Happy Easter part deux...

Olo!

So yesterday I shared my altered Easter Boy Bean and today I've got his little sister coming to join the festivities. As I mentioned, this alteration actually happened first and was as simple as wiping away her little belly button and the top of her skirt to turn Glisten Bean's outfit into an Easter dress as well as adding Easter Anya's rabbit ears. I had thought about using Glisten for my Boy Bean but decided that even though the bangs worked I would have to change the back of the hair and that was more work than I wanted to do at the time. So here she is in all her Easter sweetness, still a girly girl, but that might change in the future... bwahahahaha

And I figure I might as well enter this card into the Farm Fresh Easter challenge. With more of that great Easter Parade paper by Doodlebug she sure fits in.  ;)

Ok, time to get ready for work.
Later gators!

Happy Easter...

Hello fellow stampers!

I'm on the home stretch for Easter cards, what with the big day coming up this weekend. Luckily this week's Farm Fresh challenge over at TGF is all about Easter as well. I started off with an idea to alter a Bean stamp by adding Easter Anya's rabbit ears to her but then I was wishing I had a boy Bean so that I could change things up a bit. Sadly there aren't any boys though so I continued on with my first idea. But once I got her done I started looking at all of my Bean stamps and found a couple that with just a bit of tweaking could be altered into little Boy Beans fairly easily. So of course you know I had to give it a go. I grabbed Bright Bean and wiped away her clothes and eyelashes before stamping her then drew in a smart Easter outfit for my new Bean. I just colored him up and trimmed off the long braids when I fussy cut him out and viola! I'm so happy with how he turned out that I couldn't wait to share so my initial girly Bean alteration will have to wait 'til tomorrow.

I paired this spiffy little dude with more Doodlebug paper from the Easter Parade collection. I love it because one little piece of paper and I've got an entire card pretty much ready to go. All I had to add was my Bright Boy Bean, that 'happy' die and a few enamel sprinkles... oh, and Easter Anya's basket of eggs too. Now that I've done this alteration I'm dying for a few official Boy Beans to join the TGF family... fingers crossed! Who's with me?  :)

Ok, I'll see ya tomorrow with more Easter fun.

Happy Easter sweetie...

TGIF my friends!

I am so glad to have the day off today. It's been a busy couple of weeks and I have a lot of catching up to do around the house. And believe me when I say that the crafty room is going to be the biggest project of them all. I sound like such a broken record but it is in a dismal state and if I have any hope of doing any crafting in it next week it has to be cleaned and organized. Currently there is barely enough free space on my desk to even lay an A2 size card down and the floor is cluttered with stamp binders that I have gotten into and not put away... oy!

Anywho... of course I've got another Easter card to share today. It has been quite a while since I've played with a SOG image so I went in search of one that would work. I don't really have any of their Easter themed stamps so I knew I would have to get creative. Flipping through the digis I have printed out I came across Woodsy Mae and something about her got me excited. With the simple addition of an egg hidden behind the stump I could see Mae looking right at home on an Easter card. I pulled all my colors from one of my most favorite papers, Carta Bella's Cool Summer cloud print. Normally I use the cloud side of the paper but this time I changed things up a bit by using the chevron print on the B-side and then fussy cut a few of the clouds as embellishments instead. I really love how this all came together!  :)

Alrighty then, time to get busy cleaning and organizing. Wish me luck and I shall see ya on Monday!

Hoppy Easter...

Hi guys!

I'm really running behind this morning so I've got to make this post super quick. My card today is for the MFT sketch 221 challenge. I used one of the bunnies from the BB Somebunny set that I got this past weekend... talk about cute, cute, cute! One thing though, I was surprised that there isn't a single Easter sentiment that comes with the set. It's all good though 'cause I just paired this sweet bunny up with an Amy R sentiment that was the perfect size to fit in the little square with her. I did omit the sentiment strip from the original sketch because I didn't need it but otherwise I kept pretty true to the design plan.

Ok, time for me to 'hop' to it, LOL!

Somebunny loves you...

Olo!

So are you thinking "Second verse, same as the first"? Yep, not only do I have another Greeting Farm card to share with you today but it is another Bean card as well. I hadn't planned on making a second card for the 'Spring Colors' FFF challenge but when I was in the store yesterday getting links for my post I came across this Easter Bean digi and couldn't believe I had overlooked this cutie for all this time. So I made a quick purchase and printed her out right away. Originally the plan was to save her for a card next week but when my crafting time got super limited yesterday she was the quickest stamp I had ready to color up so I didn't fight it. More Doodlebug papers, because they always play nicely with my TGF stamps, and I had another sweet Easter card done.

