Who glows there...

Good morning!

I gotta tell you, I have had the general idea for this card stuck in my head ever since I first got my hands on the darling Frightful Little Bits set from Hello Bluebird. I love, love, love this wee little ghostie decked out in specs and toting a lantern. I could just picture him floating through a dark wood at night, lighting the way as he goes... both with the lantern and his own glowing body. The only real shift in design came when I added the new Gallery Frame #5 die to my collection and I decided to use it and break up the scene into three separate little vignettes. I really like the additional space this gave me for the scene and how it kind of looks like a comic strip now. A good mix of Halloween and non-Halloween stamp sets went into creating this scene... the trees from the Picked For You set and the distant hill from Storybook Friends are both fantastic for a number of different kinds of scenes. Pumpkin Time and Leaf Play are both more general fall type sets but all those little extra builder images work great for Halloween scenes too. I wanted the 'who glows there' sentiment to look like it was glowing too so I used white embossing powder and heat set it. But because I also left the area around it rather light the sentiment is kinda hard to read in this photo. It's a bit better in person but live and learn, right? ;)

Have a good one my friends!

  1. I love all of your cards, but this one is definitely a favorite. the way you made the ghost glow, the falling leaves, the window panes, the newly popular longer card size. It is also instructional to see how you make it seem like night by choosing the shades of blue. Really, really well done!
