April showers...

Hey, hey!

We couldn't say goodbye to April without adding an April showers inspired digi collection at Sweet November Stamps called the Umbrella Kids. For a bit of a twist we have given each of the kids, Kisa, Regen and Stormi, their own clear umbrella to keep dry out in the storm. I have always wanted one of those cool, clear umbrellas myself and I thought coloring them would be a fun change up from the norm. :)

My first rainy day card features Kisa as she strolls along the garden path. She is dressed for the weather in her matching rain coat and rubber boots and her clear umbrella is decorated with cheery yellow hearts to help brighten even the rainiest of days.

Next we find Regen happily playing and splashing through any puddle he comes across. His clear umbrella is decorated with aqua polka dots while his slicker and boots are a very Kermit shade of green. Perhaps he likes to imagine himself a frog as he goes leaping about in all those puddles, LOL!

We also sent out the April newsletter last night and this month's Free Digi for all subscribers is actually an entire bundle! In honor of Mother's Day coming up in a few short weeks, we have added the adorable, Momma's Little Stinkers bundle to the shop. This family of skunks is super sweet and they are a playful way to share how much you love someone, flaws and all.  :)

Now be sure to check out the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group on Facebook for even more Umbrella Kid cuteness from Caitlin, Faye and Lisa as well as our talented guest designer, Catrin Goodwin. Don't forget, I will be coloring Live today at 11am PST over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page and I hope to see ya there!

You can also find us on Instagram @sweetnovemberstamps and don't forget to use the #sweetnovemberstamps any time you share a card or project using SN images so we can see all of your beautiful makes!

You're a mermaid...

Hello Bellas!

It's another Scenic Saturday over on the Bellarific blog and since tomorrow is May 1st, and the official start to MerMay, I was quite excited to dive in a bit early with a card using the gorgeous Curvy Girl Mermaid. I can never have enough mermaid stamps so when Stamping Bella added a few more to the lineup last year I was thrilled! They were released a bit later in the year so this is actually the first time I've inked up this beauty and she was totally worth the wait. I paired Curvy Girl Mermaid with some fish from the Under the Sea Creatures set and the Under the Sea backdrop. To "shrink" the backdrop so you can still see the seaweed on both sides of this A2 sized card front, first mask off the mermaid and used her tail as a guide for how far to apply the ink on first the left side of the background and stamp. Clean the stamp, then shift the card stock in the Misti over to the left until the seaweed on the right runs up the side of the card, ink just to the mermaids tail on the right and stamp again. Once you remove the mask her tail hides any gaps or overlaps, creating a seamless looking sea bed for you to color. The sentiment was borrowed from the Under the Sea Sentiments set and I thought it was a nice pairing considering all of the little fish I had surrounded her with. ;)

I hope you get in on the MerMay fun this month and stay crafty my friends!

Sweet Celebration Wishes...

TGIF!

I was missing my Dreamerland Crafts stamps yesterday as it has been a while since I got crafty with them. I was just about to reach for my binder of stamps when I remembered that I have a few already stamped and sitting in a stack of images on the corner of my desk so I checked that first. I found this cute It's Your Birthday Cake image, which was perfect since I will be needing a birthday card next week. I started coloring her up and it felt like she needed more going on with her so I grabbed the SY Sweet Shop stamp set from MFT and did some selective inking to add just the table full of baking ingredients behind her. Once that table was in place the rest of the simple scene just fell together. The sentiment comes from another MFT set called Sweet Celebration Wishes and I framed the whole thing using this cute die from Heffy Doodle.

Enjoy your weekend friends!  :)
