It's not death we should fear...

Hello friends!

I'm popping in on a Sunday to share a card using one of the new stamps that just dropped at 7 Kids Crafts yesterday. Their September release is full of Halloween/Day of the Dead and Fairy cuteness that I simply couldn't resist! This Dia de Los Muertos beauty called, La Catrina was the first of my new stamps to get inky. I really cut loose with all the color in her outfit and flowers as I was heavily influenced by all of the colorful costumes that popped up when I did a quick Google search. Then I masked La Catrina and used dark Distress Inks in the background for a nice contrast that would really set her off. I thought the scalloped white frame references back to her hat and fan in a very pleasing way and again adds another layer of contrast. She looks like a little jewel of light and color and I simply couldn't be happier with this card. :)

Toodles!

Live like a mermaid...

Hey there!

I finally got my hands on the new MMedel stamp sets from 7 Kids and I couldn't wait to get them inky! All three of the new sets are just fantastic but of course I had to color up one of the mermaids first. The set is called Make Waves and it comes with two lovely mermaids, two sentiments and a bunch of fun extras like the octopus and fish that I used here. Because Maria's characters always seem to have a cute cheeriness about them I wanted to have the scene be nice and bright and upbeat so I added some sunshine through my use of yellow on some of the kelp that I sketched in behind the rocks. That with the bright greens really set off these cuties quite nicely I think. I really had a lot of fun with this one and I know the other sets won't be too far behind on getting onto cards of their own too. ;)

Later gators!

So sorry...

Hey there!

I'm sure most have you have already gotten your hands on this lovely Stay Home digi set freebie over at 7 Kids. She came out a few weeks back and while I started coloring her right away I got a bit sidetracked and didn't finish the card until recently. She sure is a pretty little Miss with just the right amount of attitude to pull off this slightly snarky sentiment. All of the images included are png which makes it super easy to manipulate their size and create different scene with them. This digi set is drawn by the same artist that designed the very first clear stamp release at 7 Kids full of fun kitten antics so if you prefer physical stamps be sure to check those out.

Alrighty then, my sister got the new Animal Crossing game for her birthday and I'm doing my best not to get sucked into it with her. Though it is hard for me to resist the fun of designing clothes for her little character, LOL! Wish me luck on having a productive day. ;)

Sweet November March release day 2...

Hi friends!

Yesterday we introduced the four Bunny Tails digital stamps to the 7 Kids store and celebrated with two Live coloring videos over in the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group. The two cards that I am sharing today were both colored during those Lives and as always, we had a great time creating these fun scenes together.

For the first Live I gave Bunny Nibbles a whimsical tree house and babbling brook to call home.
And for the second Live Bunny Art got paired up with Lambert and he has been a naughty bunny practicing his egg painting right on Lambert's silky soft wool. All in all it was a great way to wrap up the Sweet November digital releases at 7 Kids. All of the images will be available in the store until April 1st so make sure you get what you want before then and don't forget to download any purchases onto a hard drive for back up. :)

Hippity hop, Easter is on it's way...

Hello friends!

Changes are happening with Sweet November and 7 Kids and after many wonderful digi releases together this will be the final one. The reasons are exciting and good for both Kelly and myself but that doesn't mean this ending isn't a tad bitter sweet. Still, in order for growth and new opportunities to happen change is inevitable and even though it can be scary and sad we can be grateful for our time together while looking forward to the future.

So for this final Vault release we are getting ready for Easter with the Bunny Tails bunnies that were originally released back in 2014. These four long eared laddies have plenty to keep them busy as they hop from one task to the next. Whether it is painting eggs, hiding eggs, collecting butterflies, or even digging up a carrot or two it is difficult to find them resting for even a moment.
This month's FREEBIE to all  7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group members is Lambert, the lamb. He will be available to grab free for the next two days and then will move into the store for purchase through March. Come April first he and all of the Sweet November images will no longer be available in the 7 Kids store.

And finally we have our exclusive March Mer Tot that all of the participants of the February SN challenge will be getting. We know that sometimes it can be intimidating to put ourselves out there and share our creativity so these monthly Mer Tots will be our way of thanking everyone who plays along and shares the Sweet November love. There will still be one final SN challenge with one last Mertot coming in April so I hope to see you all play along!

Now don't miss out on all the fun and Live coloring videos I will be doing in the  7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group today as well, we would love to have you join us!

Love you furever...

Hey there!

I'm getting ready for the Sweet November digi release at 7 Kids this weekend so I figured I should make sure this cutie patootie got posted before the new images come out. Duncan and Donut are part of the Puppy Love digi release and I colored these two during one of the Live videos at the beginning of the month. We changed things up and did a simple indoor scene complete with a sleek mod sofa and the hint of a window pane with the cast shadow on the carpet. It's almost like these two are just waiting for the rain to pass so they can get outside and toss that ball in a game of fetch. :)

Have a good one my friends!

Winter Gorjuss ATCs...

Olo!

