Bubble over with fun...

Hi again!

There is no new release at Sweet November Stamps today as we are busy behind the scenes getting the next clear releases ready and prepping for a totally FIN-TASTIC MerMay! We still wanted to have some fun this weekend though, so the team is diving into mermaids with a review of last year's clear sets; the Mermees and the Merwees.  For my first card today I paired two of the fabulous Mermees and colored them into a sunny, beach scene.

For my second card I inked up the darling curly haired Merwee along with a school of little seahorses and colored them into a narrow space bordered by seaweed on my card front, creating a CAS design with lots of white space.

I will be keeping the mermaid fun going when I color a sneak peek of this month's newsletter freebie Live this morning at 11am PST over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. There is also a posting game going on this weekend in the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group and all you have to do for a chance at winning your choice of a Mermee clear stamp set or $20 coupon off digis in the store is to share a card using any clear or digi Sweet November mermaid!

See ya there!

Little things...

Hello friends!

It's time for a new Scenic Saturday over on the Bellarific blog and I couldn't wait to pull out some stamps from the newest release to ink up. I thought it would be cute to do some masking and pair Curvy Girl Holding Hands with Daddy's Little Girl to create a sweet family all gathered together. It looks like they've spent a lovely day out together and now as the kids are getting tuckered out it is time to head back home. The pretty spring garden background was inspired by the new Copic Enchantment online course from Sandy Allnock. Lately I've been feeling a bit stagnant in my coloring so I needed to shake things up and stretch my creative muscles. I haven't even completed the entire course yet and I already find myself feeling reinvigorated and trying new things. It was fun to take the inspiration from a slimline scene class and change the color palette to suit my story as well as condense it down to work on a smaller A2 sized card front. I believe it is so important to always keep growing in your art and when you hit those plateaus don't be afraid to look outside yourself for that next step that keeps you moving forward in your creative journey.

Stay crafty!

Happy Day...

TGIF everybody!

So my desk always tends to be a bit of a crafty mess. Stamp sets that I've just added to my collection or ones that I've pulled for previous projects don't always get put back right away. That's not always a bad thing though, as I tend to find treasures there when I sit down to craft. Which was exactly the case yesterday when I spotted the Happy Day set from Colorado Craft Company still sitting on my desk after I had borrowed the buzzing bees for a previous card. This sweet bear was just begging to get inked up and I decided to try something different and do some Copic coloring on light kraft card stock rather than my usual Copic or Catherine Pooler choices. It was a fun challenge and a great way for me to shake things up a bit. It took a bit to get used to and I kept the background pretty simple since I didn't want to lose all of the kraft back there. The white accents were added in using a white Prisma color pencil and it definitely adds a nice pop to the scene. All in all I can totally see myself doing some more coloring on kraft in the near future. :)

 Later gators!

You make life sweeter...

Olo!

Sorry I was MIA yesterday, I've been swamped working on lots of things 'behind the scenes' and just didn't have time to make a card to share. But I promise it will all be worth it soon enough. However, I was able to squeeze in one more card using another of the new background stamps from Hello Bluebird for my post today. The Diamond Daze background stamp is a cool print with a lot of movement and energy to it so I wanted to keep my treatment of it fairly simple. I ended up using white embossing powder and heat embossing the stamp onto a light kraft card stock, which I then used as the main panel on my card front. Diamond Daze also has kind of a mod, retro vibe which lead me to inking up this cute badger from the Autumn Gatherings set. With that little cap and glasses he makes me think of the 60's for some reason. The rest of the little scene was put together by stamping and masking bits and pieces from a handful of different sets.   :)

Ok then, time for me to get busy again. Have a good one!
