Have a beautiful birthday...

Hey there!

I'm very excited to have been invited to guest for Your Next Stamp this month and I am up on their blog today with this sweet birthday card. They offer so many cute styles in their range of stamps that it made it hard to choose which ones to play with. The first set to completely win me over was this delightful Swan-derful set. It is full of mamas and papas and cute little baby swans in a variety of poses, perfect for building all kinds of beautiful nature scenes. I masked a bunch of them together to create an idyllic early morning swim, where they encounter a pair of curious fish during their search for a buggy breakfast. The sentiment is one of six that comes in the set and I really like how it plays off the idea of these freshly hatched babies enjoying their own birthday.

Alrighty, well thanks so much for stopping by and I will be back tomorrow with my second make for Your Next Stamp. :)

You always shine...

 Hello, hello!

Today I'm on the Greeting Farm blog with a different kind of card than I usually do. I've been anxious to color up the super adorable new Layla Fairy Bean that was recently added to the store and I really wanted her to have a magical home to live in complete with large mushrooms and flowers to keep her looking nice and small. Unfortunately I don't have anything like that in my TGF stash of images but maybe if we are lucky Marie will create one of her amazing digi sets for fairy background builders someday, LOL!

Anywho... I did find a great die in my stash that could build just the scene I was after. So instead of coloring a scene from scratch I found myself coloring die cut pieces and fitting them together like a puzzle. Once they were all glued together all I had to do was fussy cut Layla and pop her right into place on top of that large mushroom. She certainly seems quite happy in her magical little glen and I had a lot of fun shaking things up with my paper crafting.  :)

Stay crafty my friends!

A bit of magic...

Hello friends!

Today we are adding the final digital image of the Ladies of All Hallow's Eve collection to the Sweet November Stamps store. These slightly macabre yet mysteriously elegant ladies bring their own kind of magic to any of the cards made with them.

Lady Elusia isn't your typical tattooed lady found showcasing her ink covered skin to fascinated folks under the carnival big top. Every image on her body does so much more than just tell her story, for you see... the ink used to etch each one into her skin is imbued with a special kind of magic that allows Elusia to bring her tattoos to life! While some are benign and harmless, beware her guardian dragon, when he emerges to prowl for unwary victims there is nothing that can stop him!

I will be coloring Lady Elusia later today at 11am PST on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page.

The Sweet November monthly newsletter also went out today which included a code to grab the new Autumn digi for FREE from the store. This lovely lady is all bundled up for a Fall stroll while sipping on her first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season. I paired her with some previously released background builder trees, one of which I cropped the trunk off of to turn it into a pair of shrubs. Missed out on nabbing the freebie because you aren't a subscriber yet? No worries, sign up now and you will be able to take advantage of next months code. :)

Now be sure to go check out the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group on Facebook for even more Lady Elusia inspiration from our fabulous Melissa and our amazingly talented guest designer Annabel Haines!
You can also find us on Instagram @sweetnovemberstamps and don't forget to use the #sweetnovemberstamps any time you share a card or project using SN images so we can see all of your beautiful makes!

Get your witchy on...

Hello, hello!

I'm on the Bellarific Blog today and for this Scenic Saturday I was inspired to take Curvy Girl Loves Essential Oils and give her a Halloween twist. She is so pretty and that wisping, wafting scent swirling around has brought magic to my mind ever since I first laid eyes on her. That combined with the shifting seasons had me eager to transform Curvy into a modern day witch. Which really is as simple as finding the right accessory stamps to help tell that story. First I found this curious little kitten in the Edgar and Molly Vintage Kittens set and since every good witch needs her familiar I knew I had a winner. Next I went straight to the classic Set of Pumpkins, an absolute go-to for me year after year. I love how quickly they take any scene right into Fall. Because Curvy is a classy, modern witch I thought it would be fun to color these pumpkins white... so chic, LOL! Finally, the Fall Window became the perfect backdrop for this magical night scene, releasing that magic out into the world on All Hallow's Eve.

Now I challenge you to take a look at the accessory stamps in your stash and find clever ways for them to change a main image's story. It's all about getting the most out of our stamps and having fun in the process!

Stay crafty my friends!

Nut'n better...

 TGIF!

