Hello, hello!
So we've got a great new Book Inspired challenge for Monday Mania this week over at CA&Friends... brought to us by the amazing miss Elaine Hughes!
Let me just say that I had a hard time with this one. Not because I couldn't come up with an idea, on the contrary... I had so many different ideas and stories that I love it was hard to narrow things down to just one! In the end I had to stop, listen to my stamps and see who lent themselves the best to the theme. Surprisingly (for me anyway) it was my digis that stepped up to the plate. Normally my process just involves flipping through my stamp binders to find an image and my digis kinda get forgotten but this week my poor neglected Prince Ian digi was very insistent that he finally be colored up. ;)
Ok, ok settle down Prince, you're making it on the card... but what story would he tell? So I stopped and really looked at him, that's when it hit me! Romeo, oh Romeo... wherefore art thou Romeo? He art right there, LOL! And the bonus was that because he was digi I could shrink him to a smaller scale and have plenty of room on my card to create the entire balcony scene. Now I just needed his Juliet, and this was going to prove a bit trickier. I needed her to be digi as well so she could go small and Karate Anya stepped into the role with some moderate altering to her hair and clothes.
Once I had those two nailed down the rest of the card was easy peasy. I finally got to cut into some oooooooooooooold DCWV paper that I've had for ages because it totally reminded me of an old world structure with its arch looking border all around it. With just a few cuts, a copic colored doorway, some Prima flowers and a pop dot or two Juliet had her balcony. To complete the card I came across this Little Paper Shop sentiment and thought it couldn't be more perfect. Ahhhh, success... such a great feeling!
Ok, so that's the story behind my Book Inspired card, now it is your turn to get creative and take the challenge too! :)
Talk to you anon. ;) Supply list:
