Hi there!
Once again it's my turn to share some inspiration on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page
and I've got a lovely little mermaid from Honey Bee Stamps swimming by in a sea full of love. This braided beauty is from the Under the Sea set and the sentiment is from the Mermaid Song set. I stamped her in Desert Sand ink so that I could do no line coloring and I also did a tiny bit of altering by wiping away the lines on her arms and neck that created a shirt and colored in a kelp bralette instead. I also did a bit of masking on her hands so she could hold a sea shell that is part of the set as well. She is so peaceful and serene looking that I decided to "halo" her in soft rays of light shining down into the water. I can just imagine her bobbing along in the soft sway of a gentle current, letting the little fish flipper past. :)
Ok, there is still time to create something for our current "flowers" themed challenge. As always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store up for grabs and the store is full of fabulous new finds!

Happy Birthday...
Hello crafty friends!
This card goes back a couple months to the March TGF release but I just realized that I hadn't shared it here yet. This musical duo is part of the Sing It set and they are here to entertain us with a birthday tune. I mean come on, how cute would it be to have a pair of monkeys serenading you on your big day? LOL! I really love how these small TGF critters fit so nicely into a circle or arch die allowing me to create a contained scene for them and still have room on the card to play with paper and other goodies. :)
Ta ta for now!

Thank you...
Hey there!
My friend Tracey and I recently made a trip across the mountains over to Seattle for a fun day of crafty shopping. Our first stop was at Ellen Hutson, where I added a couple more of these super cute Leading Ladies stamps to my collection. While we were there picking up our orders THE Ellen Hutson herself came and said hello and even took 10 minutes or so out of her busy day to chat Copics and stamping with us, it was so awesome! I know that I can speak for both Tracey and myself when I say that that simple act of kindness really made our day extra special. As soon as we pulled out of the parking lot we both knew we wanted to create a special thank you card for Ellen and I thought it would be fun to use her Leading Ladies to do it. I ended up altering the Crafty Lady by wiping away her long locks and giving her a bit of a hair cut as well as drawing in Tracey's signature specs to create the stamped version of her. My mini me was Photo Lady and I only needed to add a little shopping bag to her hand to have her fit the scene. Then I just used my Copics to sketch in the entrance to the Ellen Hutson store behind us, which was pretty easy considering all those windows and door are basically just a grid of different sized rectangles. I really hope that Ellen likes her card. :)
Catch ya later!

Waving hello...
Hello, hello!
It's been a busy Memorial Day weekend, which hasn't left me with a lot of time to get crafty. Luckily I have a few extra cards from previous previews still waiting in the wings. This little Ian is from the Beach Bums set that was released at The Greeting Farm earlier this month and I love how these stamps can work to create bird's eye view scenes of them laying on the beach or flip it and have them floating in the waves like I did on this card. By masking the inner tube and stamping Ian over top, he looks like he is bobbing along in the cool waters. After the weekend I've had, I'm kinda wishing I could join him, LOL!
Alrighty, gotta run. Have a good one!
Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzil and Catherine Pooler

Dream Big Little Mermaid...
TGIF!
I've waited almost a year to ink up this fabulous Tiny Townie Mermaid set from Stamping Bella. Why the heck did I wait so long you ask? Well she wasn't released until after my month of mermaids so by the time I got her I had moved on seasonally with my card making and I am just OCD like that. But I can tell you right now that she was worth the wait 'cause boy did I enjoy making this card. I wanted to use the Under the Sea backdrop stamp to give her a bit of a home but I also wanted the card to stand vertical and the backdrop stamp is designed with a horizontal card in mind. So I decided to stamp the mermaid behind the treasure chest, creating a nice break that I could then stamp one side of the backdrop on and then move the stamp to get the other side showing and conveniently hide the seem. This worked out quite well if you ask me and now I'm wondering if I can't make the same trick work for some of my other backdrop stamps in the future. Next I got to coloring and I decided to keep the color palette rather soft and light since it seemed to suit her dreamy, romantic look. I just think she is gorgeous with all that curly hair floating around her.
Now I know it may be too much to ask but I would certainly love to see more Tiny Townie mermaids introduced this year because she deserves to have a whole school of mer friends to swim the seas with. I mean the last release had four fairies, why not four mermaids? Whose with me?! LOL
Anywho, I am entering this card into the Bellarific monthly challenge since it is an easy "anything goes" theme. Wish me luck and have a wonderful long weekend everybody!

