So fairy sweet of you...

TGIF!

I've been quite busy working behind the scenes to get ready for a few different stamp releases that are coming up. With so much of my crafty time going to cards that I can't share right away it doesn't leave me with much time for these day to day posts. So to save some time I decided to go back to my card making roots and not create much of a colored background, instead relying on background stamps and die cuts to add some interest. This little cutie from the CC Designs Fairy Friends set was the perfect size to fit with the circle thank you die from MFT and she was super quick to color. I used the Taylored Expressions Twinkle Twinkle background stamp to add a bit more magic to the card and the entire color scheme was inspired by the Catherine Pooler Retro Winter inks which I think work great for fall cards. Now I don't think I will be giving up my background coloring any time soon but it was fun to play around with all these other goodies again. :)

Have a good one my friends!

You are brewtiful...

Hey there!

I'm up on the TGF blog today and I thought it would be fun to play with some of the great digital stamp sets found in the TGF store. Miss Anya Dress Up comes with so many great outfits that you can play with, just like the old paper doll books that I remember from my childhood. Since my card making and scene building have been turning more towards fall I decided to dress Anya in a chic sweater and jeans ensemble. Then I had to figure out where she was going and that is when I grabbed this building from the Store Fronts digi set. I chose the tall and narrow building because it fit perfectly on this slimline card design. I added the little coffee logo to the ground floor window because I thought it would be cute if she lived above a coffee shop. To make it more homey up there I grabbed the cute poodle from the Cheeky Shop digi set and a vase of flowers from the Store Fronts set that I cropped a bit shorter. I went with a range of warm browns on the stucco building to help reflect the coffee theme and added a lamp post out front on the sidewalk for added interest. The sentiment is from the Mini Remix Brewtiful clear stamp set and I think it ties the whole scene together quite nicely. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a brewtiful day!

I love our adventures...

Hey there!

I got the new double stitched slimline dies in my last MFT order and when I saw that they host a slimline challenge every month I figured this was the perfect excuse to break those dies out of their packaging and have a play. The theme this month is 'Feeling Fall' and as I flipped through my binder of Birdie Brown stamps the Adorable Adventures set caught my eye. If you ask me, fall is the best time to go for a hike... all the beautiful colors and the mild temps make for magical adventuring. So I stamped up this hike on the largest slimline die in the set, using all four of the cute kiddos and a bunch of the extras until I had a seriously cute fall scene. And the bonus win is that I got another as yet unloved stamp set crossed off my list and onto a card of its own. As I colored in the forest and trees in the background I stayed with a stylized look that matched the stamped bushes up front to keep the look cohesive. I gotta say, this is one of those rare cards that turned out almost exactly like I initially imagined it in my head and I love it to bits!

Later gators!  :)

Just chicken in...

Good morning!

I recently got my order from the anniversary sale at Purple Onion Designs. and I couldn't wait to ink up some of my new stamps. It was hard to choose who to create with first but in the end Eloise the hen and her chicks Mo, Flo and Bo were the winners. Behind them I stamped the hen house and even further in the distance the Pond Background. I even used a mirror image stamp to flip a couple of the chicks and give Eloise a bigger brood. Since I didn't have any chicken themed sentiment stamps in my collection I ended up using my computer to print this punny sentiment right on my card front. I love how happy they all look together.  :)

Alrighty, take care and I'll see ya in 24!
