Olo!
How could I go through the Christmas season without getting an A Day For Daisies beauty on a card? Last year I got both the Christmas Tree Fairy and Musical Bell Fairy happily homed on cards of their own so I wanted to continue working my way through the holiday fairies series with Frosty Snowflake Fairy. Initially with snow and snowflakes the mind goes to cool color palettes with lots of aquas, blues and violets but this gorgeous Christmas paper had me going in a whole different direction. Sure she has the silver skirt but the pops of red and gold really stand out against the dark forest I sketched in behind her. Then she got finished off with a healthy dose of sparkle to make her really shimmer and shine. :)
Ok friends, enjoy this final day of November because after this, December and all of its holiday craziness will officially be upon us!

A merry little Christmas...
Hey there crafty peeps!
I'm checking another card off my cousin's order with this one. Two down, two to go. For this one I inked up happy little Setsuna from Sister Stamps and paired him with a Christmas tree from Impronte d'Autore. I'm 99% sure that they are drawn by the same artist so they really look great together. In keeping with my one layer rule for these cards I colored in a wood floor and wall behind them to pull the simple scene all together. I also made sure to leave a lot of open space up above because I really wanted to use this cool sentiment with Setsuna. To finish it all off I added plenty of sparkle and gloss to the ornaments decorating the tree.
Alrighty then, catch ya later! :)
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink and Bazzill

Have a holly jolly holiday...
Hello, hello!
It's Tuesday and time for a new 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store card creation. 7 Kids recently began working with Patricia Alvarez of Kinda Cute Stamps to start turning some of her wonderful digi designs into clear stamps. For my card today I have inked up the Kinda Cute Santa Claus with Presents in desert sand ink so I could play with some no-line coloring. I did this because I wanted to add a few more facial features to Santa and really bring him to life. Once I had him colored up it was time to figure out what kind of scene to put him in. So I asked my sister for advice and she suggested that he be up on a roof top getting ready to go down a chimney. I loved the story that would tell and it was a nice challenge to figure out the perspective on that chimney. Oh... and I used more of that shimmery Curious Metallics Cryogen white cardstock to color this Christmas scene on. I think I might be seriously addicted because the end result is so pretty in person.
Alrighty, there is still a couple weeks to play along in the November 'anything goes' challenge so head on over to the 7 Kids blog and play along for the chance to win a $20 gift certificate!.

Season's Greetings...
Good morning!
This weekend I had a request from my cousin, Michael, for some Christmas cards that he could send to the parents of his exchange student friends who are staying with him. They are from Japan and right away I thought of my Sister Stamps stash. The way we stampers tend to accumulate new stamps it is easy to always be using the new, new, new! I know I fall into that all the time, so it makes it even sweeter when I revisit old favorites. This fun stamp is called Shimo San and in order to keep the card nice and flat for mailing I decided to go ahead and color in a winter background for them to inhabit. I also just got my hands on some Curious Metallics Cryogen White cardstock to see what it was like to color on and I gotta say, I LOVE it! The Copic ink goes on so smooth, blending beautifully and the cardstock has a subtle iridescent shimmer to it that makes the finished card positively sparkle and shine. I wish the photo captured the magic of this cardstock because it is so pretty in person. Well I hope Michael likes this card as much as I do because I had a blast coloring up these winter kiddos once again.
Later gators! :)

Let your heart be light...
TGIF!
It's a good thing I'm back to work today because I seriously need to work off that Thanksgiving meal... oooph, I'm still feeling stuffed! But it was a wonderful day in the Young household and I hope it was just as great for all of you as well. :)
Now it's time to dive back into Christmas cards and today I've combined the little sitting girl from the Roberto's Rascals 3 Reindeer set with Little Elf for this one. I love how these two stamps interact with each other, doesn't it look like he just adores her? I found this pre-made scene in the Doodlebug Milk and Cookies paper pad so I fussy cut them out and plunked them right into the cozy living room. I imagine them being all dressed up for the yearly Christmas pageant, waiting to do their rendition of "Here Comes Santa Claus".
Alrighty then, be careful if you are out there doing the crazy Black Friday shopping today and I shall see ya back here on Monday!

May the magic of the season never end...
Hey there!
Last month I entered the Facebook challenge at All Dressed Up and won the opportunity to join the Dressy Girls and do a guest spot for the November Inspiration today. When it came time to make the tough choice of which fabulous new digi I would like to play with, I ultimately went with Magic Wand. I think it was her cute pigtails that really sealed the deal. Anywho, I printed her out nice and big so that she would be the star of the show on my card. Then I got to work coloring her up, she looked like a spunky Christmas sprite to me so I decided to give her some pretty silver hair to play against the gold stars of her barrettes and wand. The rest of her outfit is traditional red and green and I didn't skimp on the sparkle either. The Merry Merry paper pad that I paired Magic Wand with had this great sheet of paper in it that was a bunch of little squares with different images or sentiments in them. I cut out three of them and used a postage stamp punch on them to create some cool embellishments. I really like how it looks like they are part of the Christmas 'magic' escaping her wand. :)
I would like to thank Andrea at All Dressed Up for inviting me to join the fun this month, I had a blast! And I highly recommend that anyone who loves these adorable digi stamps to get creative and join either the Facebook challenge or their challenge blog... you could be the next lucky GDT! :)