Alrighty, I've got a long day ahead and I should go get myself ready for it.

A happy Easter to you...

Good morning!

Today I am playing along in the Spring Colors Farm Fresh Friday challenge over at TGF. I chose to ink up Hatter Bean because her hat reminded me of a crazy cute Easter bonnet. The Doodlebug paper that I paired up with her gave me a lot of color options to use and I think I used them all on that hat, LOL! She looks so proud of it though so ya gotta love her confidence. There isn't much else to this card but when you have a cute stamp and cute paper what else do you really need? ;)

Now I really do need to hit the shower and get ready for the day.
Later gators!  :)

Peep, peep...

Hi there!

I got some new stamps from Sugar Nellie over the weekend and I was very excited to ink them up and play a bit. They carry these cute Basik the cat stamps from the Scrapberry's range and while I love the kitty, the other little critters that are included in the sets are just as cute and can be the star of the show just as much as Basik. Which is what I did on this Easter card that I'm entering into the Sugar Bowl 'anything goes' challenge. I inked up five of the birdies from the Basik and Sparrow set and colored them up to look like baby chicks. I gave them a springtime scene to live in then kept the rest of the card super simple. Heck... even my sentiment is part of that great Bella Blvd paper that I'm using once again. :)

Well, I hope your week is off to a great start. I'm looking forward to a fun day at work today so I'm excited to get myself moving. Thanks for stopping by and I'll see ya tomorrow.

Egg-stra special...

TGIF!

I hope everyone has had a lovely week. Mine was busy but good and it is still going strong. Even with everything that I've got going on I was still able to get into the crafty room and make another Easter card to share. I went to my binder of CC Designs stamps for the main character and decided that Country Lula was going to get on a card this year. Lula is a favorite of mine and I paired her up with these pretty Girl Talk papers from October Afternoon because their vintage vibe seemed to suit her perfectly. As always I pulled my Copic colors from the papers... even throwing in some of that warm grey for a nice change of pace. :)

Now I really should get going... work, work, work!
Enjoy your weekend everybody!

Hoppy Easter...

Hello, hello!

I'm running behind this morning so I'm posting on the fly... this Lil' Lolita has been sitting in my stack of printed stamps for a couple years now. I know, I know... shame on me! She is called Flower Girl Ivy and was originally part of a wedding themed release. All I had to do was stick a die cut egg in her hand to turn Ivy into an Easter morning cutie. I paired her up with Doodlebug Easter Parade papers because, just like my St. Pat's card, it makes for a fun and fast scene card. Putting this together I got a bit sad and nostalgic, I really miss Tickled Pink stamps. Luckily I have a great collection of Lil' Lolitas and I'm definitely going to be looking at them with new eyes to see how I can tweak them for all sorts of cards.

Ok, time for me to get a move on.

Sweet Easter...

Mornin' folks!

The Easter cards continue today and I'm also playing in the Kraftin' Kimmie challenge which is 'anything goes'. I chose to ink up the sweet Abigail Apples stamp (sorry, I tried linking Abigail but she looks to be retired) and give her a slight alteration to get her ready for Easter. I did this by wiping away the apples from her dress and basket before stamping her. Sure, that becomes quite the fancy, perhaps even over-the-top Easter dress that Abigail is wearing but I figured, why not? Then I just grabbed a couple of Memory Box dies, Baby Bunnies and Egg-cetera, to fill her basket and finish off this little spring inspired scene.

Ok then, another day... another dollar.
Thanks for stopping by and I'll see ya manana!  :)

Good Luck Charm...

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Are you wearing your green? I've only got one green shirt and it is waiting in the closet for me to get this post done and get myself ready for the day. I don't want to be getting pinched ya know!  ;)

If you haven't guessed yet, I'm playing along in this week's Farm Fresh challenge over at TGF. The theme is "Get a little Irish with green and white" and while I certainly colored Good Luck Anya in greens and whites I couldn't resist giving her a lucky rainbow with its pot of gold when I found this great Doodlebug paper. Plus it made for a super quick card because the scene was already built for me.

Well, considering I haven't found my pot of gold yet I guess I should go get ready for work. ;)
Later gators!

On its way...

Hello again!