I find myself currently working on lots of new stuff for next month which doesn't leave me a lot of time for the day to day posting. That's when it's nice to know I have a small stash of images that I've colored for past challenges that are just waiting for a background before making it onto a finished card. This sweet little Acorn Fairy from Some Odd Girl was one of those handy images patiently waiting for his time to shine. I honestly think he has been waiting for nearly two years now! He and the chipmunk are from a retired clear set and I used a mirror stamp to flip the chipmunk the other direction. All these two needed was a place to live so I quickly colored in some patched of blue sky and a riot of fall color in the treetops surrounding them. After that a fun sentiment was all I needed to bring this one all together. It's always a happy day to see one of these cuties finally get on a card. :)

Alrighty, have a great weekend my friends!

Love my boo...

 Hi there!

I've got a busy day ahead of me so not much time for chatting I'm afraid. I recently added the cute My Pet Kitties set from Mama Elephant to my stamp collection and finally had some time to create with it yesterday. Because I've been having so much fun with Halloween cards at the moment I thought it would be a cool twist to turn one of the kitties into a Halloween black cat. So I went to my binder of Halloween stamps and found the Little Boo Agenda set to help give this card that spooky, cute vibe. Initially I was going to go full out scene with a bunch of different stamps but I just fell in love with how these two interact together so I shifted gears and made them the star of the show. I even ditched the scene idea and grabbed a stencil and some ink instead to create a magical glow behind them full of stars. A sprinkling of sequins and this CAS card was done!  :)

Alrighty, gotta run... have a good one!

Hello, fall...

Olo!

I actually started coloring this lovely Helena Girl with Short Hair digi from MMedel Illustrations over a month ago. I only got the skin and eyes done before having to set her aside for another project and then she kind of got lost in the shuffle until yesterday. I was tidying my desk when I came across Helena again and I really wanted to finish coloring her, the only problem being that with the shift in my seasonal mindset I wasn't really feeling the original summer background that I had planned for her. That's when I got the idea to use the cut off point at her bust line as the neckline of a slouchy sweater she is wearing over her cami. Right away Helena was looking ready for fall, especially with the rust orange color. Now all I had to do was add a simple wash of fall colored forest behind her and she was suddenly enjoying a crisp, autumn morning walk like I can't wait to do myself.
I actually have a few more of these 'big head' beauties by Maria that I can't wait to color up and I hope it doesn't take me as long to finish them as poor, sweet Helena had to wait. If you haven't checked out the etsy shop lately, a lot of great new images have been added as well so be sure to check them out!

Laters!

I can't even...

 Hello!

Are you ready to jump back into Halloween with Sweet November Stamps? Today we are introducing the second new addition to the Ladies of All Hallow's Eve club. These enigmatic images lend themselves to a more elegant and mysterious type of Halloween card, which can make for a fun change of pace.

Thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt, Queen Amunet reigned until she was cursed by a rival to meet an untimely death. But this was not the end of Amunet, for she had magic of her own. Mummified she would sleep, her powers growing, until one day fortune would release her from her dark tomb to take revenge on the ancestors of those who had wronged her. Only then can she resume her reign in a new time and a new Egypt. Will that day be All Hallow's Eve? Let us hope not!

When you purchase you get two versions of Queen Amunet, one with her entire face visible and the other partially wrapped in mummy cloth. You can see the partially wrapped version on my card below and I will be coloring the full face version later today at 11am PST on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page

Now be sure to go check out the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group on Facebook for even more Queen Amunet inspiration from Melissa and our fabulous guest designer Jeanette Comerford!

Birthday Fishes...

Good morning!

Today is the last day to take advantage of the store wide Anniversary Sale at Purple Onion Designs and that means there are only hours left to save 25% OFF nearly the entire store. Even the newest Under the Sea and A Pirate's Life collections by Shari Bresciani are included in the sale if you can believe that! Personally, I crossed a few cute Halloween images off my list and I can't wait for them to arrive so I can get them inky before the holiday.

For my card today I figured what better way to wrap up a birthday celebration than with a bustling birthday party card... under the sea style of course. It looks like Mermaid is celebrating her big day with all her fishy friends. They are partying it up in a pretty colorful coral reef that is the Ocean Floor Background that I stretched to fit across the added length of this slimline design. I did this by first stamping the individual coral and rocks in the center of the card then masking them. Next I grabbed the Ocean Floor and only inked and stamped the left side of the stamp then slid it over and and did the same with the right side, making sure the lines reached my masked items. That way once the masks were removed those rocks and coral in the center hid the gap in the background. Now everyone has room to party down and have a great time. :)

Ok, thanks for stopping by and I hope your week is a crafty one!

Another Halloween Vault release...

Hi there!

