TGIF everybody!
Sad to say but Target was a complete bust yesterday. I searched the store high and low but in the end it looks like I'll be placing an order online instead. Oh well, at least the rest of the trip was better. :)
As for today's card, seeing as how I'd gotten both her brother and little sister on to cards I couldn't leave sweet Anuhea all by her lonesome. And it had to be now because I've got a plan to have all of my posts in June follow a very specific theme, which as cute as she is Anuhea just wouldn't fit into. So once again I stuck with the I Heart Summer papers from Simple Stories and went to town, LOL! These fun papers seemed to go hand in hand with these fun stamps for me... so quick, so easy, and I love the results.
Ok time for me to go get ready, big day ahead and I've got to get moving.
Have a great weekend and I'll see y'all Monday! :)

Good morning!
Today I am off to Cle Elum to help my sister transport some of the foster dogs that she watches. It's nice to spend time with her just hanging out and chatting but I've also got an ulterior motive to do a bit of shopping on the way there before we pick up the pups. I've got a couple things I want to look for at Target and since the closest one to me is an hour away this is the perfect opportunity. ;)
So I couldn't resist making another Sister Stamps sno-cone cuties card today, this time featuring Ekahi. Originally he was sucking his ice through a straw but since I have never had a sno-cone with a straw I decided to do a bit of altering and wipe it away before stamping, then I just drew in a smile on his face with a black mulitliner pen. To keep things cohesive I even used papers from the same collection as yesterday, those bright colors totally say 'summer' to me. :)
Ok, time to get ready for the big road trip.
Later gators!

Mornin' folks!
The temps are supposed to start creepin' up to the mid nineties by the weekend and that has got me in a summertime frame of mind. So of course my cards are bound to reflect my longing for warmer weather.
I thought that little Leilani here from Sister Stamps would be a funny way to get the party started. Poor girlie has gone and dropped her sno-cone... awww. When I found this sheet of paper in the I Heart Summer collection I thought it was a message that Leilani needed to hear. Unless it was that warm sunshine melting her ice... guess I didn't think that all the way through. LOL! Oh well, silver lining is that with a spilled sno-cone you get to pick all new flavors when you go and get a new one. ;)
Ok, time for me to mosey.
Smooches!

Olo!
Today I am playing along in the Farm Fresh challenge to "put a bow on it". I decided to go fun and flirty with my card so Creepin Crew Desiree from the Twisted set was the gal for the job. Since summer is right around the corner I paired her up with one of my favorite papers from the Simple Stories Good Day Sunshine collection. The bright colors against that dark wood grain just make me happy and from the look of things they make Desiree pretty happy too. :)
I guess that's it. Sorry to post and run but I've got a lot to do today... busy, busy, busy!

Hello, hello!
It's been a breezy but beautiful Memorial Day weekend here but it's not a long one for me. I'm back to work today but that's alright because it should be a pretty darn good day.
My card today is for this week's sketch challenge over on the MFT challenge blog. I used the Sunflower Sweetheart set to create most of the components that follow the sketch design. I've actually had these stamps for about a year now and I can't believe it took me this long to ink them up... talk about fun to color. :)
Ok, I guess I should get moving.

TGIF!
I went in a different direction with my card today... there are no pattern papers, no embellishments anywhere in sight. Instead I started with this kinda scenic outdoor stamp from Lili of the Valley called 'Midsummer's Night' and just expanded on it to create the entire card design. First I added a few extra stars to the sky and then I started coloring that sky before doing anything else. I don't have an airbrush system so instead I grabbed a variety of markers and started with the lightest at ground level and worked my way darker as I went up the page. Once I had a pretty good blend between colors I then grabbed a bit of terry cloth and my bottle of colorless blender to add a bit of soft, diffused texture which helped to hide any areas that were not blended quite as well. Once the background was dry I had an idea that I wanted to try so i grabbed a q-tip and saturated it with colorless blender dropping the solution onto each of the large stars which gave them that glowing halo effect. I have to admit that all this playing around with the blender solution had me feeling pretty darn creative. ;)
Ok friends, be safe this long holiday weekend and have fun!

Good morning!
I've got a new-to-me stamp company that I'm using for the first time today with this sweet Lil' Jaxon pup from Whipper Snapper Designs. I stumbled across a card on Pinterest that featured Jaxon and I couldn't resist tracking him down and adding a handful of their adorable animal stamps to my collection. When it came time to color him up I decided to add a few extra spots so that I could turn Jaxon into a Dalmatian puppy... what a cutie! He does have a bit of a concerned look about him though so that is why I used the 'ruff day' sentiment, it just seemed to fit. I didn't need much else to finish off my card, that fun collar print paper from Bo Bunny and a small epoxy heart sticker pulled it all together. ;)
Alrighty then, thanks for stopping by today and I'll see ya tomorrow! :)

Hey there!
I recently took advantage of a sale over at Tiddly Inks and got my hands on this fabulous Willow Fairy stamp and a couple of her friends. She arrived in my mailbox this past weekend and I just had to get her on a card right away. So I inked Willow up and decided to check out the current Tiddly Inks challenge before getting started on my card. The theme is 'May Flowers' which is nice and broad so of course I'm going to play along. I know that the print on the paper I pulled is technically dandelions but hey, one person's weed is another person's flower... LOL! Seriously, my backyard is full of the little yellow blossoms no matter what I do so I'm counting it as a May flower. ;)
Alrighty, time for me to mosey. I've got one day off and hopefully enough hours to get everything I need to get done, done.

