Happy Halloween!

Hey there!

Well, Halloween is finally here... the spookiest night of the year! I hope the day spoils you with plenty of sweets and treats. My card today is actually from the current Scene Progression Coloring Break Down series over on the Sweet November Stamps YouTube channel. Technically the final video won't go up until Thursday but I wanted to get this posted before Halloween was over. I paired up the pretty witch holding a kitty from the You Look Familiar set along with the bats flying in the air. The background was put together using a bunch of elements from the Autumn Cottages Background Builder set. As you can see, I did one more take on the pink-oween trend with this card using soft pastel versions of all the traditional Halloween colors. In the end I have a scene that is sweeter than a bag full of candy. :)

Have a spooktacular day my friends!

Spooky wishes...

Good morning!

Today's Halloween card uses the cute Little Monsters stamp set from Impronte d'Autore. I got these spooky sweeties after last Halloween and have been waiting for the perfect time to ink them up for this year's festivities. Because they are on the smaller size I opted for a mini slimline card and proceeded to stamp an aerial scene with the black cat riding on a magic broom with his too high flying friends. To help the ghost look transparent I stamped him using the lighter London Fog ink rather than Tuxedo Black. The big full moon is the largest of the three stencils included in the Tim Holtz moon stencil pack and I've been quite addicted to using them this entire spooky season. The green sky was airbrushed on and offers just the right amount of creep factor to an otherwise adorable scene.  :)

Alrighty, well I hope your week is off to a great start!

More Fall fun with Sweet November...

Hello again!

With the new Cozy Fall Birds digital stamp release at Sweet November Stamps yesterday, I went on Adventures in Coloring with Amy and colored Chadwick Chickadee during a Live. For this scene I enlarged the new Fall Birdhouse to fill most of the card front. I then shrunk Chadwick down a bit so he could stand on the little perch. We then went about using all the beautiful hues of Autumn on this sweet scene. Afterwards I added one of the sentiments from the Fall is in the Air set, stamping it right on the birdhouse in an ink color similar to the mustard combo used.

The October newsletter also went out last night and this month's free digi for subscribers is this sweet as can be Wee Pie Baker. Not only do you get the baker but she also comes with six different pies that you can choose for her to hold. I went with my personal favorite, pecan pie, for this Thanksgiving card. The sentiment is from the Horizon Lines: Birch Trees clear set and you might also notice a sneak peek of a stamp set in our upcoming Christmas clear release on this card as well.  ;)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Cozy Fall Birds...

Hello friends!

We've got an addition to the Cozy Fall Critters digital stamps that were released at Sweet November Stamps last weekend with three adorable Cozy Fall BirdsFranny Finch, Silas Sparrow and Chadwick Chickadee are each bundled up against the cold in their scarves and sweaters. There is also a new Fall Birdhouse background that includes a sweet little worm with his own cozy scarf.

For my first card I've paired Franny Finch with the Horizon Lines: Birch Trees clear set and a sentiment from the Fall is in the Air set. If you are interested in watching me color this cheery Fall scene, you can find the short Reel on Instagram and the longer speed coloring on the Sweet November Stamps YouTube channel.

My second card pairs Silas Sparrow with the Cozy Fall Birdhouse and another one of the sentiments from the Fall is in the Air set. It looks like Silas has been busy decorating with all of the Fall nuts and berries that he can find. :)

Finally, Chadwick Chickadee is joined outside the Tree Home by his little worm pal, Early. The sentiment is from the Horizon Lines: Birch Trees clear set and I thought it worked with these two perfectly.  :)

Now be sure to check out the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group on Facebook for even more cozy fall cards from Caitlin, Lisa, Allison and Amanda as well as our fabulous guest designer, Samantha Pfrimmer. Don't forget, I will be coloring Live today at 11am PST over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page and I hope to see ya there!

You can also find us on Instagram @sweetnovemberstamps and don't forget to use the #sweetnovemberstamps any time you share a card or project using SN images so we can see all of your beautiful makes!

Wishing you a spooktacular Halloween...

TGIF my friends!

Considering my recent addition of three little stray black kittens to the family, it seemed only appropriate that I color up this cutie from Purple Onion Designs. This is Midnight, the Halloween kitten and I paired her with the Street background stamp. I wanted it to look like we've caught her prowling the neighborhood late on Halloween night after all of the trick or treaters have gone home to bed. Now it's just Midnight and her little pumpkin friend left to bask in the moonlight. The sentiment is part of the Winslow and Rusty- Halloween Friends set and I used white heat embossing with it to play off the light from the moon. I sketched in the little flying bats by hand and added white polka dots to the hat as a few finishing touches to this adorable scene.  :)

Have a great weekend!

Such a fright...

Hello there!

I'm up on the Hello Bluebird blog with one last Halloween card for the season and this time I've inked up some more of the cute critters from the Candy Crew set. The little bear was really speaking to me as I love his look of concern and that upturned face. To give him something to look at I stamped the small spider just above, directly in the bear's eye line. I then added the bunny with the lantern so he could shed some light on what is spooking his friend. The spider needed something to be dangling from and the Full Moon Scene die with its spooky tree was the perfect solution to build the entire scene around. Using my Copic markers I colored the tree and foreground first, then the rest of the scene including these sweet trick or treaters. The bright full moon and night sky were done using the Copic airbrush system in order to get that super soft glow effect. Once the sky was complete I glued together all of the pieces of the die cut scene onto a white card base. All that was left to do was add a few finishing touches, including one of the sentiments from the Spooky Text set. The large "boo" was cut out using the Charlie Alpha dies and I think it is a fun addition to help play up the story I'm telling on this fun Halloween card. With a white pen, I then sketched in the line from the tree to the spider as well as a bunch of spider webs filling the space between many of the tree branches. I don't know about you, but I can certainly relate to being startled by the sudden appearance of an eight legged beastie... LOL!

Toodles!
