Hello there!
It's time to get excited for the newest Christmas release by Anita Jeram at Colorado Craft Company. Once again, I am excited to be joining the blog hop where a whole host of talented crafters are showcasing the ten new stamp sets and their coordinating dies. To celebrate this joyous release 3C is giving away a new stamp set at each stop on the hop, so the more you comment the more chances you have to win. Entries will be accepted until midnight eastern time July 31st and winners will be randomly selected by 3C and announced on their blog August 2nd. They are also doing a HUGE complete bundle giveaway to ONE lucky winner. To be entered for that you have to use one of the designer's affiliate links when you place an order. Those links can be found on the 3C blog and will be included in one of their emails as well. In the mean time, here's the complete list of hop participants for you to check out:
For my second card I used the new Peaceful Fox set. Rather than color a traditional orange fox, I opted to make mine a white arctic fox instead. As the stamped tree had rather spindly branches, I colored the space between them with the green of the pine needles and left the drawn parts white to look like snow resting on the new branches. This gave the tree a much fuller, more substantial look on my card. Once again, the rest of the background was created using Copic markers and I added the falling snow using a Sharpie extra fine white paint pen.
My second set of cards shifts to indoor scenes and rather than the traditional reds and greens of Christmas, I chose to play with a fun mix of bright pink, chartreuse and teal on both. This first one features a pair of cute mice playing with some tree ornaments from the Mice Ornament set. I wanted it to look like they were tucked under the bottom branches of a Christmas tree so I added the trunk and branches by hand. And it's hard to see in the photo but I also added glitter to the snowman ornament to make him extra sparkly.
Finally, I inked up the sweet dog and cat from the new Gift Exchange set. I have a personal affinity for handsome tuxedo cats and I thought his friend should be a chocolate lab. I used the same bright colors as I did on the previous card, even using the Copic airbrush system to shine a spotlight on these two pals, with the bright pinks. The tiny holly stamp that I decorated the sentiment with was borrowed from the Mice Ornaments set.
Ok, time to send you on your way. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!

ReplyDeleteKeep up the fantastic work people!!! and God Bless!!!
Dear Amy - I don't know where to start. First, I was drawn to the stamp of the fox under the tree but when I went to pare things down (I can't afford it all), I kept looking at that tree and thinking that it looked spindly and would not look great on a card. I LOVE how you've used it. Maybe now I will be less afraid to order it. For the moment, I ordered other items. Second, I adore the way you colored the nighttime scenes - the dark backgrounds are very dramatic and really raise the OOOH factor. Third, the first indoor card helped me a lot... I was looking at that stamp of the mice and I thought they were with a little angel. It took your card to help me see that it was / is a snowman. Thanks!!! I love all four of your cards and now that I have picked my jaw up from the floor, I will proceed onward w/ the rest of the hop.
