Sea you soon...

Hello again!

It's a review weekend at Sweet November Stamps and this fun under the sea scene was also colored during a previous review weekend Live over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. I paired clear stamps from the Sea-sational MerMay release with a couple of digital stamps and they came together really well. Scuba Sammy and the Mermaid Reef are the digis that I printed out first, then I stamped the mermaid from the More Mer Friends set, the little sea turtle from the Seabrina set and some fish from the Ebb and Flow set. As always, I had lots of great color suggestions coming in from my fellow crafters and it was requested that I share the rippling surface technique too. I really love the story this card tells because it makes me happy to dream of just such an encounter happening out in the world, LOL!  ;)

Toodles!

Life is full of ups and downs...

Hello!

I have a new Scenic Saturday card I'm sharing on the Bellariffic blog. As we continue to make our way through the summer months, I couldn't help but start looking ahead to a new school year beginning soon. And since the best part of elementary school was always recess, that had me reaching for the cute Mini Oddballs on a Seesaw and Park Backdrop stamps.

I started by stamping the Mini Oddballs on a Seesaw then cutting out a mask for them so I could stamp the Park Backdrop right over top of them. Once the mask is removed you are left with the scenery receding into the background. The two came together so perfectly that you would think they were a single image. As I started to color them up I decided early to make all of the playground equipment a sunny shade of yellow to help play up the idea of sunshiny days and happy times. Bright, saturated greens in the grass and trees also play up the end of summer look that I was going for with these two friends. The sentiment is included in the Mini Oddballs on a Seesaw set and I stamped it on an extra strip of card stock so that I could pop it up above the completed scene. While I'm personally too old for a trip to the playground, I hope this card inspires us all to create playful moments to enjoy every day.  :)

Stay crafty my friends!

Hello Summer...

Hey, hey!

A few weekends ago I did an impromptu Live coloring over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page of a scene using images from some of the Beach Littles builder sets at Stamping Bella. I had three different scenes printed out and my fellow crafters voted that we color this cutie blowing bubbles on the beach. Most of these digis are part of the Littles Ice Cream and Lemonade set while the starfish and seashell are from the Littles Sand Castle set. Her bottle of bubbles started off as a cup of lemonade but I resized and cropped off the straw to change it up. Because they are now digis I was also able to play with the sizing of the bubbles and spread them out across the top of the card. We finished the card with a dark blue sky using the Copic air brush system which really makes this Little pop!  :)

Later gators!

You've got this...

Good morning!

This is another card that I colored during a Live over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page a few weeks back. It was during the release of the Give Me a Sign digi collection at Sweet November Stamps and I let people vote in the Friends of Sweet November Stamps Facebook group on which kid we should color.  Give Me a Sign: Thumbs Up won the vote handily (pun intended) so I printed him out nice and big to fill up the card front. We gave this happy boy white, blonde hair and added texture to his denim over-alls for a fun touch. Just like the rest of the cards that I made for this release, I used the computer to print out a big sentiment after the Live and add it to the top of the card using a word bubble border die so it looks like he is speaking. All in all, it was a great time as usual and the end result is a very cute encouraging card.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

When there is sunshine...

Hi again!

Yesterday I was over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page coloring the sweet pair of kiddos from the new Summer on the Go: Kayakers digi set. They are part of the larger Summer On the Go digi release at Sweet November Stamps, as is the coordinating shoreline background that you see here. We had a great time coloring these kiddos in bright summer colors and creating big, billowing clouds in the sky behind them. There were some technical difficulties that cut off the video just as I was getting to the background so the replays can be watched in two separate Lives, here and here. If you like these cuties be sure to check out the limited time discounted bundle deal, which basically gets you one of the seven sets for free. :)

Have a great rest of your weekend!
