Joy filled holiday candy!

The October Sweet November previews are upon us but instead of visiting Sweet November Land let's take a trip up to the North Pole.
While Santa is in the workshop overseeing toy production for the upcoming holiday season, Mrs. Claus is busy baking up all sorts of sweet treats in the kitchen. And she's not alone, she's got help from Gingy, the sweet little gingerbread man brought to life by Christmas magic. Gingy is an artiste when it comes to decorating all of the treats and delicacies that Mrs. Claus whips up. Today he is using candy canes to make a heart pattern on his fancy gingerbread house. It's Gingy's way to represent the love that is the spirit of the season.

And to spread that love Gingy has some Christmas candy to share with one lucky crafter, take a look...
The Gingy Candy Cane Love candy kit includes; one Sweet November Gingy Candy Cane Love rubber stamp, ten 6x6 sheets of Heidi Swapp Believe paper, Prima flowers, Kaiser Craft pearls, ribbon, twine, buttons, glitter pillow heart stickers, Studio G stamp set, four envelopes, four card blanks and my card.

All you have to do for a chance to win the candy is leave a comment on this post. If you link to the candy on your own blog that is great and much appreciated but not a requirement... I want everyone to be able to play along. And when I say everyone, I mean everyone. I will ship the candy anywhere in the world so everyone is encouraged to play! :) The candy will stay open through Friday, October 4th and I will announce the winner on Saturday, October 5th.

Be sure to check out the Sweet November Gals' blogs next. Nancy and Tress have been busy in the kitchen whipping up some super sweet Christmas cards! :)
Instead of using random generator I will be printing out names and tossing them in a hat SO if you leave a comment for the SN gals on their blogs, you will get extra names in the hat... this will up your chances of winning the candy. Fun, fun, fun!

I hope you have enjoyed this first day of Sweet November October previews. We have even more Christmas kitchen fun in store tomorrow! !

Ghostly Greetings...

Hello, hello!

Thanks for the show suggestions on that last post, it looks like there are a few others that I should check out this coming week. After having near record high temps at the beginning of the month we have suddenly been hit with cold dreary weather so spending an evening or two bundled up in front of the tv sounds like a good plan to me. Plus I can get some coloring done at the same time. :)

This past week I had a Make It Monday post over on the CCD blog where I used the Boo's Pumpkin stamp to decorate a t-shirt. He was still sitting on my desk when I sat down to make a card for today so I figured why not jump right into Halloween? Last year I didn't get the chance to make many Halloween cards so I feel like I have a lot of catching up to do with my Halloween stamps. The Boo's Fun set is definitely one that needs a bit of love this year because even though I usually don't play favorites among my own designs, these three ghosts are pretty high on my list. ;)
I paired this Boo up with a mix of old and new Doodlebug papers because their bright colors and fun prints created a cute scene. I love how those owls look like they are watching Boo struggle along with his giant pumpkin, too bad none of them are offering a helping hand... or is it wing? LOL

Well, I'm off today so you know I'll be getting busy in my crafty room. Especially since Sweet November and CCD October previews start tomorrow. See you then!

Better with a friend...

TGIF everybody!

Last night I was in the mood to color while enjoying all of the new shows on tv. This premier week has been pretty good and while I have returning favorites, a few of the new shows have already hooked me in. Blacklist is probably my favorite new one so far, loved it and hope that it gets a decent run. How about you, any new shows to recommend or look forward to?

Because I had such a block of time to relax and color in I chose a Lili of the Valley stamp that has been on my desk begging for attention. It's called Story Time and I think it is adorable but coloring that whole scene was a bit intimidating so it always got pushed while I've been short on crafty time lately. I'm glad I finally got it colored though because I'm very pleased with how it turned out. And since I couldn't leave well enough alone I also added the puppy from the Me and my Dog stamp. My life is filled with either my dog or cat wanting to join me for a cuddle on the couch so I thought he was a cute addition to the card. :)

Okey dokey then, time for me to scoot. TTYL!

Hello cutie pie...

Good morning!

I'm taking a little break from the Autumn inspired cards today since I wanted to play along in this week's Garden Variety Challenge over at TGF. It's a color challenge called Blue Raspberry and we are to use berry, pink, and blue/aqua together... hard to make that combo look fallish. But seeing as how blue raspberry is my favorite popsicle flavor I had to jump in. ;)
I used the Royal Cutie Pies set and did some altering to open up this little gal's eyes. It was as easy as wiping away the ink on her closed eyes before stamping and then tracing on her friend's open eyes using a light box. I also wiped away the heart from the middle of her hair bow and filled in the missing lines. The papers are random scraps thrown together and the twine was inspired by this card that my pal Lisa made. Speaking of Lisa, she's got a great Halloween blog candy going on until Oct. 31st and there are loads of fab crafty supplies up for grabs so go check that out! :)

Ok, I'm off to do the ol' hair and make-up routine. Have a great day my friends!

