Hello there!
I'm quite excited to be wrapping up this month with a guest post over on the Honey Bee blog. If you have been following me here for any length of time you will know that I am a card maker with a passion for creating fun scenes using stamps and Copic markers and I have done exactly that with the newly released Mae the Mouse set. With some careful masking I was able to dress Mae in her cute cover-alls and add the chocolate chip cookie in her little paws. It was the cookie that ended up inspiring the rest of the design as I could envision her having successfully raided the kitchen cookie jar. Because I had a lot of grey going on in the tile and Mae herself I chose to compliment that with a bright, sunny yellow. If you ask me, pairing grey and yellow is one of those combos you can never go wrong with. Then I decided to further the story by adding some cookie crumbs at her feet, hinting that perhaps this isn't the first cookie Mae has enjoyed... LOL! To finish off the card I borrowed one of the sentiments from the Seasonal Sweeties set and stamped it in light grey so that it wouldn't take away from the cute cookie thief scene that I had created.
Thanks so much for dropping by today!

Get Well Soon...
Hello crafty friends!
It's my turn to post over on The Greeting Farm blog and I like to take advantage of these days by making a point to show some love to the older TGF stamps in my collection. It's my crafty mission to make sure all of my stamps fulfill their inky destiny so I made a point of choosing a set that hadn't seen much love yet. The Hello Gorgeous set caught my eye and I was drawn to this little sleeping beauty in particular. The way she is just totally zonked out had me thinking of the times that I come down with the flu, so I figured a Get Well card would be a fun way to use her. I ran with the whole birds eye view of the image and colored in the bed below her as well as the side table, floor, wall and a snoozing kitty to keep her company. I also made sure to leave little white spaces as I colored so they would look like used tissues strewn all about. After die cutting a funky window to frame the scene I grabbed the Get Well set to add the sentiment as well as the little tissue box accent. The final touch... a piece of real tissue peeking out of the window. I gotta say that cracks me up a bit, LOL!
Well thanks for stopping by today!

A million little things...
Hello, hello!
Today I'm sharing a card using another one of the newest stamps from Dreamerland Crafts that were just released at Creativation. This cutie feeding his kitty is called My Dear Friend. Now being the crazy cat lady that you know I am, I just had to add a few more feline friends to this scene. So I hunted through my collection of Dreamerland stamps and found three more that were ready to join the fun. Because this little guy is resting on a hay bale I decided to try my hand at coloring in a barn background and I'm not ashamed to say that this is heavily inspired by an awesome card that I saw Sandy Allnock share on her Instagram last summer. My rinky dink little barn is no where near as cool as hers but I'm still pleased with this first attempt and I will certainly be practicing and playing with this type of scene more in the future. As for My Dear Friend, if you love this stamp as much as I do I know that 7 Kids will be getting their order very soon so keep an eye on the store!
Have a good one my friends!

You are a work of art...
Good morning!
I got an order from 7 Kids on Friday and this Beautiful Girl Sydnee from Picket Fence was in there... squeeee! If you can't tell I was just a bit excited to ink her up and have a go at coloring Sydnee up. I stamped her in desert sand ink for some no-line coloring and then dove right in. As I was working on her hair I started getting a very Art Nouveau kind of vibe from Sydnee so I decided to embrace it and really give this card a dreamy, romantic look. To that end I sketched in a flowing gown for her to wear and then got to work creating a sun dappled wooded stream for her to stand beside. There was a whole lot of trial and error that went into coloring that background but I learned a lot and am pretty happy with the end result. :)
Later gators!

When in doubt, dance...
Hey there!
I wasn't planning on posting today but when I saw the new digital stamp release at Moonlight Whispers I couldn't color this beauty up fast enough. She's called The Flamenco Dancer and she is just fabulous! I envisioned her dancing in a moonlit courtyard of some stately hacienda so that is what I set out to create in my background. I got a little help from the Hello Bluebird Halloween Party set in those strands of garden lights and they certainly help set the mood. ;)
Alrighty, off to work I go... laters!

Hugs...
TGIF!
It's my turn to post at 7 Kids and I've got not one but two cards to share. My first card showcases the darling little flora sprites from the I'm a Hugger set by Picket Fence Studios. I can't even tell you how excited I am that Kelly has added Picket Fence to the list of vendors in the store, I just adore their quirky, cute whimsical characters as well as their beautiful girls range. There is definitely something for everyone with this company. I knew for my card today that I wanted to pair these two up with some pretty papers and the Simple Stories Bloom kit was absolutely perfect! I love the soft, sweet color palette it inspired and I finished off the demure design with a crochet flower that my sister made for me. :)
My second card had me playing around with the new Kellycorn digital stamp set that is exclusive to 7 Kids. This png zip file comes with all sorts of pretty flowers and leaves as well as various eye and nostril choices that when mix and matched with the unicorn horn and ears provides endless combinations of these cool stripped down, minimalist unicorn images. All I had to do was add a sentiment and some sparkle and my card was complete!
Well, thanks for stopping by today, I hope your weekend is a crafty one!