It rained all day yesterday so I spent a lot of time in the ol' crafty room. I should have been cleaning it up a bit but instead I made more of a mess. But that's ok 'cause I was in the creative groove which felt great. :)

I broke my streak of only using scrap papers on this year's Easter cards but when I saw this cute new paper from Bella Blvd I had to get a couple sheets. I love their prints but I still wish they would make them available in 6x6 pads for us card makers. I guess I'll just keep hoping for that to happen but in the mean time I'm not going to not get the 12x12.
So I made today's card using the MFT sketch 219 challenge. I flipped the original design but the basics are all there. And I chose the I'm All Ears Pure Innocence cutie to be the star of the show. But I couldn't leave her alone for this one, nope, she needed pigtails to mimic those bunny ears. So I grabbed a Copic multi-liner and drew in a few simple lines to lengthen her hair. Pretty cute if I do say so myself. ;)

Okey dokey, I'm off to work this morning.
Have a great Monday everybody!

Happy Easter... again, LOL

TGIF my friends!

Well, it sure didn't take me long to get back to a clean and simple card, LOL! In my defense though, as cute as that cloud paper is, it is quite a busy print and I didn't want to have a bunch of frouf competing with it. So this now retired Bunny Baby stamp from my Sweet November line is hugging her fuzzy friend in some wide open spaces. I did add a few die cut Easter eggs to complete the scene but that's it. Simple and sweet is proving to be my go-to kind of card.  :)

Have a wonderful weekend. It should be a beautiful one here in my neck of the woods so I'm looking forward to some quality time outdoors.

See ya Monday!

Happy Easter...

Good morning!

No challenge for me today but that's okay. It wasn't like I was lacking for inspiration with this sweet Gorjuss Girl waiting to get on a card. She is called "Waiting" and I'm pretty sure I got her from Sugar Nellie but it's been so long that if I did she isn't in stock there any more. As I was flipping through my binder of stamps Waiting caught my eye because that outfit of hers looked like a cute Easter dress with a little sweater, just in case the morning egg hunt is kind of chilly. And for the first time in quite a while I feel like I've stepped away from the clean and simple look and loaded up with layers and embellishments on this card. It was a fun change of pace and even though there is a lot going on I think that she still is the star of the show.

Ok, time for me to scoot.

Somebunny...

Hello, hello!

My Easter card today features Wryn from the Somebunny clear set over at Tiddly Inks. Because she came with all those extra bunnies, of course I had to stamp them into a whole scene to be front and center in this design. Wryn is such a super cutie and I had so much fun coloring her in these slightly brighter than pastel colors that were pulled directly from this old KI Memories paper. Sigh... KI may have been defunct as a company for years and years now but I still adore everything they ever made. Which, silly as it seems, sometimes makes it hard for me to actually cut into the papers that I still have. Happily, I feel that this card turned out KI worthy, LOL! ;)
I'm also playing along in the "charming" challenge at the Tiddly Inks challenge blog with this card. Luckily for me I still have a bunch of random charms that I got a decade ago from one of those QVC scrapbooking shows. It's been a long wait but this Easter Egg charm has finally fulfilled its crafty destiny, LOL!

Ok, time for the usual get ready for work morning routine.
Have a good one everybody!

Peeps...

Olo!

When I saw Color Challenge #16 over on the MFT challenge blog I knew I had the perfect paper scraps to work with the purple/green/yellow/brown combo. This older Doodlebug paper is so whimsical and I think it works great for a sweet Easter card featuring an even sweeter Pure Innocence cutie. At first I thought I was using a stamp that hadn't been inked up yet but when I looked up the Easter cards I made last year there she was... One of My Favorite Peeps Pure Innocence. Not only that but I had paired her with Doodlebug paper then too, LOL! Luckily, the colors and designs are so different that it gives her a whole new feel. In general I don't use a lot of purple and after putting this card together I'm thinking I need to remedy that situation because it is quite lovely.

Well, I've got the day off today and a big to-do list that starts with a much needed hair cut appointment this morning. So I'll see ya tomorrow then! :)

Cake and ice cream...

Hello Monday!

Today I'm taking a little break from Easter cards so that I can play along in this week's Birthday themed Farm Fresh Challenge over at TGF. My card is actually 100% inspired by the genius altering that my bloggin' buddy Carisa did to SSC Love Peppermint Bean. As soon as I saw Carisa's card I was just itchin' to try my hand at turning Peppermint's candy hat into a cake hat too. I'm a big fan of the cutie TGF Beans so I was super excited when this little gal arrived in my mailbox last month. I didn't get around to using her for a Valentine though and I was resigned to the idea of having to wait 'til Christmas to get her on a card. Until I saw what Carisa came up with... talk about creative!
Because I already had this Bean stamped up I decided to pull out my light box and trace a the peppermint into a blank cake shape on a separate piece of cardstock. Because the cake was a separate image and I had to glue it on, I decided to add another layer with the little doily between her and the cake. The paper scraps I pulled are old Bella Blvd which had a lot of fun colors going on. So of course Peppermint had to have a colorful outfit to match.   :)

Alrighty, time to get ready for work.
Hope your week is off to a great start!

