Good morning!
Most of my Christmas cards that are going out this year have been mailed but I still have a couple with specific recipients in mind that I want to get cards made for sooner rather than later. This is one of those cards... I don't want to completely spoil the surprise, though she may be tipped off when she sees the cute little black and white pig. He is from the older Hello Bluebird Merry Pigs set and I paired him with a slightly altered Farmland background stamp. All I did was omit adding ink to the clouds in the background since I knew I was going to do a night scene, as well as wiping the ink away from most of the little grassy spots before stamping, so those hills could be covered in smooth snow. Once that was stamped I added the star from Merry Pigs over the barn and treated it as the main light source once I got to coloring. Lots of purples went into coloring the sky and snow with some light E40s added to the fallow fields. The little pot bellied piglet stands transfixed by the Christmas star shining above him, a subtle glow also being cast from the lantern I masked in for him to hold. I used Dr. Ph Martin's Bleed Proof white for the snow on the fence because not only does it look nice and bright but it also creates a subtle raised texture which is very cool in person. To finish it all off I borrowed a sentiment from another Hello Bluebird set called Quiet Christmas. I think the whole scene turned out really sweet and I hope my crafty pal likes it as much as I do. :)
Well, I hope your week is off to a great start. I'll see ya in 24!
