The most beautiful things...

Hello friends!

I'm currently busy working on cards for the new Sweet November release on Saturday so I thought today would be a good day to share this card that I colored Live this past Saturday over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. Because we were doing a review/preview I paired the older SN Gal Brianna with the soon to be released Background Builder: Day at the Park set. I ended up keeping the colors a bit on the muted side, to go for more of an early spring day before all of nature's colors start brightening. I also turned her heels into a pair of boots to change her outfit a bit. All in all, it was another great time coloring with my crafty friends.  :)

Have a good one!

I love this for you...

Olo!

Annie Rodrigue just added a pair of new digi stamps as well as two clear sets to her Moonlight Whispers online shop, which made for a fun coincidence because I already had this older image on my desk when they dropped. This beauty is a retired Moonlight Whispers stamp from the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps days called, Pampered Paulina. I've had her for ages but this is the first time I've inked her up. I figured Paulina would work well for a different kind of Galentine's Day card, especially when paired with this fun sentiment. I like to think that she is taking her time getting ready for a girl's night out with her besties.  :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Forever be my always...

Good morning!

The Sweet November Stamps January newsletter went out Saturday night, reviewing all of the good things that were added to the shop this month. It also has some sneak peeks of the brand new Love Notes clear stamp release that is coming to the shop on Saturday, February 3rd. As always, it will be a weekend full of Live coloring over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page and we will have two chances to win the entire release of seven stamp sets with the Instagram and YouTube hops... so mark your calendars. Also included in this month's newsletter is the adorable Heartly. She is the subscriber free digi and as you can see, she just has the biggest heart... giggle! Sending paper hugs...

Hello friends!

I'm up on the Hello Bluebird blog today and with Valentine's Day drawing near I thought it would be fun to pull a bunch of different stamp sets to create a cute Valentine's Day card. I began building my scene with this darling seated girl, tree and tree stump from the Autumn Days set. She needed a friend and that's when I spotted the kitten in the Sabrina set, who was the perfect fit. Now I just needed to give them a reason for sitting there. When I came across the mailbox in the Merry Mice set , the idea formed that perhaps this cutie was waiting to mail out a love note to someone special. And the Dear Santa set had the letter I needed to stamp into her hidden hand. When masking stamps together to create a scene with lots of depth and interest, you always want to start with the images that are closest and work your way back into the distance. So in this instance I began by stamping the kitten, then the girl, followed by the tree stump she is sitting on. I then added the letter to her hand and the mailbox before masking it as well and then stamping the tree from Autumn Days and the stand of trees from the Picked For You set further in the background.

With all of the masks removed and the scene elements in place, I could start bringing everything to life using my Copic markers. To make sure that the background didn't drop off at the tree line I colored the green grass and the winding path farther up on the tree trunks, which creates the illusion of the field extending way back into the distance. This gave the scene a background, midground and foreground that all work together to pull the viewer into the story being created. I used the little girl's outfit and letter as a way to bring in the Valentine theme, with lots of red and pink and heart shaped accents.  The sentiment from the Big Hugs Woodland set also ties the letter and mailbox to the overall love theme as well. Finally I used the Nesting Deckle A2 die set to give a decorative edge to the scene and mounted it on a red card base that coordinates back to the red in the girl's clothing and the sentiment for a cohesive finished look.

Thanks for stopping by!

A walk in the park...

Hi there!

It's review/preview weekend before the Love Notes clear release hits the shelves at Sweet November next week. This is when the team and I showcase previously released stamps on brand new cards and share sneak peeks of some of the new stamps that are soon to hit the shelves. Now, this is the first time that we've had a Valentine's themed release so there are no older Valentine clear sets to review.  Instead we are putting a Valentine spin on other clear sets that are in the store. The card I am sharing today pairs two of the cute Wee kids from the Sweet Easter set and some trees from the Horizon Lines: Spring in Bloom set with the soon to be released Background Builder: Day at the Park set. I like to think that these two are enjoying a sweet date for Valentine's Day. If you are interested in watching this scene being colored you can find the short Reel over on my Instagram or there is also the longer speed coloring video that can be found on the Sweet November Stamps Youtube channel.

I will be coloring up another mash up of an older set with more from the upcoming Love Notes release during my Live coloring this morning at 11am PST on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page... hope to see ya there!

Later gators! :)
