Hello...

Hello friends!

I'm sharing over on The Greeting Farm blog today and I couldn't wait to ink up one of the new beauties from the Cheeky Girly Girls kit that arrived in my mailbox recently. I've been a huge fan of the Cheekies ever since the original three, Glamour, Rockabilly and Shooter were released back in 2010. Compared to the other characters that call TGF home the Cheekies have always been a little bit naughty and super sassy! Now up until this newest clear kit all of the previous Cheekies have been in seated or kneeling positions but now the gals are standing up and ready to strut their stuff. This particular Cheeky looked to me like she was ready for a beach vacation full of surfing fun and twilight bonfires. I grabbed various scene building type stamps from my stash to help make that idea come to life. You may also notice her pink lips... if I had one pet peeve with these lovelies it was that their pretty rosebud lips always inked up black along with everything else. So this time around using a stamp platform I was able to wipe the black ink away from the lips before stamping then ink them up again using a pink ink and I LOVE the results! I really can't wait to get more of these Girly Girl Cheekies onto their own cards... who knows what what kind of fun each of them will be having.

Stay crafty... and a little sassy!  ;)

Pink and Main's 5th Birthday Blog Hop!

Hello my crafty friends!

I'm super excited to be celebrating Pink and Main's 5th Birthday as one of their guest bloggers for the big celebratory blog hop today! Five years of cute stamps and fun dies is quite the accomplishment and we think that is something worth throwing a party for! And what's a party without some gifts? Well five lucky Pink and Main friends who leave some love on every stop in the hop will each win a $50 gift certificate to the store. Now that is totally worth making the time to oooh and awww over all the amazing cards that have been made by my fellow crafters using the brand new March release! There is a whole lot of inspiration to be found in this hop and you've got until the 24th to complete it, then the winners will be announced on the Pink and Main blog March 25h.

I decided to make a fun shaker card with the new Bee-Day stamp set for the hop today. Aren't they just as cute as can bee? LOL! I stamped and masked all three of the darling bees on the bottom half of my card leaving plenty of room for the large Birthday Script sentiment up above. I love the coordinating Happy Birthday die that works with the stamp set creating a pretty outline effect on each of the letters. All together they make for a very cheery and playful birthday card.

Alrighty, so to keep this party moving the next stop on the hop is Dana at Got Joy Creations. If you get lost on the hop you can always refer back to the Pink and Main blog for the master list.

You had me at hot cocoa...

Hey there!

I'm back with my final guest designer post for Pink and Main and I have so enjoyed creating with their fun and unique stamps this month. For my card today I have combined stamps from all three of the sets I was sent to play with. The super cute hedgehog is actually from the Fall Friends set but with his sweater and scarf I knew he would be perfect for a winter card as well. After masking off the hedgie, I grabbed the Timber set and selectively inked just the log so that he would have something to rest on while he sips his cocoa. Finally I grabbed the perfect sentiment from the Cocoa Cafe stamp set to pull this card all together. The forest background was inspired by a card I recently saw on Sandy Allnock's Instagram. Her card is amazing and I've still got a long ways to go but she inspires me to be brave and try new things with my coloring, which is what it's all about. :)

Later gators!

You Warm My Heart...

Olo!

I'm back with another guest designer post for Pink and Main and this week I am working with the sweet Cocoa Cafe stamp set. This set comes with two characters, a handful of sentiments and the great Cocoa Cafe itself. And if all that wasn't good enough, the set is currently on sale right now too! Once again I found myself masking and stamping in desert sand ink to create a quaint little winter scene that looks like it was pulled straight from a picture book. I framed the festive cafe with two grey, hum drum kind of shops to make it stand out as a magical little oasis of holiday cheer. And it looks like that little guy is more than ready to head inside and sample some of their special cocoa flavors.

Toodles!

Holly jolly...

Good morning, good morning!

I am very excited to be guest designing for Pink and Main this month and my first card features one of their newest sets called, Timber. This set is full of quirky cute little lumberjacks and all of their accompanying paraphernalia. Being the time of year it is, I wanted to take my lumberjack in a decidedly North Pole direction. So I re-imagined this guy into a log rolling Santa spending one of his off days practicing for the Reindeer Games. I even used the deer head stamp from the Timber set to create an audience for ol' St. Nick. I don't know about you but they don't seem all that impressed, LOL!
I did most of my stamping in desert sand ink so that the no-line technique would create an illustrative look to the scene and when it came time to go through my frame dies I found this wood branch looking die and knew on the spot that it would be the perfect way to add even more interest to the over all design.  :)

Laters!