It's a pretty busy week around here so I figured I would share a these ATC cards that I made for the 7 Kids swap last month. The theme was 'anything goes' and I inked up a bunch of the mini Gorjuss Girls for some winter themed cards. The smaller size of the ATCs are always such a great way to practice a multitude of backgrounds. But as much fun as these were to create at the time, I'm glad and oh-so-ready to be moving into a new season of crafting. ;)

Ok, gotta run!

Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink and Catherine Pooler
stamps- Santoro (Mini Gorjuss Girls)
ink- Memento tuxedo black

Part of my pack...

Good morning!

7 Kids is hosting its first Instagram Hop today as a way to introduce the new team. The hop starts at 10 am PST and to participate all you have to do is visit each team members Instagram account and leave a comment on their post. When you're finished head to 7 Kids' Instagram account and leave a comment on their post that you completed the Hop! You have until 2pm MTN on Wednesday Feb 19th to comment. One random winner will win a $20 gift card to the store!

All of the cards today are featuring the new Puppy Love digi release from Sweet November so I figured this was the perfect time to share one that I colored during the release Lives at the beginning of the month. This darling duo is Coco and Pebble and I colored them heading off to the dog park for a fun filled day. So many great suggestions came in during the Live, like the camo print and adding a little coat to the pup... it's those interactions that really make doing the Lives so much fun. :)

Alrighty, I'll have a full list of the hop participants up on my Instagram @amyyoungforever in a few hours when the hop starts. Have fun and good luck!

Puppy Love day 2...

Hiya friends!

It's day 2 of the February Sweet November digital release at 7 Kids Crafts. Yesterday we introduced six cute kiddos and their faithful four-legged friends in the Puppy Love collection. We have been celebrating the new release with games, give-aways and Live coloring videos over in the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group. There is also a special 25% OFF deal on the new release but hurry because that offer ends tomorrow along with everything else.

The two cards that I am sharing today were both colored during my Lives yesterday and if you happen to go check out the replay on the second one I apologize now because my phone died with about 5 minutes left to go on the card. Still, even with that small set back we had a great time with both of these.

For the first Live we did a new take on Mickey and the Nuggets and I shared how I do the faux watercolor looking background that was inspired by Alberto Gava. The colors came out so bright and happy that I decided to turn this into a playful birthday card.
And for our second Live Frank and Bean were colored into a fun outdoor scene. It's always fun to come up with the story with everyone as we color and I think we settled on an adoption day at the animal shelter for this card. As happy as both of these cuties look, I can buy that. :)

Alrighty, I hope you can join me today as I color two more images from the Puppy Love release Live at 11am and 3pm PST!

They call it puppy love...

It's the first of the month and that means it is time for another Sweet November digital release at 7 Kids Crafts. For February we have six new sweeties who are celebrating this month of love a bit differently... they are showing their love for their four legged friends in the Puppy Love collection.

All Coco wanted for her birthday was a puppy and when that special day arrived little Pebble joined her family. Now Coco and Pebble are inseparable as they spend their afternoons taking walks through the neighborhood and saying hi to everyone they meet. Even though Pebble may be small, she has BIG love for her favorite girl.
Ben's mom has always raised and shown corgis and now that Ben has Jerry he can't wait to train Jerry to be the best corgi ever. Then the two of them can go to all the dog shows and take home the big prize. But even if Jerry's headstrong attitude doesn't go over well with the judges he will always be the top dog for Ben.
Robin has never known a day in her life that good ol' Baskin wasn't there to watch over her and keep her safe. She loves her shaggy old sheep dog with all her heart and there isn't anything that Baskin wouldn't do for his girl. The bond that Robin and Baskin share is one that can never be broken.

Duncan is an active boy, always on the go and his favorite buddy to run and play with is his dog Donut. Donut has just as much energy as her boy and she loves to romp and wrestle, run and play fetch for as long Duncan will keep throwing her ball. Then when they are both worn out, a good rest in the sunshine is the perfect way to recharge their batteries for the next round of fun.
Mickey calls her playful pack of chihuahuas The Nuggets and with this many little friends there is never a dull moment at their house. Each of these pampered pups has their own distinct personality whether they are sweet or sassy, mischievous or snuggley Mickey adores each and every one. And hey, when the dogs are this small there is always room for one more!
And finally we have Frank and his crazy Boston pup, Bean. Talk about a dog that can't handle his licker, LOL! All Bean wants to do is show Frank just how much he loves him and he has zero sense of personal space. Frank doesn't mind though and he hugs and squeezes Bean right back because you can't keep a love like that bottled up inside.
This month's FREEBIE to all  7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group members is Merboy Finn. He will be available to grab free for the next two days and then will move into the store for purchase. In honor of Valentine's Day Finn actually works perfectly with this month's exclusive February Mer Tot that all of the participants of the January SN challenge will be getting. We know that sometimes it can be intimidating to put ourselves out there and share our creativity so these monthly Mer Tots will be our way of thanking everyone who plays along and shares the Sweet November love.
And don't miss out on all the fun and games and Live coloring videos I will be doing in the  7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group over the next two days as well, we would love to have you join us!

