look I had to grab a pen and draw one from scratch. I added some texture to it with an old Prima screen looking stamp and it turned out pretty good, though all this work had me longing for some new Kaylee's Closet stamps... most especially long pants, longer dresses, and a Mae or Gwen version in that same pose. Fingers crossed! ;)

To really drive home the Christmas theme I borrowed a present from the Deer Mae set and drew in a new hand to hold it after tucking it into the crook of Kaylee's arm. Now this little girlie really is enjoying being her very best elf this holiday season. :)

Well, I've gotta get a move on.

Happy holidays...

Olo!

Today my mom and I are heading to town for the November Hallmark Open House. I don't think I have anything on my list anymore but there is a Peanuts nativity that Mom is really hoping to get her hands on for a good deal. Even if I don't find anything it will still be a fun trip... just so long as the snow stays away for a bit longer. :)

So today's card is for the Farm Fresh Challenge over on the TGF blog. It is to use washi tape on your card and since I just got this cool OA chalkboard looking Christmas washi recently it was a great excuse to tear into it. That lead to me finally trying my hand at the chalkboard stamping technique with the Rudolph Headlines stamp and I'm pleased with how it turned out. Once I had that all done I needed a cutie to be heading into the reindeer show so I did a bit of altering and used Wild Sprout Gracie's head (minus the pigtails) with Wild Sprout Gigi's body. I love how her sweater dress looks with that jaunty cap, now she's all dressed up for the winter weather.

Okey dokey, thanks for stopping by... I'll catch ya on the flip side!

We've got a Christmas winner!

Happy Saturday friends!

It's time to announce the winner of this month's Sweet November release!

Not a creature was stirring...

TGIF everybody!

Our weather has finally turned and there is snow low on the surrounding hills. It's only a matter of time now before I'll be stuck driving in the white stuff. Hopefully my car will be up to the task, it is a big reason why I got a Subaru after all... everyone told me that they are great winter cars.

Speaking of winter, I've got another Christmas card to share today and it is one that I've been brainstorming for quite some time now. This past year Sister Stamps has been slowly releasing the twelve Chinese zodiac animals and as soon as I saw the Year of the Rat I thought he looked more like a cute little mouse and that got me to thinking about the Christmas verse, "Twas the night before Christmas...". So of course this card had to be the first I made with this darling little stamp. It seems that Christmas mice where also on the minds of the designers over at October Afternoon this year too because they just released a stamp set called Merry Mouse as part of their Silent Night collection. Personally I think the Sister Stamps mouse is much cuter but I did borrow that sprig of mistletoe from Merry Mouse to add to his little paws. Now not only is this mouse stirring, but it looks like he is on a mission to get a Christmas kiss, LOL!  ;)

Alrighty stampers, have a great day and a wonderful weekend. I'll see you back here tomorrow with a winner of the Midnight's Christmas candy!

Joy & Wonder...

Hello, hello!

I'm excited to have a card for the Flutter By challenge today. Once I start making Christmas cards there aren't as many opportunities to have a fairy or butterfly on them but I recently found this cute digi stamp from Sugar Nellie so I decided to play along. She is called Elf Made Magic and I think she is too cute for words. While I wish she was an actual rubber stamp I will admit that it was nice to not wait a couple weeks to have her arrive in the mail. :)

This week's challenge is to use the color brown on your card so I searched out the MME Lost & Found paper pad from last year because I love the color combo in it which includes a very dark brown. Of course I colored her up to match and even added a touch of gold to the mix for good measure. I also stamped in a little village scene to help ground her in the foreground. Perfect Pearls substituted for a gentle snowfall and I finished off the card design with some strips of paper that I trimmed into pennants and an old epoxy brad from my stash.

Well I guess I should go do the hair and makeup thing before heading off to work.
TTFN!

Christmas mischief and some candy!

Up at the North Pole in Santa's Christmas village, Mrs. Claus has a new furry friend to keep her company during Santa's busy day away. It may seem strange to name a snow white kitten Midnight, but being at the top of the world they see their share of midnight sunshine and Mrs. Claus has always had a sense of humor. And Midnight is quite mischievous, keeping Mrs. Claus and all those elves on their toes.

They can't forget to hang the fragile glass ornaments higher on the trees otherwise Midnight is right there to bat and swat at the entertaining baubles until they fall and break. Oh and don't' even think about leaving wrapped packages out before Christmas eve because Midnight will waste no time tearing into those pretty papers just to play with the ribbons and hide inside the boxes. When she works up an appetite, Midnight will sneak into the kitchen looking for Santa's plate of cookies and glass of milk to pilfer. She may try to be careful but you just know that that milk will be all over the table before you can bat an eye. And when she finally gets a bit sleepy, Midnight heads into the bedroom but it isn't the bed she is looking for... nope, only one of Santa's extra hats will do for her to curl up and cat nap on. Despite all the trouble she gets into everyone in the workshop loves and adores this little Christmas kitty.

And you will love the candy she has to share too, take a look...
The Midnight's Christmas candy kit includes; Sweet November Midnight's Christmas rubber stamp set, ten 6x6 sheets of Echo Park 'Tis the Season paper, Prima flowers, Kaiser Craft pearls, ribbon, twine, buttons, Studio Calico wood veneer stars, four envelopes, four card blanks and my card.

All you have to do for a chance to win the candy is leave a comment on this post. If you link to the candy on your own blog that is great and much appreciated but not a requirement... I want everyone to be able to play along. And when I say everyone, I mean everyone. I will ship the candy anywhere in the world so everyone is encouraged to play! :) The candy will stay open through Friday, November 8th and I will announce the winner on Saturday, November 9th.

Now you'll want to head on over to the Sweet November Gal blogs. Nancy and Tress both have Christmas cuteness overload going on today! :)
Instead of using random generator I will be printing out names and tossing them in a hat SO if you leave a comment for the SN Gals on their blogs, you will get an extra name in the hat... this will up your chances of winning the candy. Fun, fun, fun!

Well, that's all there is to this one and done SN November sneak peek. There are more previews over on the CCD blog today with another chance to comment and win so don't miss that as well! Merry and bright...

Hello, hello!

This card is just a fun excuse to finally color up Holiday Anya 3 who has been patiently awaiting ink for quite some time now. The papers are Heidi Swapp Believe and that great sentiment was part of it. To play off the 'bright' reference I added the bling star to her hair and then the bling border for even more sparkle and shine. It's definitely a quickie CAS design but I think it makes quite an impact. :)

I'm thinking of taking some time and stamping up a bunch of my Christmas images all at once, printing out any digis too, so that I can quickly see at a glance what I have to work with for this upcoming holiday season. It would definitely let me see how many I have yet to use so that I can finally get them crossed off my list. I'll let you know how that goes if I actually get around to it today.

Later gators!