Be merry...
Hello crafty friends!
It's Tuesday and it's a special Tuesday because it's also my birthday! I thought about making a birthday card for my 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store creation in honor of the big day but I'm just having too much fun with Christmas cards to stop now. So instead I grabbed the Sing Hello stamp set from TGF and colored up this adorable winter kiddo. She's one of the My Kids, whom I love. Something about them looks like squishy, soft marshmallows and I just want to pinch their round cheeks. She was perfect with the fun and colorful prints in the Santa Stops Here paper pad from Bella Blvd. The two came together into a little shaker card in no time!
Now don't forget the monthly challenge over on the 7 Kids blog. There is plenty of time to get creative and enter in for a chance to win the $20 gift certificate!

Peace, love and joy...
Good morning!
What can I say? The holidays are upon us and that means this week is super busy at work. This isn't leaving me a lot of time to post so things may be kinda short and sweet around here. For my card today I was drawn to this sweet girl from the TGF Darling Sisters set. Something about her was looking very Dickensian to me so I thought it would be fun to give her a home on a Christmas card. I colored her up to match this scrap of pretty quilt looking paper by Simple Stories as it suited her vintage vibe. I gotta say, I think she fits into the Christmas theme quite well. :)
Later gators!

Merry and Bright...
TGIF!
I'm wrapping up this week with a card I've made for this month's "anything goes" challenge at Whimsy Stamps. I couldn't wait to ink up Warm and Cozy using desert sand ink and really play with her look using the no-line coloring technique. By stamping her up in a light ink I was able to color in her eyes and give her face some added expression. She's so adorable all bundled up and actually kinda reminds me of myself when I go out these days to walk the dogs... ya gotta have your cap, your scarf, your coat, gloves and boots just to brave the cold. The background is a shaker that I filled with white micro beads and minnie pearls to make it look like snow on that winter scene. All in all I really had fun with this one. :)
Ok, have a great weekend and I will see ya back here on Monday!

Warm winter wishes...
Olo!
I'm running off to work this morning so just a quick post to share a quick Christmas card. I was debating between a handful of different stamps when I sat down to get crafty the other day and it wasn't until I started looking through paper pads that I finally cemented my choice. I came across this pretty My Mind's Eye Sugar Plum collection that I got last year and the first paper in it was this lovely winter scene. Right away I knew that it would become the perfect home for Tiny Townie Frida Loves Frosty. All I had to do was color them up to match the soft, pretty hues of the paper and then fussy cut them out. Add a simple sentiment, scatter a few tiny hearts and this quick but cute card was done. :)
Alrighty, I've really gotta get a move on... see ya!

Merry Christmas...
Good morning!
The last time I colored up this gorgeous Holiday Anya was six years ago when she was first released so getting her on another card seemed long overdue. The first go round I had stuck with very traditional red and green Christmas colors so why not try something completely different this time? These pretty Christmas papers with their antique gold hues where very inspirational thus the "silver and gold" treatment that she got. I did my best to make the holly in her hair look like a gold jewelry piece and her dress like sparkly gold lame and silver fox fur. I think she looks quite elegant! Hmmm... there have been four more Holiday Anyas since this winter beauty and now I'm wondering if we will see a new one this year as well? I sure hope so. :)
Stay crafty mis amigos!
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink and Copic X-Press It

Wrapped in love...
Hello crafty friends!
Are you ready for my Tuesday 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store card? This week was all about creating a magical winter scene with this sweet stamp from Dreamerland Crafts. It's called A Beary Big Hug and these two totally give me the feels. I wanted this to look like a moment captured out of a storybook so I was inspired to try a background like this one by the amazing Sandy Allnock. I gotta say, it was a lot of fun squiggling in those trees and watching it all come together just how I imagined it. I didn't want to cover up all that coloring so I kept the card clean and simple with just a sprinkling of sequins and a nice sentiment to pull it all together.
Now don't forget the monthly challenge over on the 7 Kids blog. There is plenty of time to get creative and enter in for a chance to win the $20 gift certificate!
Supply list:
cardstock- Copic X-Press It and Papertrey Ink

Furry and Bright...
Hello friends!
Today I am sharing the last card that I made during my time as a guest designer for MFT. This one was totally inspired by my friend's dog, Pickle. She is the most beautiful miniature Dachshund that I have ever seen and she's quite the character too. So I colored this little wiener dog from the Happy Pawlidays set all in black, just like Pickle, and surrounded her with bright pops of color in the ornaments, the inked background and the rug I borrowed from the retired BB Merry Christmoose set. Once again the coordinating Happy Pawlidays dies were used along with some Glossy Accents that I added to the baubles for extra shine. A thin strip of black and white striped washi tape down the left edge of the card ties back nicely to my little black wiener dog and adds a graphic touch to the finished card. It's such a happy scene and I know exactly who is getting it this Christmas, LOL! :)
Talk at'cha later!
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink
stamps- My Favorite Things (BB Happy Pawlidays set and BB Merry Christmoose set)
ink- Memento tuxedo black and Nick Bantock chrome yellow

