Life is better with friends...

Hello!

I've been playing around a bit with the new Flying High set from Hello Bluebird and the results have been a lot of fun. Rather than use the critters in the hot air balloon basket as intended, I've instead been pairing them with different stamp sets to create all kinds of scenarios. For this first card that I'm sharing I have taken the two stamps in the Flying High set that have elephants and did some strategic inking and masking to have them right next to each other. I paired them with one of the cuties from the older Elephant Friends set and used the wall builder from the Snowball Fight set to create the wall between them. You can see the transformation from snow fort to rock wall is as simple as your color choices. With all of that masked off I added in some tropical looking leaves and flowers using the Jungle Littles and More Jungle Littles sets until I finally had my desired scene. Who knows, maybe these two are convincing their new friend to go on a hot air balloon ride with them, LOL!

Well thanks for stopping by!

Pampered and Spoiled...

Hey there!

I've found myself with limited crafting time once again so when I did get a chance to sit down and create I needed something I could put together fairly quickly. There was no time for masking and building a scene, I needed that already done for me. It's these times when the large Anita Jeram stamps at Colorado Craft Company come in so handy! Like this cute kitty from the For Mom set, it fits perfectly in the smaller inside panel created when I die cut this doily lace frame from Mama Elephant, one impression and I had my entire scene right there, ready to color. Usually when given a fun quilt like this to color my tendency is to have a lot of pink but I wanted to change things up this time so I went with a yellow and grey combo on the bedding with pops of blue coming into the mix on the tea set and wall. I was a little worried that it wasn't reading as feminine as I would have liked... until I added that doily frame around the scene and then the whole card looked super girly, LOL! And even though this stamp set is technically geared towards Mother's Day cards I think this works great for a birthday card too. :)

Ok, gotta run... have a good one!

Best news ever...

Good morning!

I'm kicking off a brand new week with another card using stamps from the fantastic A Happy Little Place collection that recently released at Purple Onion Designs. For this one I built an entire city street using the Bookstore and the Flower Shop background stamps. Out in front we find Alex, the owl, selling newspapers and I went back to an older collection to add Brian, the bear, who has made his purchase and is now taking in the latest news and events. The sentiment is another one from the Around the Town sentiment set that coordinates perfectly with the Happy Little Place characters.  :)

Hope your week is off to a great start!

I smile from fin to fin...

Olo!

Three new Mermaid Pals digital stamps were added to the
Sweet November Stamps shop yesterday. As much as I love the mermaids, the various sea critters they are paired with make me oh so happy. And the best part is how once you have a few in your collection it is fun to mix and match them all up. This newest release introduced us to Fleet Currentglider and Mak the Mako shark, Melody Shoresong and the puffins Cliff and Windy as well as Glacia Iceflow with Blanca the beluga whale. Yesterday I colored Glacia and Blanca during my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook video and we went over things like matching tones when choosing which colors to use to help keep a scene looking consistent. I had a great group of ladies join me and offer wonderful suggestions as this friendly scene came together and other than a couple connection issues a great time was had by all. :)

Here's to a fantastic rest of the weekend!
