Sending Christmas Joy and Cheer...

Olo!

I am impatiently awaiting the upcoming Farmer's Market at The Greeting Farm on the 18th, so that I can get my hands on the exclusive Winter Anya that will be offered as an incentive to spend $50 or more. Marie has been doing this all year and I've been able to get Spring, Summer and Fall, so Winter will complete the collection. Because I still have a few weeks to wait, I thought it would be fun to give Fall Anya a Christmas make-over for my card today.  With her oversized pull-over and big cup of cocoa it was an easy transformation. Really, it just came down to surrounding her with Christmas decor, which was easy to do using some of the digi sets in the store. The chair and rug are from the Build-a-Living Room set while the fireplace and stockings are from the Christmas Day set. The laptop from the Laptop Anya set was placed on the chair so that it looks like Anya has taken a break from her online gift shopping to enjoy her warm cuppa. And as a cute finishing touch to this cozy holiday scene I even added the sleeping pup from the Build-a-Bedroom set, basking in the warmth of the fire. As cute as this turned out, I can't wait to see what the next Anya will look like!

Toodles!

Winter Wishes...

Hey, hey!

This bundled up bear from the Signs of the Season set at Sweet November was colored up Live during the release weekend over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. I paired him with the Birch Trees Horizon Lines for the snowy background and then added some of the cute birdies from the Bountiful Blessings: Thanks a Bunch set in the foreground. This gave me a reason to have fun creating dirt patches in the snow pack which always adds a bit of interest to a winter scene. The pretty purple hues in the sky and snow give this a nice early morning vibe and play beautifully with the dark reds and greens in the bear's outfit. Everything just came together so beautifully here making this card another example of why I so enjoy collaborating with my fellow crafty friends that join me during the Lives.  :)

Have a good one!

Believe in the magic of Christmas...

Good morning!

Now that my November SN Pen Pal card has been received, I can share it here on the ol' blog. I really wanted to create a very graphic style postage stamp design using the older Elegant Reindeer set and to do that I chose to limit the whole design to a simple red, white and black color palette. I used the postage stamps die from The Stamp Market because it gives you four larger sections to create your designs in. I stamped reindeer onto three of the 'stamps' and left the fourth one open for the large decorative sentiment from Mama Elephant, that I heat embossed in white after using the Copic airbrush system to create the red background. A mix of postage stamps from both Waffle Flower and The Greetery complete the whole holiday stamp design. I know this is pretty different than most of the cards I create but I am in love with how it turned out.  :)

Later gators!