Have a cup of cheer...
TGIF!
I've been anxious to play with the cuties from the TGF/SSS exclusive Pumpkin Spice It Up set ever since I got my hands on them. But at that time I was knee deep in Halloween cards so they had to wait. Then once I jumped into Christmas I thought they might have to wait again but then a line from the old Burl Ives Holly Jolly Christmas song came to mind, "I don't know if there'll be snow but have a cup of cheer." Aha! I knew just the girl to share a cup of Christmas cheer. I did do a minor alteration to her hair by wiping away the curled ends of her bangs and drawing in straight lines just to simplify her look a bit. Then I pulled some of my all time favorite Christmas papers from October Afternoon and colored her up to match. All of a sudden I had a very festive looking little gal who is ready for the holidays. :)
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you find some time this weekend to grab a cuppa and get crafty!

Deck the Halls...
Olo!
Today I'm sharing another card that I made during my MFT guest spot. I wanted to create a small contained indoor scene combining the mischievous pup who is all tangled up in lights along with the tree and gifts that are from the Happy Pawlidays set. I masked the tree and two of the gifts onto the background along with the picture frame from the LJD Make Yourself at Home set, then I grabbed the Small Brick Wall Stencil and inked over everything to create the cozy brick wall. I used the coordinating BB Happy Pawlidays dies to cut out the pup and one of the gifts so that I could easily pop them up off the scene just a bit. There is glossy accents on the lights which looks cool in person but didn't quite get picked up in the photo. The large sentiment from the Handwritten Holiday set is a nice counter balance to the top heavy design and since I used red ink it also ties in to the bits of red up in the scene.
Later gators! :)
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink
stamps- My Favorite Things (BB Happy Pawlidays set, LJD Make Yourself at Home set and Handwritten Holiday set)

Sending you Christmas cheer...
Hey there!
It's the second Wednesday of the month and that means it's time for the November 'anything goes' challenge over on the 7 Kids challenge blog. Playing along is easy, all you have to do is use at least one product that can be found in the 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store and link back to the challenge blog in your own post, which gives you a chance at winning a $20 gift certificate at the end of the month... who doesn't love that?
I've been such a fan of the Little Agenda stamp sets from Mama Elephant so when they released the Little Santa Agenda and Little Reindeer Agenda sets I had to add them to my collection. These tiny stamps manage to have so much character and I quickly realized that as cute as they are on their own I could super size the impact they made on my card by masking a whole group of them together. So why not create a line up a la 'The Usual Suspects' of Santa and his eight tiny reindeer as they get ready for Christmas? I used my Misti to stamp them because the grid on it made it easy to keep them all lined up nice and even. Once I had them all stamped and colored up I decided to add prominent shadows at their feet to help ground them and add a bit of drama to a very clean and simple design. I can't even tell you how happy this card makes me! :)
I hope to see some of my crafty friends get their jolly on and join the fun with me this month over at 7 Kids!
Supply list:

Tinsel in a tangle...
Hello crafty friends!
I'm here today with my weekly 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store card creation. Last week was all about Halloween and now I'm diving straight into Christmas... kinda like Angel Evangeline is diving into that tree, LOL! Evangeline is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and she absolutely cracks me up! As soon as I saw her I was reminded of the scene in Elf where Buddy uses the couch to spring into the tree in an attempt to place the topper. She looks to have that same kind of enthusiasm for the holiday. Either that or Evangeline has finally cracked under all the pressure to present the 'perfect' Christmas, thus the funny sentiment that I ended up pairing with her. ;)
I am also adding this to the current Saturday challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and the theme is 'magic'. I figure the inherent magic of the Christmas season certainly qualifies. :)
Ok then, the October challenge just wrapped up but be sure to check out the 7 Kids blog tomorrow when November's challenge kicks off! Fun new holiday stuff is coming into the store every day and that $20 gift certificate would really fill a stocking!

Merry Christmas...
Hello, hello!
Yesterday we got our first winter storm of the season and it dropped about five or six inches of snow on us in less than 24 hours. I think that makes this card quite appropriate to share today. This frosty fella is Mr. Snowman from A Day For Daisies and I've had him printed out for ages just waiting to get on a card. He is paired up with some classic My Mind's Eye paper that is still in my top 10 most favorite Christmas collections evah. The soft colors suited him quite nicely and I did my best to match them with my Copics.
Alrighty friends, I've gotta get this day started. Talk at'cha again tomorrow!

Warm wishes...
TGIF everybody!
I've got another Christmas card that I made using the fun Polar Pals stamp set from MFT. For this one I created a single layer scene by masking the penguin, seal and polar bear all together onto the ice flow. I used my Copic markers to color their cute winter wear in the traditionally festive red and green holiday colors. Then I continued to sketch in the cold, winter waves and towering pines in the background to really flesh out the arctic home they live in. To finish off the card I die cut some large snowflakes and had them floating past the trio of festive friends. :)
Enjoy your weekend and I will see you again next week!
