Hello again!
It's day two of holiday release previews at Hello Bluebird and tomorrow is release day with all nine new stamps sets and five stand alone dies available at 7pm MST. To check out all of the goodies being shared today be sure to head over to the the Hello Bluebird blog and leave a comment for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to the HB store.
My card today is a mini slimline size using the Nesting Deckle Mini Slimline die with the brand new Penguins on Ice stamps. This set includes six adorable penguins as well as a bunch of fun accessory images, including this awesome ice flow. I ended up using four of the penguins, the two ice skaters enjoying the ice flows and two others who have taken an icy plunge into the cold ocean waters. To make it look like the swimmers were partially beneath the waves, I stamped their heads and upper bodies with the darker Rich Cocoa Memento ink, then stamped their lower halves using the lighter London Fog Memento ink. This combined with only using the lighter Copic colors on anything beneath the water is how I convincingly create that swimming look. The sentiment is a die that comes with the Snowy Sky Scene die and I cut it out of two different colors of card stock to give it a nice drop shadow effect.
Thanks so much for dropping by and I hope you come back tomorrow for day three of the Hello Bluebird previews. :)
