Grateful for you...

Mornin' folks!

So yesterday I shared my card using the lovely Uptown Zodiac Girl Virgo and now it is time to see how a few small tweaks when coloring can really add to the versatility of these stamps. This is actually the third month in a row that I have ended up with a very different version of the stamp without it requiring much altering. In fact Virgo is stamped as is, all of the changes I made where done totally with my Copic markers and some selective cropping. For this card I wanted to transform Virgo into a trench coat wearing Fall beauty so that I could enter her into this month's Bellarific "Hello Autumn" challenge. To do that I just used my brown markers to create the lapels, belt and pockets that help transform her dress into a coat. Another simple change was done by choosing a very dark brown hair color for her so that I could simply color over most of the flowers in the original image's hair. Then all I had to do was grab the wonky scallop square die and cut her off mid thigh to get rid of the rest of the gown. No big tricks or manipulations, just a few easy tweaks that make all the difference!  :)

Have a good one my friends!

Birthday star...

Hiya folks!

I'm continuing on with my personal challenge to create birthday cards for each of the Stamping Bella Zodiac Girls today. Miss Virgo is the latest star sign sweetie to get inked up and show off all her earthy loveliness. Virgo is the sign of the Virgin and she is reserved, modest, practical and industrious. She's analytical and seeks to know and understand. Her signature colors are navy blue and gray, the classic colors of refinement and taste. I kinda struggled with this one a bit, only because her grey dress was looking way too much like a wedding dress. That's when I grabbed my trusty B37 Copic and added the blue trim until I was much happier with her look. The flowers in her hair then inspired me to color in an entire field of flowers for her to be standing in. Once again, the sentiment is a mix of stamps with the top being from the Papertrey Ink Stargazer sets and the description is included with Virgo herself.

Tomorrow I will have the altered version of Virgo and I'm quite excited to share her so you won't want to miss that!  ;)

Both thanks and giving...

Good morning!

Just a quick little post before I fly out the door... I have had this adorable Acorn Sisters stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps since late last Fall but it was just a little too late in the season and I didn't get them on a card. There was no way that I was going to let another year go by without inking them up. So when I saw the new Thankful and Grateful challenge go up on the Honey Bee Facebook group I knew this was the perfect time to get them on a card. I stamped them on vintage cream cardstock with rich cocoa ink and I love the softness that lends to the over all scene. This one was really worth the wait because I adore how it turned out. :)

Ok, gotta run!

Hello friend...

Hello, hello!

I'm jumping back to the August Greeting Farm release with this catch-up card I'm posting today. This little phone obsessed girlie is part of the Feels 2 set and I knew she could carry an entire card design all on her own, especially when I had these Doodlebug Hello papers and die cuts in my crafty stash just waiting to be paired up with her. So I grabbed a bunch of the die cut pieces and clustered them together to create a home for her as well as help tell the story. Plus, it made the whole card making process come together super quick which is always a bonus. :)

Later gators!

cardstock- Papertrey Ink and Catherine Pooler

Got candy...

Hey there!

Here we are at day three of the September stamp release from The Greeting Farm! We have two fantastic clear holiday sets and two singles coming out this month all of which will have you just itchin' to get inky! Today's set actually coordinates with the Halloween set that was released last year... say hello to Trick or Treat 2. The Trick or Treat 2 set includes six new costumed kiddos, some candy and treat bags along with a few fun sentiments. And as a fun bonus, Marie has created a Haunted House digital stamp to help create fun Halloween scenes on your cards. All of these will be available for purchase on the 15th! For my card today I shrunk down the digital Haunted House and printed it out high in the upper corner then I inked up the pirate and little Batman and stamped them in the bottom corner of my card. This created the illusion of having them standing on a hill in the foreground with the spooky house far in the distance... are these two brave enough to go knock on that door? LOL!

Be sure to head over to the TGF blog to see the happy Halloween cards my fellow Farmers have created as well as a second card from me. Then check back here tomorrow for one final day of  sneak peek fun!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Hello, hello!

It's day one of the September stamp release from The Greeting Farm! We have two fantastic clear holiday sets and two singles coming out this month all of which will have you just itchin' to get inky! We are starting everything off with this super cute Christmas set called, Cozy With You, which will be available for purchase on the 15th. Cozy With You includes these two kiddos sippin' on their favorite hot beverage, four fun holiday mugs, five different decorative cookies and two sentiments. The variety in this set is just fantastic leaving you with so many options for fun holiday and winter themed cards. In fact I made three extra cards that you can check out today over on the TGF blog. But getting back to this card... I recently got the new Simple Stories Merry and Bright paper collection because I love the cut apart pictures that are included in their sets and this one with the family station wagon loaded up with a Christmas tree was perfect for these two. Doesn't it look like they just spent the afternoon at the Christmas tree farm picking out the perfect pine then celebrated their find with some hot cocoa? :)

Now be sure to head on over to the TGF blog to see the cozy cards from my fellow Farmers using the new Cozy With You set and I shall see you back here tomorrow with more sneak peek fun!

Go forward...

Good morning!

It's my turn to share some inspiration on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page and once again I went back to my Dreamerland collection of stamps to ink up. About a month ago Kelly got in a huge order of these darling kiddos and I was able to snag a bunch of them that had been on my wish list. Hopping Along With Me was one of those recent additions even if she isn't from the newest release. Something about the way these images inspire a story on every card totally appeals to my crafty process. Now for some reason I always envisioned this little gal playing alongside a creek or stream and considering how bundled up she is, using fall colors in the background was a natural choice. The perspective was a total experiment and while I don't feel that I 100% nailed it I am pretty happy with the end result. :)

Ok, the new "LEAVES" challenge just kicked off and as always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store up for grabs and there are so many fun seasonal items starting to come in that you won't want to miss!