Happy Birthday...

Hey there!

Wednesday brings with it another CCD review preview and today we are revisiting the circus themed offerings from the September release. I went with the digital version of Ellie so that I could blow her up nice and big for my card. The cute little panel in the Midway paper pad with the kids and soda vendor was my jumping off point and I wanted Ellie to dwarf them and be the star of the show. Plus the colors are so bright and happy that the whole scene looks like a celebration.
Arighty then, there is a lot more high flying fun from my fellow CCD teamies over on the CCD blog today and you won't want to miss that! :)

Later gators!

Hi...

Olo!

There's nothing like a new stamp to get the creative juices flowing. This You Brought Me Love Gorjuss Girl arrived in my mailbox late last week and even though she might be dressed a bit inappropriate for the season I couldn't help but make another fall card using her. I guess that's why I found some of the Indian Summer paper from Basic Grey... that way she can still be enjoying some unseasonably warm weather later in the season. ;)

I've also come to realize that I'm currently on quite a gold kick with my cards. I'm so loving the addition of some pretty gold shimmer, whether it is from washi tape, sprays, rub-ons, or whatever else I can get my hands on. And while it looks great with all the fall colors I predict that my obsession will continue on into my Christmas cards as well. I'm already wishing that Pebbles will make some gold rub-on Christmas sentiments because the ones they have made look great and are so easy to use. I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed I guess.

Alrighty, I've got a day off to enjoy so I'll catch ya on the flip side! :)

As wonderful as you...

Good morning!

This card has been a couple days in the making as I just couldn't commit a nice block of time to sit down and just get it done. Which isn't a terrible thing though because I was able to see what the new Farm Fresh challenge was and finish this card to fit it. Paper piecing is the name of the game this week which is always a favorite technique to play around with. I altered one of the Miss Anyas from the Garland set by wiping the garland out of her hands before stamping her onto the pattern paper. I chose this beauty because with those braids and full skirt I thought she looked like the gals celebrating during an Oktoberfest. I even took the paper piecing a bit further by using tiny blossoms punched out of a border punch creating a crown of flowers to complete her ensemble. Now I think Anya is ready for a fun fall festival. :)

Well, I'm off to work for the day. Take care and enjoy your weekend!

So huggable...

Oops!

Looks like I botched this post yesterday. Something went all wonky and I didn't catch the mistake until later in the day. So I'm trying again this morning to get this card up on the ol' blog. :)

Surprise, surprise it's another fall inspired card. This time I colored up the You're Fintastic digital stamp from PeeWee Designs because I thought her big comfy sweater suited this new season. In my opinion there isn't much that is better than pulling out my cold weather wardrobe and being comfy cozy all day. To give this PeeWee a perfect fall day to live in I dug through my paper scraps for some if this cute neighborhood paper from October Afternoon. Now she looks like she has stopped to take a little rest after playing in the leaves all day.

Alrighty, another day another dollar.

Thinking of you...

Hello again!

As I've been cleaning, purging and organizing the crafty room I've gotten reacquainted with some pretty papers hiding in my stash. This cute tree print from Adorn It was one of those and I made a point of keeping it out so that I could use it on a card sooner rather than later. Then I just did a quick flip through my binder of Gorjuss Girl stamps to find someone ready to take a stroll through these colorful woods. The Lost Heart was a great fit with that coat she has on. So even though this card isn't for yet another fall challenge I seem to be firmly entrenched in the Autumn theme and look... which is perfectly understandable as it is my most favorite time of year. ;)

Well, take care and have a wonderful day my friends!

Hello friend...

Hey there!

Last week I stopped by the Sugar Nellie blog for the first time in quite a while and was shocked to see that I had missed a Fairy Glen release back in June. How could I let that happen?! Well I had to remedy this oversight by placing a little order and I was so excited when the stamps arrived on Saturday.
Of course I had to color one up right away and this sweet scene called, The Story Teller, was calling to me. Probably because I've been seeing a lot of little mushrooms popping up in the field behind the house when I take my pup for his walks. It's a sure sign of fall when the mushroom rings make an appearance. And lucky for me the Flutter By challenge this week is Autumn colors so this card is a perfect fit. :)

Okey dokey, time for me to scoot... I've got a haircut appointment before work this morning so I've gotta get a move on!