Good morning!
I recently got the Feathers and Fur set from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps during a Frugal Friday special, mostly for the images with the cat and dog. So imagine my surprise when the first one making it on to a card is the little gal who had a parrot on her head. I didn't want the parrot as part of my card design though so I did a bit of altering to wipe the bird's feet off her head and the biscuit out of her hand then just drew in the missing line and some new waving fingers. With some fussy cutting she is now a generically pretty little summertime beauty. I paired her up with these bright Sunny Day papers by Pebbles and pulled all of the happy colors that I used in the rest of the card from them. I even branched out from my usual black sentiment ink and went for some orange and yellow... whoa! ;)
And I'm entering this card into the 'anything goes' challenge that is currently running.
TTYL! :)

Hello and happy Monday to you!
So this week's Farm Fresh challenge over at TGF is 'embossing' and I totally had a couple of embossing folders all picked out and ready to use for my card. In fact I even did one up in a brick wall pattern which led me to choose Thomas from the Creepin' Crew Twisted set because it looked very masculine and he was a good fit. But as I was coloring Thomas up and thinking about how I would put the card together I kept getting drawn back to my stash of patterned paper. At first I was just thinking about how I could incorporate it in with the embossed background but once I found this car paper I couldn't help but go in an entirely different direction. So the brick wall was abandoned and Thomas, who in my opinion kinda looks like a little Bruno Mars mini-me, got a cool hot rod instead, LOL! To make my card still work for the challenge I ended up using white embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment on that dark background. What can I say? I'm just a pattern paper junkie. ;)
Ok, I'm off to another fun filled work day.
Later gators!

It's Friday, it's Friday!
I hope everyone is excited for another wonderful weekend. I'll be working the next two days but I don't mind because today should be a pretty great work day and I'm already looking forward to it. :)
As for my card today, I've altered a Gorjuss Girl called The Fox, by wiping away the ears from her head band and cutting away the fox tail. I figured this made her a bit more universal and I could focus more on the star theme that her dress provided. As for the stars, you can see I really ran with that one, LOL! Paper, stickers, dies... heck, even the sentiment, all very matchy matchy. I used another one of the Hero Arts ombre ink pads, the blue one this time, and I can't tell you enough how much I LOVE them! So cool, so pretty, I'm going to have a hard time not collecting all of the colors. ;)
Anywho, I'm also entering this card into the current Sugar Bowl challenge so wish me luck!
Have fun and I'll see ya Monday! :)

Hi ya!
Just a quick post today as I am already running behind...
There is a new challenge over at the ADFD blog and I am joining the fun with my card today. It is an inspiration board with the theme of 'Fairy Princess Love' and the pretty mix of pinks, blues, and purples had me reaching for an old Basic Grey paper pad that was perfect. And this sweet Little Dancer Two digi stamp seemed just as perfect too. She isn't technically a fairy princess but I went ahead and punched a small butterfly out of vellum and gave this Little Dancer a sparkly pair of wings. She's definitely got some magic up her sleeve now. ;)
Ok, time for me to get a move on.
Hasta manana! :)

Hey there!
Today I am playing along in the Kraftin' Kimmie 'Pretty in Pink' challenge and I chose to ink up the lovely Tatiana stamp for it. Right off the bat I knew that her fabulous hair had to be the pink I used for the challenge and it couldn't be any soft pastel pink either. No, Tatiana looks like a gal with attitude to spare so she needed a bright and bold shade of pink hair to match. I did a bit of altering by simply gluing some small flowers over the mirror that she is originally holding because I figured a bouquet of flowers fit the theme of the card better.
The paper is actually just one sheet, with the bold black and white stripes on one side and the bright floral print on the opposite side. Once I settled on using both this card really came to life. It had me giving Tatiana a black leather corset and choker which I think really gives her a cool, edgy look. And the die cut frame was just what I needed to help her stand out from that busy background. :)
Well, that's all I've got for the day... talk at'cha later!

Hello, hello!
So this adorable little SSSC girly arrived in my mailbox on Saturday and I couldn't wait to ink her up and get her on a card. Her name is Poppy and she is the newest addition to the Gloomsberry Charm School collection at TGF. I'm a big fan of these new characters with their wide, crazy eyes and big personalities... and Poppy here just may be my most favorite one yet.
I paired Poppy with this wonderful floral print by Doodlebug because I love how the bright colors pop against that kraft background. And something about her outfit had me envisioning Poppy pulling on her rain boots and tromping through the garden after a spring rain. The smile sentiment was totally chosen because of her goofy li'l grin... hey, it makes me smile! :)
I'm also going ahead and entering this card into the Farm Fresh "Flowers" challenge since it had an extended two week deadline and this certainly fits. ;)
Alrighty then, take it easy and I'll see ya again tomorrow!