Don't look back...

TGIF!

Only one day to go before the new Sweet November digi release and while I am busily making card samples for it I figured I would share this card from the January release Live.  This was another take on Snowflake Fairy Nixie and we had a good time coloring her into a snowy alpine scene. She is happily sailing through the sky over snow covered woods and frozen lakes on her way to the Snow Ball. LOL, I couldn't resist the bad joke there! ;)

Okay then, see ya back here tomorrow for a super cute release that I am SO excited to share with you all!

I heart u...

Hello, hello!

I was in the mood to color up some Dreamerland cuties yesterday so I pulled out my stamp binder and flipped through until this sweet image caught my eye. The stamp is actually called Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays is written in the ground at their feet. But with Christmas come and gone I wanted to use them in a different way so I wiped away the Happy Holidays and replaced it with this cute Valentine sentiment from the Mama Elephant Love From Above set. Now they are two little love birds strolling through a snowy wood on a cold Valentine's Day, writing love messages in the snow. If you've been following this blog for any length of time you know how happy it makes me to find different ways to use specifically themed stamps for different types of cards, so this one makes me very happy. ;)

Have a lovely day my friends!

Your kind of beautiful...

Good morning!

I was busy this weekend getting ready for upcoming releases so no time for a new card to share today. I wasn't worried though since I knew I still had this card from last week's Live coloring video that hadn't been posted yet. It's a second take on the lovely Snowflake Fairy Eira and I cropped in close on her this time around. For the background we did a sunlit snowy mountain side and played with a lot of different colors to create that "white" snow. I think it turned out quite magical and suits her and her chill relaxed vibe to a T. ;)

Later gators!

You are meant to shine...

TGIF!

The last couple days I have been busy with Live coloring videos of this newest Sweet November release at 7 Kids. The gals and I had a blast coming up with color combos and interesting backgrounds for each of the snowflake fairies to live in. Neva was the first of the fairies to get colored and with her calm and ethereal look we figured that adding some cool Northern Lights behind her would enhance that vibe. I love how the light almost halos her in a way. When it came time to find a sentiment to complete the card I totally lucked out and had the perfect Neon Ombre ink pad from Hero Arts to match the lights floating in the sky, sweet! It really is the little things like that that make me so happy with a card, LOL!

Well, it's back to work for this girl. Have a great day my friends!
Supply list:
cardstock- My Favorite Things and Copic X-Press It

It's a beautiful blizzard of a Sweet November release...

It's the first of the month and that means it is time for a new Sweet November digital release at 7 Kids Crafts. This year we are switching things up and alternating classic SN images from the Vault one month with all new images the next. And the best news is that the Vault images will stay permanently in the store from now on. For January we have brought back the Snowflake Fairies from 2010 and they have gotten a complete overhaul. I was never that happy with the lack of symmetry in my hand drawn snowflakes so now that I have my computer whiz sister helping me out she was able to help me finally realize my original vision for these lovelies.

So please say hello to the new and improved Neva. Neva is as soft and gentle as a midnight snowfall under the full moon. Peace and tranquility emanate from her like an aura of serenity. She never seems to be in a hurry to get anywhere... for Neva it is the journey, not the destination, that is important. And of all the Snowflake Fairies only Neva has the patience and skill to create the most beautiful icicles that decorate the winter landscape.

Eira loves to dance on a gentle arctic breeze, twirling and swirling as the cool light from the winter sun sparkles and shines on her crystalline gown. Her frosty touch turns the rivers and lakes to ice so all those in Sweet November Land can enjoy the fun of skating and frolicking right along side her and her other Snowflake Fairy friends.
Nixie is a free spirit who can most often be found racing around in the blustery, gusting winds that nip at your nose and make you pull your hat down tighter during a snowstorm. She's a bit of a trickster and loves to direct the snowdrifts to and fro until every path and lane in Sweet November Land is hidden from sight.

This month's FREEBIE to all  7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group members is Norman, the narwhal. He will be available to grab free for the next two days and then will move into the store for purchase. Norman works perfectly with this month's exclusive January Mer Tot that all of the participants of the December SN challenge will be getting. We know that sometimes it can be intimidating to put ourselves out there and share our creativity so these monthly Mer Tots will be our way of thanking everyone who plays along and shares the Sweet November love.
And don't miss out on all the fun and Live coloring videos I will be doing in the  7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group over the next two days as well, we would love to have you join us!

Decorated with happiness...

Good morning!

I've got one final catch up card to share today before moving on to brand spanking new designs. This cute little Christmas Gingey was part of a Vault release at 7 Kids and I colored him up during one of my Lives in the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group. We did things a bit different as I showed how I picked Copic colors to try and match the pretty striped paper that was also going on the card.

I also want to let everyone know that today and tomorrow only we are having a very special Sweet November digi sale in the 7 Kids store. All past Vault releases have returned for good and you can get them all for 40% OFF! It's our end of the year thank you to all our amazing supporters of Sweet November Stamps and 7 Kids. :)
