Hello friend...

Howdy folks!

Today is the perfect day to get this extra card that I made for the April release at TGF posted. I've been busy, busy, busy getting ready for the Sweet November release tomorrow so no time for a new card. This one features two more girlies from the new Feels 3 set and I paired them up with some pretty papers from the Echo Park Hello Spring collection. When I use patterned papers on my cards I like to pull my Copic colors to match as best I can, thus the very light and bright grass and trees in this case. Some simple die cut words and I had a sweet and cheery card that I was quite pleased with. :)

Alrighty, well I hope to see you back here tomorrow for all the fun release festivities... it's going to me mer-mazing!

You're fintastic...

Hi friends!

I am over on The Greeting Farm blog today and it looks like I am diving into MerMay a couple days early, LOL! But can you blame me when there are such cute mermaids to be found at The Greeting Farm? This beauty is Merisa and I paired her with a bunch of the accessory stamps from the Little Mermaids set as well as the sentiment that comes with Maisea. With just a bit of masking I was able put everything together to create this under-the-sea scene of Merisa resting on a moss covered rock as all the fish swim by to admire her. So as May approaches, use that as motivation to ink up the TGF mermaids in your stash and challenge yourself to create some mer-magic! :)

Moonlight Whispers Mer-mazing release!

Hello, hello!

I'm here posting on this fine Sunday because this month's Moonlight Whispers digital release is now available in Annie's Etsy shop. In honor of MerMay, which is only a few short days away, we have two brand new mermaids to showcase today... Playful Bubbles and The Hairdresser! I have always been a huge fan of Annie's mermaids and I still have all of her past rubber and clear stamp mermaid sets, which a borrowed from heavily from to flesh out the scenes on both of these cards. All the little sea creatures, shells and coral accessory stamps were perfect for bringing my visions to life.

First up is Playful Bubbles which is such a happy little scene, just look at that smile on the clown fish's face as he is being tickled by all those bubbles. I think the octopus and seahorse are waiting in line to play in the bubbles next, LOL!

Next we have The Hairdresser and as soon as I saw this image it just cracked me up. Of course an octopus would make for the perfect under the sea stylist! This had me pulling the octopus from the retired Calliope rubber stamp back out to make a second appearance, this time as the stylist's assistant. You just know that all of the mermaids this side of the seven seas come to these two octopodes to help them look absolutely FAB-U-LOUS!  ;)

Alrighty then, what are you waiting for? It's time to swim on over to the new stamps at Moonlight Whispers and get ready for MerMay!

Thank you fairy much...

TGIF my friends!

Guess who got her order from the new Spring release from Hello Bluebird... yup as soon as I saw these fairies from the Fairy Garden set I knew that they were coming home to live with me, LOL! I actually got the Garden Friends set as well and it came in handy when I sat down to stamp up this sweet scene as I ended up borrowing the large mushroom and butterfly from it. I just love all the little extras that come in these sets, there are so many different ways to mix and match them for different scenes... my head is still swimming with  ideas. In fact I'm not even bothering to put these stamps away right away, I'm gonna keep them on my desk until I can play around with them again and see what comes about. :)

Ok then, I'm off to work soon. See you back here on Sunday for a mer-mazing Moonlight Whispers release!

High tide or low tide...

Olo!

Just a couple days left to grab up the Sweet November Vault release. Nami, Nalu and Hanalei have had a wonderful time splashing about this week but come Saturday morning they have to swim back into the Vault before it closes once again. These are the two cards I colored during the release day Live coloring videos in the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group. For this first one I combined Nami and Nalu, cropping Nalu in Word so that only her head and shoulders showed, allowing me to color the scene like she is popping out of the water. Speaking of the scene, my gals who were there coloring with me had the fabulous suggestion to put a waterfall behind them and I gotta say that I am SOOO happy with how it turned out
We also colored Hanalei into a deep ocean trench with light streaming down on her and the moss covered rocks around her. It wasn't until I found this great sentiment yesterday that I actually colored in the jelly fish in the background. I even added some Glossy Accents to them so they would look extra slick and slimy, LOL! There are just so many fun things you can do with these little cuties. But if you like your mermaids a little older and a bit more glamorous then be sure to come back on May 1st when Sweet November will be kicking off MerMay with a big ol' splash!

Always be a unicorn...

Hello, hello!

