Dragonflies and fairies

Hiya friends!

It's back to work for me but I'm feeling refreshed and ready to take on a new week so it's all good. :)

I watched How to Train Your Dragon for the first time yesterday and I'm not ashamed to say that it made it into my top five fave animated features... LOVED it! Great story and awesome visuals made for a fantastic show and it totally has me obsessing a bit about dragons now... I wonder if Sweet November Land needs some resident dragons? Hmmmmm... LOL!

Until that time I guess dragonflies will just have to be a substitute, like on my card today. ;)
I made this with the Flutter By challenge in mind. The theme this week is fall and I had these paper scraps that needed using up which I think are perfectly fall looking. I paired them up with a Pergamano Summer Fairy since I thought the mushroom was very fallish and she could be too just by coloring her in the right colors. Once again I punched the dragonflies out of both vellum and pattern paper, snipped the wings off of the pattern paper ones leaving only their bodies to then glue onto the vellum. I like how this double punching makes the dragonflies look more realistic with the see-through wings and it is so easy to do.

I guess I should go look for a dragon to train... it would be cool to get to fly into work. Talk about a time saving commute! LOL :)

  1. Oh Amy, I love this. She is so sweet sitting there with her butterflies to play with. Love, love the colors. It is funny that you should mention it, but we watched How to train you dragon on Friday and OMG, we all loved. If fact I can not remember what post this week it is, but I also mentioned the movie. Did you take the quiz yet. My name if I was a viking would be something fasttalker.lol..I can not find the paper I wrote it on. Mitchell is Olaf the fasttalker. Anyway, have a super day at work. So far so good for me even thought I woke up with a headache this morning. :o)

  5. This is a gorgeous card. We took the kids to the movies to see this movie and it was my DS (3 yo) first time at a theatre and he loved it. As soon as we started seeing the commercial that it was being released, both kids asked for it for Christmas but since DH and I both loved it as well, I went and bought it this weekend. They were very excited and we have watched it about 3 times since then:)
