Sunshine and good times...

Hey, hey!

It has been an absolute scorcher in my neck of the woods lately which had me dreaming of the beach and cool ocean breezes. While I can't make that a reality for myself, I could create this beachy scene using some cute critters from the Beach Play and Come on in sets from Hello Bluebird. I also wanted to pair them with the newer By the Sea background stamp and at first I thought I might be out of luck since it shows the water far in the distance and I needed it up close to put my critters in. As I started to shift the stamp around on my card stock it came to me that I could omit the top half of the stamp entirely and wipe away the water lines before stamping, leaving that small gap of sky peeking out beyond the sand dunes. Then I grabbed the fabulous little stamp that looks like waves lapping at the shore from the Beach Play set and repeatedly stamped it down below to create a new water line... perfect! Now these critters are happily enjoying their day at the beach and I still wish I could join them, LOL!  ;)

New release hop with Colorado Craft Company...

 

 

Hello again!

I am so excited to be joining the Colorado Craft Company new release blog hop today. There are eight new sets being introduced to the shop and eight lucky crafters who complete the hop will each win one of the new stamp sets. I ended up making two cards for today and the first one features the new Uh, Oh! set. This pair of Lovely Legs has stepped out of the ice cream shop and immediately lost her cold, creamy, chocolatey treat to the hot sidewalk beneath her feet. Pure tragedy I tell ya, but this plucky gal isn't going to let some runaway Rocky Road ruin her day. :)

My second card is another pair of Lovely Legs from the new Summertime Birthday set. Here we find ourselves lounging poolside, trying to beat the heat but it looks like some fun and games are about to transpire with the appearance of that giant beach ball that Lovely is carrying. That great sentiment is also included in the set along with a handful of others.

Hey there!

I'm up on The Greeting Farm blog today I've got one more card featuring another casual cutie from the Miss Anya Jeans set. I have so much fun taking these clear characters and putting them into digitally created scenes using all of the great builder sets that can be found in the store. For this gal's scene I wanted to have her spending a hot summer day walking the boardwalk, enjoying all of the games and attractions. The Carnival digi set was perfect for this with all of the different booths and games that are included. I set it up so that Miss Anya is playing a game of darts and from the look of things she has just won herself a super fluffy unicorn. She appears to be quite tickled with this happy achievement and it certainly makes for a pretty spectacular day. When it came to pulling colors I decided to stick with a crisp blue and white for the booth itself as I felt that combo had a very seaside vibe to it. The balloons are brighter versions of the pinks, blues and yellows that I used in the sunset sky. I also used the same purple combo on both the unicorn plushie and Anya's shirt for balance and to hint that they belong together. All together I think it makes for a cheerful summer scene and a pretty cute card. ;)

Good morning! 

The Midsummer Mushroom wraps up today at noon EST so I hope y'all have been able to grab the amazing freebies and deals that have been available this weekend in the DigiMojo Facebook Group. I couldn't resist grabbing this cute Fairy Witch Glamour freebie from Faery Ink etsy shop and coloring her up for one of the challenges.
