Good morning!
The forecast for this weekend says rain, rain and more rain so when it came time to find a stamp for today's card I was inspired to go in that direction. I pulled out my Hello Bluebird binder and flipped through until I found just the little umbrella toting gal that I was looking for. This cutie is part of the Rainy Day stamp set as well as the sentiment and one of the ducklings. I borrowed the other two ducklings from the Puddle Play set to add some extra fun to this soaked scene. Once I had them all stamped on, it was time to color and I wanted to try my hand at a rainy background that almost had a watercolor look to it even though I was using my Copics. I found that the trick is to lay down a layer of colorless blender before adding the colors so they all went on and instantly blended into a soft, hazy look. In contrast I wanted her to be nice and bright in all that yellow so as to tie directly back to the sentiment I chose to pair with her. This one was definitely a challenge but I learned a lot from it and I'm kinda anxious to give it another go sometime soon. :)
Alrighty then, see ya in 24!