You are a magical mermaid...
Olo!
Tuesday I did a live coloring video over in the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group and this Gorjuss mermaid was the subject of said video. She is called Awashed and as you can see from my card she is one of the super sized Gorjuss Girls that really fill up the front of an A2 sized card. Which is great fun if you just want to go to town with your coloring. Because most of the original Gorjuss Girl art tends to be more dark and muted I wanted to take this mermaid in a completely different direction. So out came the bright purples, pinks and oranges and now she is a happy little goldfish mer. For the background I simply colored some blue green water using my Copics and added some stamped details with the kelp looking reeds by masking her off first. After the video was filmed and I started putting the card together I did decide to go back and add a few more reeds stamped on top of her which really helped to place Awashed right in the middle of that kelp bed. So if you've got an hour and a half to kill and want to see how she came together I hope you go catch a replay of that live video. :)
Toodles!
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink and Catherine Pooler

Let's be mermaids...
Hello, hello!
I'm posting on the Greeting Farm blog today and I just had to play around with a little Mer-May magic before the month ends. One of the great things about the new Happy to Sea You set that was just released is not only do the sea critters work together to build scenes but they also mix and match with older stamps quite beautifully. For my card I really wanted to create an under the sea scene with the fabulous mermaid Trishell. To help fill out the rest of the scene I added the crab and starfish from Happy to Sea You as well as some smaller starfish from the Little Mermaids set. I love how these little additions bring so much interest and life to the overall card design. I gotta say that after completing this card the wheels are definitely turning on all the different sets I can mix and match with these fintastic sea critters. :)

So happy to sea you...
Hello, hello!
Today I'm sharing another one of the cards I made for the Greeting Farm release last week. As I was coming up with ideas for the Happy to Sea You set with all of the different sea critters, I knew I wanted to do something fun with this cute little shark. At first I was thinking about masking him into a whole school of sharks swimming across the card but as I looked at him with that toothy grin something else came to mind. What if instead he was confronted by something else... or rather someone else. That's where Chibi Diver comes into play. I just love this cutie and because she is a digital stamp I could easily scale her down to the same size as Mr. Sharky and flip her to face all those pearly whites of his. The Happy to Sea You sentiment was perfect for these two and it still makes me chuckle that the speech bubble implies that Mr. Sharky is the one thinking it. Now I'm not saying anything bad is about to happen to that little Diver but the potential of where this scene could go totally cracks me up. Which always leaves me feeling very satisfied with my card making, LOL! ;)
Talk at'cha later!

If you want kindness...
Good morning!
Well, it's the 21st and that means it is time for a new challenge over on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page. Since the "rain" challenge just wrapped up it only makes sense that the next challenge would be all about the "flowers" those showers bring. So pull out a floral stamp, some pretty floral papers or lovely flower embellishments and get crafty! For my inspiration card I inked up the super cute Emma and Aime stamp from Whimsy. The two little fairies sharing the flower were too perfect to pass up. I also grabbed the Echo Park Imagine That paper pad once again because I especially love the pretty floral prints in it and the color scheme is fabulous. I was going to end the floral goodness there but I didn't love how my colored flower turned out so I solved that problem by adhering some Prima flowers right on top of it. That's why I live my life by the Bob Ross mantra, "There are no mistakes, just happy accidents". I am also entering this into the current "anything goes" challenge at the Whimsy Stamps challenge blog. :)
Now it's your turn to create something for our "flowers" challenge. As always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store up for grabs and there is so much cool new stuff in there, you gotta check it out!
Supply list:

Happy Birthday...
TGIF!
A couple weeks back I was the lucky winner of the April Mood Board challenge at Craftin' Desert Divas and I just had to add this sweet Magical Princess digi to my growing CDD collection. I really wanted to play around with the whole Rapunzel in her tower idea to I scaled the digi down to a smaller size leaving plenty of room to add the scene around her. Rapunzel is printed in a light grey scale so that I could do the no-line coloring technique and I love the dreamy quality this lends to the card. The sentiment from Impression Obsession is a new one that I just had to get since I can relate to the introverting theme. Heck, most of my days are spent interacting with animals more than people, LOL! The pretty pink and green color scheme along with the florals is inspired by the May Mood Board so once again I am entering the challenge.
I hope you have a crafty weekend and I shall see ya on Monday!