Did someone say cake...

Hey there!

Did someone say cake? Did someone say totally CAS but totally cute birthday card? There are so many cute little foxes doing a number of different activities in the Foxy Fun set, probably because it is kinda geared towards planner people, but being the card maker that I am, I challenged myself to come up with cards using every single one of them. Some worked well together but others, like this little baker fox, totally deserved to be the star of his own show. And from the looks of this card that show is probably on Food Network, LOL! I actually paired Baker Fox with an classic, though sadly retired, TGF stamp set called Birthday Bundle. I simply stamped him on top of the cake and that was all I needed to build the rest of this card around... easy peasy!

Ok then, enjoy the rest of your weekend!

A job whale done...

Hello!

I'm popping on this weekend to continue to get caught up in posting my backlog of Greeting Farm cards here on the blog  Today I've got the majestic whale from the Happy to Sea You set breaching the waves to wish someone a job whale done. That cool rolling wave die made this CAS design super easy to achieve, I just had to color in a quick sky background behind it, fussy cut the whale and tuck him right in and voila! :)

Stay crafty my friends!

Fall Blessings...

TGIF my friends!

It's the 7th and that means we have a new challenge over on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page. The theme this go round is "Leaves". Around here the leaves have already started to change color. I've got two big birch trees in my front yard and just yesterday I noticed how many little yellow leaves were already blanketing the ground. So when I started flipping through my stamps and came across this sweet Pixie from Whimsy Stamps sitting on a branch full of leaves I new I had a winner. I was inspired by the great Sandy Allnock to try my hand at coloring in a vast Autumn forest below Pixie and make it look like he is perched in a tree way up high on a mountain side. All in all I feel like I was pretty successful though more practice certainly wouldn't hurt. :)

Ok, so now it's your turn to go find some leaf themed stamps, paper or embellishments and get creative with us! The "LEAVES" themed challenge runs for the next two weeks and as always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store to be won!

Wishing you a lovely day...

Hello, hello!

It's my day to post over at the Greeting Farm blog and since the 10 Year Anniversary Kit just showed up in my mailbox on Tuesday I had to cut into it and start getting inky right away. There is no way I can choose a favorite image from the kit, with so many long time favorite characters making an appearance, but I have been waiting the longest time for a new Big Time Anya so she was my first choice for this card. As much fun as I have stamping up and making scenes with all the fun mini stamps, there is something about having a nice big character filling up your card front that makes my crafty heart extremely happy. I love, love, love coloring up these stylish girls and really getting into all the details of their hair and clothes. I decided to stamp this beauty in a light ink for a bit of no-line coloring then proceeded to color her into an early Autumn flower garden. The resulting scene is bright and cheery which is exactly what I was going for. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Have a little fun today...

Hello crafty friends!

With Fall creepin' up on us I really wanted to get this adorable little baseball player into one final game of the season. The stamp is one of the new clear stamps from the Dreamerland Crafts July release and it is called Lets Hit a Home Run. As soon as I laid eyes on this little guy a scene of him standing at home plate popped into my head and I just had to try and recreate it on a card. The chain link fence was a little tricky and don't look too closely because those links sure aren't evenly spaced but I do think it succeeds in coming across as intended. For some reason this cutie brings to mind the Kenny Rogers song, The Greatest... especially the verse that says, "Little boy, in a baseball hat, stands in the field with his ball and bat, says I am the greatest player of them all, puts his bat on his shoulder and he tosses up his ball".  :)

Later gators!

You're in my thoughts...

Hey there!

I have been hit with a cold so sadly no crafting got done by me yesterday. Luckily I made this card a couple weeks ago for just such an occasion. This digital beauty is Lucky Wishes from A Day For Daisies and I have been a long time fan of these lovely images. The blue color scheme was completely inspired by this scrap of old floral paper from my scrap bag. I think the last time I used it was back in my scrapbooking days, LOL! Alrighty, I'm gonna wrap this up quick so I can go take some Dayquil and hope I make it through the day.

Toodles!

Get well wishes...

Good morning!

Whew! What a weekend, it was a lot of fun but it wiped me out, LOL! Luckily, I've got a stack of cards just waiting to be posted here for the times when I am just too tired or busy to create something new. Some of you may remember this card from a Greeting Farm release a few months back featuring the Fairy Happy set. I always thought this one had a kind of Fallish feel to it so it is perfect timing posting it now. This sweet fairy sleeping on the feather absolutely stole my heart and I knew I wanted to make it look like there were several fairies being rocked gently on the breeze. I also wanted to flip the direction of one so I grabbed my handy dandy mirror stamp and used it to turn the middle one around. And the no-line coloring technique lends a softness to the over all scene that suits these slumbering sweeties. :)

Alrighty, I'm off to work... laters!

It's Halloween, Witches! Round 2

Hello, hello!

Just a quick Sunday post to thank everyone who stopped by the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group yesterday and helped make it an amazingly fun release day! The team had a blast introducing everyone to Black Cat Bess, Full Moon Faye, Pumpkin Patch Prue and Spider Web Sylvia along with their coordinating background builders. And the celebration continues on today, the special bundle is still available in the store where if buy all four of the witches you get the background bundle set for free and I will doing another couple of live coloring videos with a chance to win Black Cat Bess
For my cards today I've employed an old trick but a great trick that really highlights the versatility of digital stamps. I've resized each of the witches to blow them up nice and big and then crop in tight for a super fun to color head shot of each. I love playing with this technique for those days when you just really want to color faces and hair. ;)

Well thanks again for the warm welcome back to Sweet November and I can't wait to see your It's Halloween, Witches! cards. :)