We've just added a couple more Vault images to the Sweet November store. Slowly but surely we are getting the older holiday images updated and in there. Today we are going all the way back to the very beginning of Sweet November stamps with one of the original four fairies that started it all in 2009. Then we jump ahead to the 2012 Halloween release, when this little imp made his first appearance.  Full Moon to help flesh out the rest of this Halloween scene.

This grumpy little goblin is Gobsmack and he is not a fan of trick or treaters knocking on his door every Halloween. The din and noise and all those shouts for candy just make him grab up his pitchfork and chase off the offending beggars shouting that all they will get from him is tricks!

This dark and mysterious fairy is Gossamer Cornwand. During the Fall season she can be found living in a spider webbed wonderland deep within the hidden forest grotto. She wears tiny black spiders on her dress that shimmers with the light of early morning dew drops.

I hope these two will tide you over until the newest Lady of All Hallow's Eve arrives on Tuesday. ;)

Later gators!

Just thought I'd say hi...

Hello friends!

I've been wanting to get another warm weather Dreamerland stamp on a card before summer comes to an end and this sweet barefoot lass was the perfect choice. She and her hedgehog pal are from the Thank You For clear stamp and I paired them with some dandelion puffs from one Mix and Match set and a sentiment from another. I colored in a cheery woodland space for them to call home full of fresh summer greens and just a hint of yellow for the fall season that is on its way. I think I've mentioned before that I have a soft spot for hedgies since I used to have a couple as pets years and years ago, so I'm a total sucker when I find a cute one in stamp form. :)

Ok, I gotta get ready for work... enjoy the weekend everybody!

Hey, pumpkin...

TGIF!

I went on and colored this fun Halloween scene Live yesterday to show how I make transparent looking ghosts on my cards. These cuties from the Frightful Little Bits set that just released at Hello Bluebird came out to play again and this time I paired them with the large Pathway Background stamp. Even though it released in the spring, look how awesome it is colored in rich fall colors. I had a lot of fun adding all the little jack o'lanterns and ghosts into the scene. Sure it took a bit of masking to accomplish but the cuteness of the scene makes it all worth it. I can just feel that this is only the first Halloween card I make using this background but it certainly won't be the last, LOL!

Take care and have a good one my friends!

Happy Birthday...

 Hey there!

Today The Greeting Farm is featuring our second video in the Scrapbook Expo Learn at Home series. For this second tutorial in the series we are showcasing a few  more advanced techniques when working with digital stamps in Microsoft Word. If you missed the first video on Tuesday it can be found on the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo @home page as well as their Youtube channel and it will get you all caught up before the video this afternoon. You will have to join their Facebook group to watch the videos so make sure you do that and I will be there to help Marie answer any questions that are asked. :)

This card is basically the grand finale, taking all the tips and tricks that I share and putting them together in a single scene full of depth and dimension. As you can see, I did a lot of mixing and matching of various digital sets to create a bustling birthday party scene. The speed coloring video of it is included in today's presentation. So I hope you are able to tune in and get down with digital stamps once again!  :)

Later gators!

Hip, hip, hooray...

Hey there!

I've had this whimsical scene stamped up for a few weeks now and I finally had time to color it up yesterday. It's a mash up of two Stacey Yacula sets from My Favorite Things, Hooray Kind of Day and Always Bring a Smile, with a little help from some strategic stamping and the mirror image stamp. Don't they look like a such a happy pirade of wee little gardeners? The long slimline die from PinkFresh Studio gave me just enough room to get everyone on there, even that little snail is slowly coming down that mushroom to join them, LOL! Boy does it feel good to finally ink up stamps that have been waiting ever so patiently to make it on a card. It sure makes me a happy stamper. :)

 Stay crafty my friends!

Whatcha doin'...

Hi friends!

Today The Greeting Farm is taking part in the Scrapbook Expo Learn at Home series. For this two part series Marie asked if I would share how I go about working with digital stamps in Microsoft Word. As a big fan of digital stamps and all that they bring to the crafty table I was very happy to be a part of this and hopefully take the unease of a new medium away for any of you who are new to creating with digis. The first video goes live today at 4:00pm PST on the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo @home page. You will have to join their Facebook group to watch the videos so make sure you do that and I think there may even be a bit of Q&A time with Marie as well. I won't be able to be there today as I have an appointment in town that will keep me away but the second video airs this Thursday and I will totally be there for that one. :)

This card is one that I made for the video as an example of mixing and matching various digis into a simple scene and there is even a speed coloring video of it included in today's presentation. So I hope you are able to tune in and get down with digital stamps!  :)

 Toodles!
