Happy 4th of July!

Hello again!

It's a review weekend at Sweet November Stamps and because today is the 4th of July I just had to share the card that I colored Live over on the Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page during the Summer Celebrations digi release. These cute kiddos from the Summer Celebration: Sparklers and Summer Celebrations: Fireworks sets are ready to light up the night sky to celebrate the big 250. To build out the rest of the scene I added the picnic table from the Summer Celebrations: Popsicles set and the camper trailer from the Camper Life: The Parents set. They are certainly having a blast and I hope you are too!

Better at the beach...

 

Hello!

There's a new Scenic Saturday card over on the Bellariffic blog. With the current heat wave, you can't blame me for creating another beach scene this week. Especially when the latest Summer Sun digi release was full of fantastic summer images, including all of the Beach Littles builder sets. My card today pulls images from the Littles Palm Tree, Littles Umbrella and Littles Pinwheel sets. 

I think these Beach Littles builder sets are perfect now that they are digital stamps. Being able to resize and flip the images opens up so many scene building possibilities and don't get me started on how much easier it is to layer images in digi form. I started building this particular scene with the Little, sand dunes and pina colada drink from the Littles Palm Tree set. I added the sunglasses and popsicle from the Littles Pinwheel set to the top of her head and her hand. I then layered in the beach towel, umbrella and flip flops from the Littles Umbrella set. Once I had everything right where I wanted it I printed the scene onto Copic X-Press It card stock and was ready to color. The sunny yellow, hot pink and lime greens are such a classic summer color combo and this Little cutie is definitely rockin' them. With most of the scene printed out for me, all I had to color in by hand was the ocean waves and cloudy sky in the background. The sentiment is from the Just Beachy sentiment set that is exclusive when you purchase the limited time Summer Sun Bundle Deal.

Let's beat the heat with these fun critters from the Swim Buddies stamp at Purple Onion Designs. This silly goose and porky pig are ready to jump into the cool ocean waves thanks to the Beachscape Background. I'm telling you, I love how these new backgrounds take all of the guess work out of creating a scene and streamline the coloring process. The sentiment is from the Sunshine and Daydreams sentiment set and I added it after the rest of the card was put together, creating a finished card that has all of the summer vibes.  :)

Lost without you...

Hey, hey! 

I've had some time to ink up a few more scenes using stamps from the Great Outdoors release at Hello Bluebird and yesterday I colored up another one. The main characters in this cute woodland scene are from the Which Way and Banner Bear sets. I thought it would be sweet for the birds to be watching the raccoon eating a cracker, like they are waiting for him to share a few crumbs. Building the rest of the forest scene around them brought together stamps from both old and new sets. The trees came from the Picked for You and Country Roads Background, while the sign is from the In the Pumpkin Patch set, though I did alter it to a blank sign by wiping the ink from the original text before stamping. The butterflies and flowers both come from the new Summer Joy set and the sentiment that I added to the sign is from the new Trail Sign Sentiments set. Once the scene was all colored up I used the Ric Rac Card die and Ric Rac Frame Die to give it all a nice decorative edge. I hope you are having as lovely a summer day as these little critters are.  :)