I was so busy yesterday, getting ready for next month's Sweet November digi release, that I didn't leave myself any time to create something new for my post today. So I got on my computer and started looking through my pics to see what I hadn't shared yet and found the ATCs I made for the 7 Kids Unicorn swap. As you can see I used a variety of the darling unicorns from The Greeting Farm and went to town practicing different scenes with each of them. You may also notice that my crafty OCD had me coloring them in hues of the rainbow, LOL! I always enjoy participating in the ATC swaps, these days it's just about finding enough time in my schedule to commit to them. Hopefully I won't have to wait 'til summer is over before I can play along again. :)

Later gators!

Happy Bee-Day...

Hey there!

So I've got this stack of colored SOG images from the 12 Days of Coloring challenges that I've previously participated in and I'm trying make a dent in getting them turned into finished cards. The nice thing about that is because half of the coloring is already done, the whole process is sped up a bit making them perfect projects for my busier days. This adorable Fairy in Flight has been waiting to fulfill her crafty destiny for nearly a year now so I grabbed her up and got busy coloring in a background. I wanted to create the illusion of her flying high above the landscape so you see a lot of different elements receding into the distance, like the mountains and river. I also decided she needed a friend to be looking up at and for some reason a little bee came to mind so I colored him in as well. I really couldn't be happier with how this one came together! :)

If I could make it better, I would...

Good morning!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and for those celebrating, a very happy Easter Sunday. I spent most of the day at work but was able to enjoy a lovely ham dinner with all the fixin's with my family. All of which didn't leave me with any time to get crafty yesterday, luckily for me I had made a couple extra cards for this month's TGF release so I am sharing one today. This sad sweetie is from the new Feels 3 set and as soon as I saw her I knew that I wanted her to be crying over a spilled ice cream cone, I mean talk about a serious tragedy, LOL! So I colored an empty cone into her hand and some strawberry ice cream at her feet. Then to really sell this story I grabbed the ice cream truck from the older Main Street set and stamped it into the background. The papers and colors were all pulled from the Doodlebug Sweet Summer paper pad really tying the entire scene all together. Even though she sure looks sad I actually had a lot of fun bringing this scene to life. :)

The Sweet November Vault is open...

Hello again... please scroll down for my Bellarific Scenic Saturday post, thank you!

So today is the day we are opening up the Sweet November Vault at 7 Kids and reintroducing you to some classic SN images. We may be getting a bit ahead of ourselves but we couldn't wait until the warmer summer days were upon us before bringing back these three mermaid tots that were originally released back in 2013. So for the next week Nami, Nalu and Hanalei will be available in the 7 Kids store. :)

First up we have little Nami who waves us over to the outcrop of beach rocks she has found to rest on. This is her first year being out of the clam shell nursery and she is so excited to be joining all of her big sisters on their trek through the oceans and seas. It has been a lot of swimming for this mini mermaid but she is loving every minute of this exciting adventure. As the sun rises higher into the sky Nami is feeling a bit parched so it is time for her to jump back into the salty waves.
Hanalei is a bit nervous about going to the surface for the very first time. Up until now all she has known is the calm, gentle swaying of the kelp beds and the lazy currents around the clam shell nursery where she has grown up. Finding herself on the verge of her first big adventure up to the surface she's not sure whether she likes all the hustle and bustle of topside activities but with a bit of coaxing from us and the reassurance of a friendly pair of sea turtles little Hanalei may find the courage to leave her comfort zone and explore new horizons.

And finally little Nalu has strayed from her nursery pod as she rides the crashing surf into the shallows. But this adventurous mermaid isn't scared at all, she loves the thrill of speeding along with the waves jumping and diving as she goes. Nalu is so nimble and quick with her aquatic acrobatics that it can be easy to lose sight of her at times. But just when you think she has disappeared, Nalu bursts out of the surf with a wave and a grin inviting us all into the water for a swim.
The April SN Vault will be open all week so there is plenty of time to get your hands on these cuties. And we are celebrating the release with games. prizes and I will be coloring Live in the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group today at 11am and 3pm PST so I hope to see your there!

Happy Easter...

Hello hello!