Feel like home...
Hey there!
It has been way too long since I have made time to play along in a Wednesday Sketch Challenge over at My Favorite Things. When I went over to check out the new sketch yesterday I had a vision of putting two of the darling owls from the Warm and Feathered Hugs set into a cozy tree hole. So with a bit of masking and selective inking I got these two cuties snuggled together so that I could color them into their forest hideaway. I kinda flipped the sketch a bit by moving the long narrow strip to the opposite side of the card but I think that you can still see the inspiration there.
Okey dokey, that's all from me today. Stay crafty my friends! :)

All your wishes...
Hey there!
It's no secret that I'm a big fan of the Roberto's Rascals cuties at CC Designs and when the new Unicorns clear set was released this month I HAD to add it to my collection. Once it was in my hot little hands I didn't waste any time digging out my Dragons and Prince and Princess sets to do a bit of mix and matching. My original plan was this scene with the princess and the sitting sweeties but as I was looking at the other stamps I saw that I could also do a fun scene for the boys if I just grabbed my handy dandy mirror stamp and flipped the little flying dragon to point the other direction. Once that was all stamped up there was no way I could not create cards out of both, LOL! So we've got the girly and sweet version of these sets along with the energetic and playful version and I love them both! :)
Ok then, time for me to go shovel some snow and get this day going. Have a good one!

Friends warm the heart...
Hello, hello!
With all the sunshine we got yesterday I figured I had better hustle and get some of the winter themed stamps in my collection inked up and on cards before the seasons really start to shift. So I grabbed this darling Skating Party set from Hello Bluebird and went to work stamping and masking them into a friendly, frozen scene full of snow and ice and lots of fun. In contrast to the pale snowy background I thought it would add a lot punch to the card if I created a bright rainbow of color in their little hats and scarves. :)
Alrighty friends, stay warm and have a good one!

Take your breath away...
Good morning!
Dreamerland Crafts just revealed their first release of 2019 at Creativation this past weekend and this little cutie is one of those newest images. She's called Photographer and the actual stamp set also includes a hummingbird too. As soon as I saw her my mind was racing with different scenes that she could be capturing with her camera and this go round I settled on a glorious mountain sunrise. I had a lot of fun playing with color blends to create that play of light and the flair as the sun starts to crest that distant hillside. I can just imagine the magnificent vista that she is capturing through her lens. Now I have it on pretty good authority that Photographer along with a bunch of her friends will be coming to 7 Kids so keep an eye out for that soon! ;)

Sweet November Vault day 2
Welcome back to day 2 our January Sweet November Vault opening at 7 Kids. The Vault is a special period
where we bring back a few select 'classic' Sweet November rubber
images, give them an update
and convert them to a new digital format. Initially the Vault only
stayed open for 24 hours but we have listened to your requests and from
now on the Vault will stay open all weekend long, that's right a full 48 hours. So if you missed getting them
'back in the day' now is your chance... and they are quite the deal
too!
Today I am sharing the results of the Live coloring videos that I did in the 7 Kids Customers Create group yesterday. I changed things up with Princess Ilyse by cropping in close on her pretty face and mirror flipping the digital image then printing her nice and light for some no line coloring. The castle background is one that I've had for ages and couldn't remember who made it until a super sleuth who was watching the Live, Bonnie, tracked it down... so thanks Bonnie!
Pegasus Breezy was printed out rather large for this card putting her front and center as she flies high above this peaceful pastoral plain. We had a lot of fun picking colors for this soaring sweetie and I learned that the decorative markings that I like to add to her hind quarters are called 'cutie spots'... love that! If you weren't able to join us for the Lives all of the past coloring sessions can be found in the group archives here. And today is the last day to add these to your digi collection because once Monday rolls around that Vault closes back up and who knows when we will see them again. :)

In my thoughts...
TGIF!
Today I've got the altered version of Uptown Zodiac Girl Capricorn to share with you. Capricorn was an easy change up, all I did was wipe away her horns before stamping then I used a black multiliner pen to fill in the missing lines in her hair. I debated about having another go at coloring in her big, wide skirt or shortening it for more of a change but then I came up with an easy scene utilizing a die cut window that would do all the work for me. By placing her inside the house you can't see how long or short the skirt really is, the lazy crafter in me really loves that simple solution, LOL! The wall frames are from the Fireplace Backdrop stamp, I just cut them apart from the fireplace for some added versatility with the images. This created a pretty little scene to spy through that window and a cheery card over all. :)
Now don't forget to check back tomorrow for this month's SN Vault release. Two classic Sweet November images have been given a digital update and will be available for 48 hours only at 7 Kids!
Supply list:

Capricorn...
Good morning crafty friends!
We are nearing the finish line with my personal challenge to create birthday cards for each of the Stamping Bella Zodiac Girls and this month Capricorn is the star of the show. Capricorn is the sign of the Goat and she is reserved, prudent, patient, disciplined, determined and quick to seize opportunity. She uses cunning instead of force and seeks security. Her signature colors are dark green and brown, the classic, comforting colors of nature and the earth. Once again I didn't have a particular recipient in mind while coloring her up but I had a great time creating this woodsy background for her to live in and play with pattern on that big ol' skirt of hers. :)
Tomorrow I will have the altered version of Capricorn to share so be sure to come back then!
Supply list:

A wonderful friend...
Hello, hello!
I'm tickled pink to share with you all that I am guest designing for Honey Bee Stamps this month! I've been a big fan of their stamps for a couple years now. Their designs range from sweet and whimsical to kind of folk artsy cool, all of which really speak to me. No matter the style, what I really love more than anything is how these sets are totally geared towards scene building and telling stories with your stamps... and you know I'm all over that! For my card today I had a lot of fun with the Snow Buddies set and masked a bunch of the cute characters together into a happy winter scene. The sentiment also comes from another great Honey Bee set called Friendship. All together and they make for one very happy little card, sure to bring smiles!
Alrighty friends, I'm off for a day of fun and coloring. See ya in 24!