Thanks...

Olo!

A couple years ago I did a sample color comparison of the four different Copic grey families using Creeper Madden. Over time I have been able to finish coloring three of them and get each on a card of their own. During my latest desk clean up I found the final Madden with her W grey/black hair and wanted to see what I could do with her. So I hopped over to the Splendid Stamping blog to see what challenges are going on and when I spotted the Autumn Colors Retro Fresh challenge I knew I was in business. To give Madden an outfit more suitable for cool fall weather I did a head swap with Creeper Sunday. That scarf was the clincher because I really wanted to add some sparkly gold polka dots to it, LOL!
I also played with a lot of dies on this card too. Most of the time I am too lazy to want to pull out the Cuttlebug but I really should use them more often because I love what they add to the scene. :)
Alrighty, I'm off today so I guess I should see what chores need doing before I find something fun to do.

Just because...

Hello!

I was checking out Oozak earlier this past week hoping to find some Copic refills back in stock. I didn't have much luck with the refills but while I was there I did spot this pretty Celebrate Mae SOG stamp. I think she may have previously been for a class but now Mae is being sold exclusively at Oozak and I was very excited to get my hands on her and get her inky. :)

As soon as I got the mail yesterday I was ready to color Mae and get her on a card for this month's Some Odd Girl sketch challenge. I missed last month's and didn't want to repeat that oversight so I hopped onto the computer to take a peek at the sketch. All I had to do was flip the sketch on its head and it was a nice fit for Celebration Mae and the way she is posed. The rest of the card pretty much came from a kit so it came together very quickly.

Well, I'm off to get ready for work. Thanks for stopping by and hope your weekend is great!

Howdy...

Howdy pardners!

Considering state and county fairs were wrapping up around here this past weekend I figured it would be a good time to finally turn an idea I've had into a card. Sister Stamps has so many super cute stamps and all of the zodiac animals that they have been releasing this year are no exception. I've kinda been collecting the critters that can work as farm animals, like the Year of the Boar, because he looks more like a chubby little piglet to me. Originally I was going to pair him with an Anya stamp or something but when I spotted this October Afternoon paper with the Campbell Soup girlies on it I couldn't think of a better way to use some of it up as well. Plus it totally saved me on coloring time, LOL! ;)

Alrighty, have a good Friday everyone! We are expecting near record highs again today so it seems summer isn't ready to let go quite yet.

Autumn greetings...

Olo!

It's review preview time over on the CC Designs blog and we are shining the spotlight on the Autumn themed stamp offerings from the September release again. I just had to color up Playful Henry from Roberto's Rascals because this stamp is too much fun. I ended up inking just the leaves a few different times and stamping them in different directions to give Henry even more fall leaves to romp around in. And once I had everything colored I grabbed my trusty Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to sponge on a quick cloudy blue sky. Everything else on this card comes from the Happy Harvest Doodlebug collection. I've loved their designs for years and I think their papers just keep getting cuter and cuter. :)

Don't forget to check out the fab cards my fellow CCD teamies have created over on the CC Designs blog. All that Autumn inspiration will have you pulling out the sweaters and craving pumpkin spiced everything, LOL!

Alrighty, thanks for stopping by and I'll chat at'cha later!

Hello there...

Good morning!

I managed to get my desk cleared off and pretty well organized but the rest of the room will have to wait. I need to come up with a better storage solution for all of the little 6x6 paper pads that I've collected as they seem to multiply like Tribbles. LOL! ;)

But once my desk was in order I was able to settle in and make a fun card for this week's Flutter By Wednesday challenge. It's an open challenge for this very special birthday week which you can read all about on the FBW blog. I chose to ink up Jasmine who is one of the Fairy Glen fairies from Sugar Nellie. So that's another stamp I get to cross off my list of rubber waiting to see ink. Happy dance, happy dance!
I was even feeling ambitious and cut a bunch of scraps into 1"x1" squares and pieced together the background to shake things up a bit. It doesn't look too bad if I do say so myself. :)

Alrighty then, time to get ready for another work week.

You are my sunshine...

Hello, hello!