I'm up on the Bellarific Blog today with a new Saturday scenic card to share in honor of the Easter holiday tomorrow. While the super sweet Teeny Tiny Townie with a Bouquet isn't specifically an Easter image she can certainly convey the perfect look for a spring celebration with her extra large bouquet of early blooms. For my card I pulled some papers from an older Easter collection and I used them as a guide to color match my Copic markers to. So even though I didn't end up using all of the papers on my card, they were still helpful in creating a pleasing color palette for my simple scene. This is a great trick to use whenever you want to experiment with some different combos because you don't have to worry about them not working well together since the paper designer has already taken care of that for you. When you don't have to stress about what colors to use the scene always comes together pretty quickly and who doesn't love that?

Ok then, stay tuned for some Sweet November Vault fun coming in just a few short hours!

Some Bunny Loves You...

TGIF!

Ready for another Easter card? I've had this cutie from Lili of the Valley for months now just waiting for spring to arrive. She's part of the Lovely set and I suspect that the same artist behind Picket Fence Studios drew this stamp set too. I just love the quirky quality of these girls, coloring them is always so satisfying watching them come to life with each pass of the marker. Because this image came with all the little flowers falling around her I decided to color a blossoming tree in beside her to help account for those falling petals plus it adds some pretty color to the card as well. I gotta say this one came out looking as sweet as Easter candy. :)

Ok, so tomorrow is a big day at 7 Kids as we will be opening the Sweet November Vault and having a great time with games and Live coloring videos so don't miss out on all that fun!

Hey there!

Once again I'm running behind this morning so this will be another quick post. It's been ages since I've colored up one of the lovely digital images from A Day For Daisies so I figured my current Easter card kick was the perfect excuse to print out this darling Chick in Pants and get her on a card. There is just something about this chirpy little chick in her frilly bloomers that tickles me and makes me smile. I made sure to color in the blades of grass nice and tall behind her to try and help sell her small size. I don't know about you but I think she looks ready for this Sunday's festivities. ;)

Later gators!

You make me smile from ear to ear...

Hello, hello!

I have to admit that I just realized Easter Sunday is this weekend and I have barely made any cards for it. It's certainly not for a lack of cute stamps just waiting to get on cards, for some reason I was thinking there was another week to go. So now I have to make some tough choices on who will make it on a card this year and who will have to wait. The super cute SY Easter Bunnies from MFT caught my eye, especially when I grabbed the SY Background Builder to help me quickly put together a pastoral spring scene. There is just something special about these sweet Stacey Yacula critters, I always want to hug and squeeze on them, LOL!

Alrighty, well I will be back tomorrow with another Easter card... see ya then!

Hello Spring...

Good morning!

My schedule at work and home has been quite busy lately but I made some time to color up another one of the darling Dreamerland kids from the February release for my card today. This one is called A Walk in the Field and I think she is just as cute as can be. The original image has her surrounded by a handful of these flowers that reminded me a lot of Grape Hyacinths but because I really wanted her to be immersed in the field of flowers I ended up drawing in a few more. I stuck with a very pretty, pastel color palette for this spring themed card and grabbed a large sentiment from Hello Bluebird to tie everything together.

Well, sorry to post and run but there isn't much help for it. Have a good one!

It happens...

It’s the 15th, and the APRIL RELEASE is now available for purchase in The Greeting Farm Store. Our first set is called FEELS 3 and it piggy backs onto our previous Feels sets, featuring more adorable little girls full of all sorts of different emotions. Our next set, HAPPY TRAVELS has us all dreaming of a tropical vacation get-away with beautiful, sandy beaches and fancy drinks. Our last set called TINY PLANS SM is full of the cutest little girls ready to capture different aspects of life through social media!

To celebrate our release, we are having a short BLOG HOP!! You have until APRIL 18th at 12pm CST/1pm EST to leave your comments on each Designer's Blog and The Greeting Farm Blog. The winner will receive all 3 stamp sets!

TGF Design Team:

This is a short hop, and definitely worth playing along! Of course, if you can't wait for the hop to be over, you can purchase these stamps HERE.

For my card today I am revisiting the Feels 3 set because when I was pairing up and stamping out all these little characters, these two in particular captured my imagination and tickled my funny bone. The looks on their faces brought to mind the misfortune of getting splattered by bird poo and once I saw that there was no un-seeing it so I just had to translate that vision into a funny card. Don't ask me why they are still hanging out under those birds but it looks like another accident is about to happen. ;)

Alright, I won't keep you any longer. Enjoy the hop and have a wonderful week!