Somebunny loves you...

Hello, hello!

So this past week I was lucky enough to win the challenge over at A Day for Daisies. I was so excited to get a $12 gift certificate and pick out a few new digis to play with. Because of my current Easter kick I just had to get this adorable Girl with a Bunny digi and print her out right away. The papers I paired her up with are super old scraps from Sassafras Lass. They haven't been in business for years but I still love their designs and the light pastel colors seemed to be perfect for this girlie and her bunny. The big flowers were also cut out from the same paper which kept this card a quickie since I didn't' have to go hunting all over for the perfect embellishments.

Alrighty, I've got to get ready for work now. Hope your weekend is a good one and I'll see y'all Monday!  :)

Bunnies are darling...

Mornin' friends!

I've got a bit of a mash up going on with today's Easter card. First I took this lovely gardener from the Kraftin' Kimmie Bloomin Wonderful set and wiped away the flower she was planting before stamping her on the cardstock. Then I stamped these sweet bunnies that are part of the Sister Stamps Kimie image onto another scrap of cardstock, colored and cut them out. Then I just colored up the girlie and the scene before gluing the bunnies into place. This is a pretty simple alteration but I love how it transformed a gardener into an Easter lassie with her bunny pals. I made sure that the paper scraps I grabbed were nice and bright so that I could enter this card into the 'Bright Colors' challenge over at the Kraftin' Kimmie blog.

Well, that's all I've got to share today.
I'll see ya in 24!  :)

Sweeter than jelly beans...

Hey there!

It's been so beautiful and sunny here that it is hard to imagine there are parts of the country still buried in snow. I've been watching the crocus and daffodils start to peek out of the ground so for me spring has definitely sprung.

My card today features the Sweet Chicky stamp from Roberto's Rascals over at CC Designs. I didn't get a chance to ink him up last year so I wasn't going to let another Easter come and go without getting Henry and his chick on a card. I masked them off and stamped the cloud background behind to really complete the little scene. And yes, I used another metal rim tag for the sentiment... I'm just trying to use up embellishments that I've had hanging around for ages. Slowly but surely I'm chipping away at the clutter but I'm about ready to grab a Rubbermaid tub and start filling it with stuff to just get rid of. All I need now is the motivation to let things go... I'll let you know how it goes.  :)

Have a good one and I'll see ya manana!
Later gators!

Happy Easter...

Olo!

So I started cleaning and organizing the crafty room yesterday and I think I've decided to go through my scrap bags and pull all the Easter/spring papers and put them together for quick reference. I ended up using two scrap papers for my card today and it felt really good to make a bit of room in those scraps. Yes, it will be a mini mission to only use scraps this month and see what I can come up with. And considering I haven't seen many new Easter collections this year the decision is even easier for me to make.

For my second Easter card this year I chose to use SSC Honey from The Greeting Farm so that I could play along in the FFF challenge this week. The theme is 'ribbon or lace' and I had this giant pink ribbon just sitting on my desk, mocking me. I don't usually go for wide ribbon like this on a card, but this came in a kit so I was stuck with it. I decided to tie it into a bow to mimic the one in Honey's hair (which I slightly altered by wiping away the skull) and pop it on top of that sentiment tag. Yeah! Another bit of clutter off my desk and on a card, I'm on a roll! The cute chicks are a new die from Memory Box that I just cut out off yellow cardstock and used a few Copics to shade in a bit of shape and dimension to.

Ok, I've got to get a move on.
TTYL!

Favorite Peeps...

Hello friends!

It's been a whirlwind weekend for me and I'm hoping that this week slows down a bit. Luckily I've got the day off today to kick back and relax. Well, I'm hoping it isn't a complete slacker day because I really need to clean and organize my crafty room before I dive into Easter cards full throttle. My desk is a hopeless mess and I either need to sort through my scrap bags for Easter papers or dig out some Easter 6x6 pads so I can rock and roll through them this month.

So to kick off my 2015 Easter cards I've got a simple one featuring the Zodiac Rabbit from Sister Stamps. I altered him just a bit by wiping away the the bell around his neck before stamping but that is it. When I was hunting through my scraps and came across this chick paper I thought it would be a funny pairing... the Easter Bunny with his army of fluffy, yellow chicks spreading sunshine, happiness and thousands and thousands of jelly beans. LOL  :)

Well, thanks for stopping by and I'll see ya tomorrow!
