New Anita Jeram release at Colorado Craft Company!

Good morning!

Welcome to the new Anita Jeram release blog hop with Colorado Craft Company. There are six adorable new sets being added to the store, along with their coordinating dies, so there is plenty to get excited for! To celebrate this release 3C is generously providing a chance to win one new stamp set (winner's choice) at each stop along the hop. Simply leave a comment on this blog post and you are entered into the blind drawing! The giveaway ends on July 3rd at midnight mountain time and winners will be announced July 5th on the 3C blog.

Here's a quick list of all of the talented designers sharing inspiration in today's hop:

Both of the cards I am sharing today feature the wonderful Stargazers stamp set with the bears being the stars of the show on this first one. I paired the two bears looking up at the sky with the Well Loved mini stamp set, turning this cute duo into an even cuter trio. Together they are watching the night sky with wonder as the stars twinkle above. To create this look I first stamped and colored the bears and ground then masked them off so I could use my Copic airbrush system to color in the night sky. I then left the mask in place while I used a paint brush and some Dr PH Martin's bleed proof white to flick the stars into the sky. By gently tapping the brush above the paper you get a great, natural spray of speckled white dots. I then used the pointed end of my paintbrush to add the shooting star, dragging the ink out across the paper to create its tail.

Next, these two sweet bunnies are also part of the Stargazers set. I love how they are laying out feet to feet, taking in the vastness of the dark sky above. They have quite the unobstructed view from atop their hill as I did my best to color in the treetops of the forest extending out beneath them. I used the same technique as above to create the starry sky and both sentiments were heat set using white embossing powder so they would show up on the dark background.

Alrighty, I won't keep you any longer as I'm sure you are anxious to check out the rest of the hop. Have fun and stay crafty my friends!

Good times...

Hello, hello!

I'm up on the TGF blog today and I'm still having way too much fun playing with the Beach digi set that released at the beginning of the month. This time I paired some of the beach elements with the Summer Dress Up digi set as the main focus. Specifically, it was the little ice cream cart that I built the scene around, though it transformed into a shaved ice cart thanks to the cute little cups in the Beach set. The Anya who has already gotten her strawberry/peach icee and is heading down to the beach is also from the Summer Dress Up set while the cutie still at the stand is from the Backs 3 set. I began coloring the girls first, adding various prints to their clothing for extra cuteness. Then I started dividing up the background. The shaved ice cart would need a hard surface to roll on so I colored in a sidewalk beneath it. From the sidewalk down to the bottom of the card I filled that space in with sand. Above the sidewalk I added a narrow strip of green before the row of small buildings off in the distance. From the buildings up it was all blue skies and sunshine. I really like how this sets these two friends into a more urban scene that is still very laid back summer cool. The little sentiment from the Pool Party clear set is just the finishing touch I needed to call this card complete.  :)

Happy Summer...

Hello friends!

So I got these darling CC Designs Mermaid Party stamps last summer and it took me this long to finally get a couple of them inked up and on a card. I went with a mini slimline card using this dainty scalloped design from Trinity Stamps because I knew I wanted to stack these two mermaids with one floating above the other. I did make a slight alteration to that upper mermaid by wiping the ink away from the little turtle she is originally bending over to see. Now she is looking down at the mermaid below instead and I love the interaction between these two. Even further down the card I added a few rocks and kelp from the Underwater Scene set and in the distant water behind the mermaids I also added a school of fish from the Sweet November Mermaid Hair set. What can I say... I loves me some mermaids and these two 'best fins' make me all kinds of happy. :)

Ok, time for me to scoot my boot... have a good one!