I had a couple days off at the end of this past week and decided that I needed to treat myself to nothing but rest and relaxation. It was a reward for making it through another crazy, busy summer both at work and at home. I didn't even stamp or color, it was all time spent between reading and getting caught up on some movies and shows... it was wonderful. I've actually got today off too but the crafty room is a complete disaster zone again and I can't keep ignoring it, especially if I want to make some cards. So there goes my morning, LOL! Oh well, the cleaning is good because I usually find things I forgot I had and they inspire me to get creative. :)

This quickie of a card was put together amidst the chaos of my desk. The Tiddly Inks Pixies are always a favorite and I got this little cutie colored up in no time at all. The papers clearly did the rest of the work for me. Which was a good thing because I'm sure I only have about a 4"x4" area cleared off on my desk at the moment. I love how the colors in this BoBunny paper look like that end of summer beginning of fall time of year. We've experienced that shift into cooler mornings and nights already and like this pixie I'm welcoming in the new season.

Ok, I'm going to get to cleaning.
Later gators!

Big time birthday wishes and circus candy!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls... welcome to the Sweet November Circus! If you would direct your attention to the center ring you'll find the ringmaster for today's events, Big Top Bailey. As always she is joined by her chimp chum, Barney, who is quite the little show stealing acrobat with his hoops and high wire act. Together this pair of exuberant revelers will show you all sorts of daring feats and memorable characters who are sure to astound and amaze! The first act that Bailey introduces to the tent is everyone's favorite... the baby elephant walk! Leading off these darling pachyderms on the march is Ellie and she is proudly trumpeting their procession through the rings. When she makes her way over to you in the stands be sure to have a peanut ready because they are her favorite treat. :)

Now, one lucky circus goer will be leaving here with some fantastic circus candy... take a look...

The Big Top candy kit includes; one Sweet November Big Top Bailey and Ellie rubber stamp set, ten 8x8 sheets of October Afternoon Midway paper, Prima flowers, Kaiser Craft pearls, ribbon, twine, buttons, star stick pins, four envelopes, four card blanks and my card.

:) The candy will stay open through Friday, September 6th and I will announce the winner on Saturday, September 7th.

Be sure to check out the Sweet November Gals' blogs next. Nancy and Tress have both created quite a show beneath the big top that will have you craving the peanuts and popcorn! :)
Instead of using random generator I will be printing out names and tossing them in a hat SO if you leave a comment for the SN gals on their blogs, you will get extra names in the hat... this will up your chances of winning the candy. Fun, fun, fun!

I know it is weird having a one and done SN preview around here but there it is. Of course there are more Sweet November circus cards to be seen on the CC Designs blog today with another chance to win these new stamps so head on over and check it out!

Ahoy matey...

Good morning!

The September release previews continue over at CC Designs today. This month the new stamps fall into three different categories; autumn, pirates and circus. For the pirate theme showcase I chose the sassy Li'l Lolita Captain Dawn and Land Ho' Background. It's been a while since I've colored up a Li'l Lolita so this was a real treat getting Dawn on to a card. I usually rely on pattern paper to create scenes for the characters on my cards but I was in a coloring sort of mood so the Land Ho' Background totally came into play. I think I was channeling Pirates of the Caribbean which actually makes me want to have a Pirates marathon sometime soon, LOL!

Ok, don't forget to check out the CC Designs blog to see all of the new September release pirate themed stamps in action and get your name entered into the drawing to win them before you can buy them!

Happy fall...

Hi guys!

Today we are kicking off the September release previews over at CC Designs. This month the new stamps fall into three different categories; autumn, pirates and circus. For the autumn theme showcase I chose the totally adorable Twila's Leafy Friends by Roberto's Rascals. These cute kiddos are quickly becoming some of my fave stamps to color. I love this scene and how Twila is painting faces onto the fall leaves which inspired me to add a face to one of the little fake leaves that I embellished the card with. The papers are from the new Happy Harvest 6x6 pad by Doodlebug, I just think the child-like prints and vibrant colors are a great fit with these Roberto's Rascals stamps.

Don't forget to check out the CC Designs blog to see all of the new September release Autumn themed stamps in action and get your name entered into the drawing to win them before you can buy them!

Hello...

Good morning!

Just a quick card to share today using the Hey Mae stamp from Some Odd Girl. She's such a pretty stamp and that hair... SO much fun to color! I've decided that the E35 Copic marker is magic. Seriously, it works for blonde, brunette, and redhead combos in so many great ways. Yup, I might as well declare this versatile brown my most fave copic evah! LOL, getting back to the card... I thought it would be fun to pair Hey Mae with some Hey You papers by Basic Grey. The coincidence of the names just gave me a chuckle. Plus I really liked how the modern color combo looked with her so win/win. :)

Well I'm going to get myself ready for the day. It's a shorter work day so I'll have some time to play this afternoon.