Your thoughtfulness touched me...
Good morning!
Dreamerland Crafts' first new release of 2018 is hitting store shelves and I love the new Mix and Match line of clear stamps that they've come out with. If you are a stamper who enjoys creating backgrounds for your characters or have been wanting to try it out but have been too intimidated then these are just what you need! The various elements in the different sets work together so easily and just like that you've got a fantastic scene to color up. For my card today I inked up the brand new Fairy in desert sand and masked her off so she could rest on the large mushroom from the Mushrooms and Grass set. Then I added the row of birch in the distance using the Trees and Leaves 01 set. Coloring up this sweet, magical scene was so much fun and I am so happy with how it all turned out. :)
Toodles!

Go on with your bad self...
Hello crafty friends!
It's my turn to share some inspiration on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page and I've done a bit of mixing up stamp companies to create this lovely spring day in the park. The cool skater chick is part of the Deep Red City Girls Spring Time set and I inked her up in desert sand for some no line coloring. I really wanted to give her an outdoor setting to inhabit and right away I knew that the Mix and Match lamp posts from Dreamerland would make it super easy to create a park pathway. Because you get so many different sizes of lamp posts in the set it takes all of the guess work out of creating the illusion of distance. I've done this technique by hand in the past but I gotta tell you that being able to stamp them in one go with my Misti really sped up the card making process and there is no going back for me! I stamped the posts in grey instead of black so that I could add a bit of dimension to them with darker grey Copic markers. After all that the rest of the park really came to life and I love how it looks like she is on her way to hang out with fellow boarders and practice her 180 kickflip. ;)
By the way, there is still time to create something for our current "rain" themed challenge. As always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store up for grabs and Kelly is getting all sorts of exciting new goodies every day!

Oceans of Love...
Hello, hello!
Well here we are at the fourth and final day of May previews for The Greeting Farm and we are wrapping things up with the Happy to Sea You set. This stamp set is chalk full of various sea creatures that are not only fun to mix and match with each other but they also coordinate wonderfully with past sets like Make a Splash and Little Mermaids as well. I was so inspired by all of the different card making possibilities within this set that I actually made four cards, the rest of which can be found over on the TGF blog today. The one I chose to share here first uses all the little critters that can be found in shallower waters. I used masking to group them together and then challenged myself to try and recreate the look of light reflecting under water. It's not perfect, but I learned a lot and I still think it generally gives the scene the "snorkeling in the shallows" kind of look that I was going for. ;)
Alrighty, you know what to do... head on over to the TGF blog for even more Happy to Sea You fishy fun from myself and my fellow Farmers. And don't forget that the entire release will be available for purchase tomorrow as well as a chance to win all four of the May stamp sets by participating in the blog hop! Supply list:

S'more fun...
TGIF my friends!
We are on the third day of May previews for The Greeting Farm and we've got a great new set of Littles full of outdoor adventure. The set is called S'more Fun and it has all the elements to stamp up fun camping scenes for your summer time cards. Included are four cute campers, fire pit, marshmallow on a stick, lantern, grass blades, shooting star, two pine trees, three tents and a trailer along with a few sentiments. So. Much. Stuff! The scene building potential with all these stamps is crazy, especially when I added a few extra trees from the Save the Day set. That's another benefit to continue adding to your Littles collection of sets, they are all scaled to mix and match together perfectly. For my first card I really wanted to take advantage of the whole roasting marshmallows over an open fire and create a summer night scene. I'm sure these two are trading spooky ghost stories and having a wonderful time out under the stars.
Alrighty, you know what to do... head on over to the TGF blog for even more S'more Fun from the Farmers. And don't forget we've got one more set to peek on Monday before the entire release will be available for purchase on the 15th! :) Supply list:
