If your thighs touch...

Hello again!

Yesterday I shared my card using the gorgeous Cancer zodiac girl in all her star sign awesomeness. As is becoming tradition around the ol' blog, today I have a very different version of the stamp that actually didn't require too much altering and what I did do is super simple. Initially I was thinking of wiping away the crab but I kept coming back to the problem of what I could replace it with since her hand looks like it needs to be holding something. It wasn't until I decided to embrace the crab that my A-Ha! moment hit... I would turn her into a summer time beach babe. First I wiped away the flowers from her hair before stamping then used a black multi-liner pen to draw in the missing hair. Next I cut the image off just above the knees, grabbed my multi-liner again and drew in a simple Y shape to transform her long, elegant gown into a stylish one piece swimsuit. Seriously, you don't have to have any amazing drawing skills to accomplish this transformation. Once I masked off my new Cancer girl, I used the retired Beach Background stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps to set the scene and I couldn't be happier with the pairing. The sentiment is from a new Whimsy set called Salty Hair and considering I drew in those thighs, it really made me chuckle. ;)

Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday star...

Good morning!

I can't believe we are half way through July already! I figured that if I was going to continue on with my personal challenge to create birthday cards for each of the Stamping Bella Zodiac Girls then I had better get Cancer done before the signs switch up in a few days. So here she is in all her watery glory. Cancer is the sign of the Crab and she is  sensitive, imaginative, emotional, sympathetic and kind. She possesses an active, shrewd and intuitive mind. Her signature colors are sea green and silver, the shimmering colors of the water and the moon. This go round I was inspired to create a bit of a scene as I imagined this gorgeous, goddess like figure emerging from shallow bay waters surrounded by sweeping willow tree branches. I didn't go super detailed with it since I wanted the sentiment to still be easily read over the image. Again, the sentiment is a mix of stamps with the top being from the Papertrey Ink Stargazer sets and the Cancer description comes with Miss Cancer herself.
Be sure to check back tomorrow when I share a fun card that I've made with the altered version of Cancer, it is quite the 180 from this soft and serene design and such an easy change up. ;)

Our next set, FOXY FUN is super fabulous and perfect for those planner pages. We will have more cards featuring the new stamps from our Design Team Leaders starting the 16th so be sure to stop back by The Greeting Farm Blog to see more inspiration.

For my card I grabbed the Foxy Fun set once again and created a downtown shopping scene using three of the little critters. I tried to keep it very cartoon like with my color choices and stylizing of the background since the whole thing kinda reminds me of video games like Animal Crossing, LOL! High tide or low tide...

TGIF my friends!

Well here we are at the third and final day of July previews for The Greeting Farm and we are wrapping things up with the Mega Mini Summer set. This stamp set includes six darling kiddos ready to beat the heat during these hot summer days as well as a beach sign, sailboat, butterfly, slice of watermelon and three sentiments. Once again I found myself quite inspired by all of the different card making possibilities within this set that I actually made four cards (the rest of which can be found over on the TGF blog today). The one I chose to share here first is a personal favorite. I always love what I do and am happy with the cards I create but every once in a while I finish putting one together and it just stands out in a special way. Something about this sweet gal had me taking her to the beach and I was able to use the sign and sailboat stamps from the set to help me do just that. I love how it looks like she arrived bright and early, just as the sun is coming up. Perhaps she wanted to watch the sailing regatta or maybe she just wanted to claim a prime spot in the sand. Either way there is a peaceful mood to this card that I really respond to. :)

Alrighty, you know what to do... head on over to the TGF blog for even more Mega Mini Summer fun from myself and my fellow Farmers. And don't forget that the entire release will be available for purchase on Sunday as well as a chance to win all four of the July stamp sets by participating in the blog hop!

One amazing adventure...

Hello, hello!

Are you ready for day two of the July Greeting Farm release previews? Today we have another fantastic clear set to share called, Foxy Fun. This set has 12 mini foxes getting into all sorts of smile inducing antics. And just like the mermaids yesterday I couldn't stop coming up with card ideas using these foxy friends (so of course I have more samples that can be seen over on the TGF blog). For the first card I'm sharing here I decided to pair up the three foxes that are on the go, whether it is by bike, razor or scooter. I wanted the card to look like you are catching the scene as they fly by so I placed them behind this cool circle birch tree die. I know that I would do a double take if I was out walking in the woods and came across this crazy scene, LOL!

There is plenty more Foxy Fun cuteness to be had over on the TGF blog. I promise you won't want to miss all of the foxy fab-ness from my fellow Farmers!

All of your wishes...

Hi there!

Some of you may have seen this card over on The Greeting Farm blog way back during the March release of the Fairy Happy and Fairy Garden sets. I had a lot of fun masking on this one to make it really look like the fairies are interacting with the oversized sentiment, placing some in front of and some behind it. Well it has certainly taken awhile to get this posted over here on my blog but the timing couldn't be more perfect. You see... a new TGF release starts tomorrow and let's just say that these teeny tinies could be a BIG hint as to what is coming! ;)

So be sure to check back tomorrow because you won't want to miss this awesome release!

Your kindness melts my heart...

Good morning!

I've got some inspiration to share on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page today and once again I am inking up another of my beloved Dreamerland stamps. This little guy with his faithful pup just waiting on him to share some of that ice cream cone is called, Enjoying the Sweeter Things in Life, and they totally brought to mind a perfect summer day. Once that idea popped into my head I grabbed a whole slew of the Dreamerland Mix and Match sets to quickly and easily create an idyllic space for these two pals to lounge away the day in. Now I know that currently a lot of the Dreamerland stamps are sold out at 7 Kids but I have it on very good authority that an order has been placed of both re-stocks and the brand new July release too... woot, woot! ;)

Alrighty then, the new "OCEAN" challenge just got under way so there is plenty of time to get inky and join the fun. As always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store up for grabs and there is so much cool stuff to be found there!

Wishing you a fin-tastic day...

Hello!

It's the 7th and time for a new challenge over on the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook page, thus the special Saturday post from me. For the next two weeks the theme will be "ocean". Nothing says summer quite like a day at the sea shore so I can't think of better inspiration for cards made during this time of year. And the beauty is you can go light and bright like a sunny day out on the water or dark and mysterious like a stormy sea. For my card I inked up another mermaid from the Under the Sea set by Honey Bee Stamps along with a bunch of the little scene builders that made it super easy to decorate the ocean floor. I kept things bright and happy with my Copic colors to match the joyful look on this sweet mermaid's face.

Ok, now it's your turn to create something for our "OCEAN" themed challenge. As always there is a $20 gift certificate to the 7 Kids store up for grabs and the new seasonal stamps and goodies will be starting to arrive soon so check it out!

Happy Birthday...

TGIF!

I have a fun little birthday card to share today for no other reason than I wanted to play with a new stamp set that I got recently. I stumbled across this cute Penny Black set called Cake and Wishes and I loved the cute little kiddos in it. I didn't know at the time that they are illustrated by Lee Holland who also has a digi shop full of cute critters and kids. And as I was just linking to the shop I noticed there is a 50% off sale going on so I think I will have to fill my cart, LOL! I added an extra stack of presents behind this sweet birthday girl using an old TGF set called Birthday Bundle. Then I grabbed some of my favorite old papers by KI Memories and pulled my Copic colors to match. The result is a cheerful birthday card sure to put a smile on anyone's face. :)

Alrighty friends, have a great weekend and I will actually see you back here tomorrow for a special Saturday post.

Did everyone have a good time yesterday? I totally got my chillaxin' on and feel refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the week. As for my card today, some of you may have seen it on The Greeting Farm blog back during the May previews and I'm just now getting it up here. This funny little octopus is part of the Hands Down set and I had to add the glasses that come with the set as well to give him a decidedly distinguished look. I also grabbed some of the little scene builder stamps from both the Make a Splash and Little Mermaids sets to build his under the sea grotto, though I did free hand the cave myself. :)

How far love can travel...

Hello, hello!

When the June stamp release dropped at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps I grabbed up both the new mermaid and this retro cutie called Sassy Sophie. And since we are just about to celebrate the 4th of July here in the States I figured she would be the perfect way to head into the holiday with her old school Americana vibe. This had me reaching for another stamp set that I have for the Route 66 road sign that I could then color the rest of my scene around. I'm not sure which of the mid west states she is currently visiting on her way to the coast but she is certainly taking it all in and enjoying the journey. Alrighty then, I'm entering this card into the July Monthly Make It Challenge so wish me luck!

Happy Birthday...

Good morning!

I colored up both this cool Reef digi and Mermaid Queen during Some Odd Girl's 12 Days of coloring challenge for MerMay. At the time I didn't have a plan on who would call this reef home but when I needed to make a special birthday card for a fin-tastic friend, Mermaid Queen was the perfect fit. And having done all the coloring a month ago made putting this card together super quick. I am going to go ahead and enter this into the July Community Challenge with the optional twist of summer vacation. I don't know about you but my ideal vacation would certainly include plenty of lounging whether at the bottom of the sea or pool side. ;)

Toodles!

Ahoy there, sailor...

Hi there!

I'm posting over at the Greeting Farm blog today and when I'm deciding which stamps to ink up for these posts I generally try to use them as an opportunity to get as yet un-inked stamps onto a card. So as I was browsing through the store to see if there where any stamps I have in my collection not yet inked, the American Heroes set caught my eye. But because my creative mind is still stuck firmly in mermaid mode I couldn't stop myself from taking this in a very non-military direction. So I also grabbed this coy cutie from the Little Mermaids set and created a cheeky little scene between her and the sailor from the American Heroes set. By using a rolling wave die cut on the card front I was able to create a kind of window to house the sailor and his ship while putting some distance between these two flirty sea goers. I borrowed the little stone stamp from the Make a Splash set to give the mermaid something to sit on and added a die cut palm tree to complete the scene. I also knew just what I wanted the sentiment to say but didn't have a stamp in my collection that worked, so I went back into my crafty stash from my scrapbooking days and found the perfect alphabet rub-ons to create it myself. I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised that they still worked, LOL!

Well, thanks so much for dropping by today!

Thinking of you...

Hello!

I'm kinda on the run this morning so this will be a super quick post. How cute is this mermaid from Impronte d'Autore?! She is part of a set that includes the little oysters as well and I am completely smitten with this cutie. The image is so great it didn't take much else to pull this card together, I just colored in some simple sea weed behind the sand castle and then used my new wonky scalloped frame die to cut it all out. It's a sweet and simple card that totally makes me smile! :)

Later gators!