Good morning!
I hope all you lovely mothers out there had a wonderful weekend and a fabulous Mother's Day yesterday. My mom and I enjoyed a quick little trip into town where we did a bit of shopping and treated ourselves to some yummy food. My mom is my best friend and I am lucky enough to live close and see her all the time but it still felt good to do something a bit special for her day. :)
Moving on to my card for today, I've paired Wink Mae up with this cool TV die that I got from Simon Says Stamp. Mae is a 'big head' stamp in that the image is only head and shoulders but she isn't really that big. Which is the reason why I decided to have her star in her own TV show. When I got her I was thinking the stamp was larger and would be much more substantial on the card. I should have known better though, because the set also comes with a frame stamp. Honestly, I would have much preferred a bigger head and then a frame wouldn't even be necessary. Oh well, at least I had an excuse to break out this tv die that has been just itchin' to get on a card, LOL! And I had just the right sentiment set to bring this card all together. ;)
Later gators!

Happy Friday everybody!
The annual Apple Blossom Festival here in my home town is tomorrow and it is shaping up to be a beautiful weekend for it. I'll miss the parade because of work but hopefully catch some of the other activities later in the afternoon.
Totes Anya here looks like she is ready to enjoy some outdoor festivities herself. Yep, I think she is about to hop on that fancy bike and and enjoy a ride to the park on a sun shiny afternoon. The papers are just a mix of scraps that I thought created a pretty pastel background and color palette for Anya. Then I die cut some tiny flowers and sprinkled them around her so that I could enter this card into the FFF 'flowers' challenge.
Ok, time for me to scoot. Take care and have a fabulous weekend! :)

Olo!
Well I couldn't very well make a card with Cupcake Henry and not make a card with Cupcake Nancy too! So here is the counterpart to yesterday's card and it even uses the girlie version of those Doodlebug birthday papers. The papers had an interesting color combo with that grey being thrown into the usual mix but I kinda like it. So I ended up giving Nancy light grey pants to match and then kept the rest of her outfit nice and bright. She got the same candle glow treatment as Henry did and it does show up a bit better in this pic but I promise it is much more dramatic in person. All in all another fun birthday card to add to the stash and hopefully bring a smile to someones face someday. :)
Now I've got a day off to enjoy but first are all the chores that I've been neglecting this week. If only laundry and the dishes would magically wash themselves... oh, how a girl can dream! LOL ;)

Hello there!
It's been a while since I've made a boy card and yesterday I was in the mood to put one together. So I grabbed Cupcake Henry from Roberto's Rascals and went to town. He's so fun and looks so happy, I can't believe that it took me so long to ink him up! I wanted the colors of this card to be bright and playful so I headed straight for my stash of Doodlebug papers. And I found just what I was looking for... love, love, love that stripe print it really adds a wonderful energy to the design. Of course I colored Henry up to match and I even gave him some cool candle glow by adding a bit of Y02 to his hair, face, and arm but it didn't pick up all that well in my photo, bummers. Still, it is a pretty cool looking card in real life and I can't wait to send it to some special birthday boy. :)
Another day, another dollar... guess I should go get ready for work.
TTYL! :)

Hi-ya!
I made today's card to join in the current Tiddly Inks challenge, 'So Sweet'. I had this raspberry paper from Jillibean Soup and wanted to pair it with this small canning jar die from Memory Box. Then I grabbed my Peachy Pixie rubber stamp, which is technically from Stamping Bella, but the digi version is available in the Tiddly Inks store. I cut her away from the branch she is originally sitting on and placed Peachy on my sentiment strip instead. Sure she is tiny but it totally looks like she is enjoying some sweet raspberry jam... yummm! ;)
Alrighty, I'll see y'all again tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by! :)

I got a new stamp during a sale last week and I couldn't wait to ink her up for my card today. She's called 'Make a Wish' from Penny Black and talk about being fun to color... especially that hair. I even played around with a new color combo to get that strawberry blonde look, which I'm quite pleased with. Because she is a fairly large stamp it didn't leave much room for layers of papers and embellishments even though I went with a larger A6 size card. So I went clean and simple with just a single strip of pretty paper across the top and I cheated with the stitching by cutting a tiny strip from a piece of stitched cardstock. Love the added detail without the added work, LOL!
Ok, Monday morning means back to work so I should get a move on.
Later gators! :)

Happy Friday, happy May Day!
I needed a fairly quick stamp to color up yesterday and when I found this Miss Anya in my stack of pre-stamped images I knew she was just the gal for the job. She is from the Summer set and is the last of these three Miss Anyas to find her way on to a card. My other crafty motivation was to use this cool Hero Arts ombre ink pad as well. So I found a nice, bold sentiment and went to town. I'm a sucker for anything ombre so this ink makes me all kinds of happy... love it! Pairing orange with teal is one of my all time fave color combos so I found this polka dot print and then proceeded to give Miss Summer a matching ensemble. I think this card definitely has a fun and youthful vibe perfect for a young lady enjoying a summer birthday. :)
And now I should go get ready for the day. Take care and I shall be back Monday with my ever continuing adventures in card making. LOL ;)
