In all things Give Thanks...

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm just popping in real quick with a card celebrating the gathering of family and friends around the Thanksgiving feast. Most of these cuties are from the new Stacey Yacula Home for the Holidays collection and I added Rosemary, the turkey, into the happy scene. This also lead me to alter the food offerings a bit as I thought it might be awkward if Stanley, the penguin, was carrying in a cooked turkey to the table. From the look of things, everyone is having a wonderful time together and what more can any of us ask for?  :)

Before I let you go, there is a 25% OFF stamp sale starting at Purple Onion Designs tomorrow that will run until December 5th, making it a great time to do a little holiday shopping.

Big holiday hugs my friends!

Happy Thanksgiving...

Hello there!

I am continuing on with my personal challenge to create a card a month using the Miss Anya All Year kit. With the Thanksgiving holiday falling tomorrow here in the States, I figured this cute Miss Anya loaded up with grocery bags would be perfect for a Thanksgiving day card. I even grabbed the chubby pup from the All Year kit to join her in the kitchen I created using the Build-a-Kitchen digital set. With the pre-made kitchen background included in the digital set it was quick and easy to pop it into Microsoft Word and simply add the turkey to the oven, a pot and pan cooking on the stove top as well as a couple other appliances on the countertop. I like to think that Miss Anya started cooking the meal and realized she was out of a few key ingredients so she had to pop to the grocery store real quick. Of course when you go shopping on an empty stomach you always come back with more than you intended, LOL!

I did alter Miss Anya's clothing just a bit to make it more appropriate for colder weather, since Thanksgiving in my neck of the woods is always chilly and grey. The only black lines I had to draw in where in turning her heels into boots, the rest was done through simply coloring on tights and long sleeves. Now she is ready and looking good for when company starts to arrive for the big feast and that rolly polly pup is ready to beg for some turkey scraps.  ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by and here's wishing all those celebrating tomorrow a very happy Thanksgiving!

Hello there!

Free shipping at Colorado Craft Company ends tonight at midnight mountain time, all you gotta do is type in FREESHIPPING3C at check out to take advantage of the deal. So if you've been thinking about grabbing a few stamps from this newest super cute release by Anita Jeram don't wait too much longer. The blog hop give-aways also wrap up tonight and all of the winners will be announced on the 3C blog on the 25th. For my card today I've paired the Getting Ready set with the Hanging Stockings mini set and I gotta tell you... it's like these two were meant to go together! All I did was wipe away the ink from the little bird standing on the ground in the Getting Ready scene before stamping, then I simply stamped the extra branch and mouse from the Stockings mini set right on the empty side of the tree. Fits like a glove I tell ya! To complete the scene I colored these cuties into a snowy birch wood forest using pretty shades of blue violet.

Just a heads up before I go... the 3C Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale will be 15% off (Free Shipping over $75.00) and the promo code will be: BF2CM (Black Friday To Cyber Monday) Sale ends Monday at midnight mountain time. This doesn't start until Friday and will end Monday night. :)

It's Christmas in the heart...

Hey, hey!

Yesterday we released the new Christmas is Back digital stamps at Sweet November Stamps and I enjoyed coloring some of these cute kiddos Live on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. I did another tall slimline card to really take advantage of the height of that window and create not only a scene in front of it but the world outside as well. Once again the Spooky Moon came into play and I used the houses on a hill digi from the Gnome Home background set far off in the distance. The whole scene inside the house was a nice lesson on back lighting and shadows. :)

I also finally got around to finishing the two cards that I colored Live last Sunday for the Christmas clear release so I'm adding them both here. This first one featuring the X-Mas X-Press elves was colored in the afternoon and I even pulled out my Copic airbrush system early in the video to show how I do that stenciled brick wall. The second card has a choir of cute angels from the Joyful Noise clear set that I colored earlier in the morning. We had a bit of a human rainbow thing going on there while keeping the rest of the card pretty monochromatic up on their puffy cloud stage.

Before I go... just a reminder to check for your Sweet November newsletter tonight. Not only is there the monthly free digi but also information about our one and only sale of the year, you don't want to miss it!

Later gators!

Christmas memories last a lifetime...

Hello again!

We have a super sweet new Christmas digital release at Sweet November Stamps this weekend and it is called Christmas is Back. The release includes both standing and kneeling boys and girls, dressed in their Christmas Eve pajamas and seen from behind. The coordinating background set includes a large picture window as well as a dog and cat, both seen from behind as well. All together they can be mixed and matched to create a number of different versions of wistful winter window scenes. And because the window is png you can also easily layer other scene builder images to create the outdoor landscape too. For this magical midnight ride scene I grabbed the Spooky Moon, pine tree from the North Pole Friends set and Santa Sleigh silhouette from the Gnome Home background set and brought them all together to complete the story this card is telling.

Now be sure to check out the darling cards over at the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group on Facebook for even more Christmas is Back inspiration from Caitlin and Tee. I will also be coloring Live this morning at 11am PST on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page and hope to see you there. :)
