You shore do make me smile...

Hello there!

Yesterday, I pulled another mermaid out of the stack of pre-stamped images that sits on my desk. This Mermaid on Rock 2 digi from the, now closed, Star Jam Lines etsy shop caught my eye. She is printed out in a lighter line so I could do some no-line coloring with her and easily cover up the patterning that was drawn onto her tail. I colored this cutie into a sea cave to create a natural frame around her and she is looking quite happy in her secret abode.    :)

Thanks for stopping by!

The tide always turns...

Good morning!

This past weekend we added the newest My Unbelievable Friend digi release at Sweet November Stamps. Of course that means I was coloring one of the new digis during my Live Saturday, over on the Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. I chose the Quiet Moments image because I felt it would fit the time frame and it was perfect for creating a seaside night scene, which has been requested a few weeks back. I skipped the air brush system and colored the entire background by hand so my fellow crafters could watch my process for creating moon glow and rippling waves. This tutorial is also timely because the current MerMay challenge is all about adding a moon/moonlight to your mermaid scenes. :)

Toodles!

You're mermazing...

Hello again!

I can't believe we are kicking off week three of MerMay fun at Sweet November Stamps already. It's true though, and the third of four new stand alone digis has been added to the store. These digis coincide with the current week's MerMay progression challenge that can be found in the Friends of Sweet November Stamps Facebook group. This week we've added Lady Low Tide to the shop and she is quite the regal beauty. With her long hair flowing all around her and a crown of kelp perched atop her head, Lady Low Tide certainly looks like a glorious sea queen. The challenge theme this week is moon/moonlight so I wanted this mermaid to not only be basking in the moonlight but to glow like the moon itself. Pale and translucent she has washed ashore in the middle of the night under the magic of a full moon. The night sky and moon were created using the Copic air brush system while the rest of the scene was colored by hand. I love how mysterious and even a little dangerous she looks in this dark night scene. Hopefully you will have fun playing with moonlight this week too and join the challenge!  :)

Have a lovely day!

My Unbelievable Friend digi release at Sweet November

Hello friends!

Some of you may remember the original My Unbelievable Friend digi release from a couple years ago at Sweet November Stamps. Well, these sweet friends have grown up a bit and they are now teenagers in this newest My Unbelievable Friend release. Time had only deepened their bond and their friendship is stronger than ever. Just like before, we find them in four different situations both above and below the sea; Going Viral, Quiet Moments, Gifts from the Sea and Trading Places

On my first card, these Unbelievable Friends are Going Viral on all the apps. Together they are an internet sensation with millions of likes. But even with all that, none of it comes close to the love of a friend.

Next, the phone has been put away and it is time for Quiet Moments. After a long day on the beach it is good to unwind and watch the sun go down, especially when you know you always have a shoulder to lean on.

It's time to dive below the waves with Gifts from the Sea. Mermaids make the best diving partners because they know where all the best under the sea wonders and treasures can be found.

Finally, sometimes it is fun to imagine Trading Places and leaving behind what is familiar for all new adventures. But none of it would be worth while without a friend by your side.

Now be sure to check out the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group on Facebook for even more My Unbelievable Friend fun from the rest of our talented design team. Also, don't forget, I will be coloring Live today at 11am PDT over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page and I hope to see ya there!
