Two new collections at Purple Onion Designs!

Hi friends!

Warm weather fun has arrived at Purple Onion Designs with new stamp collections from both
Chilliezgraphy by Pei and Holly Mabutas. The Tofu and Friends Spring is in the Air collection includes 12 adorable stamps that are perfect for Spring and Summer card making in a variety of themes. And the new Lakewood collection has 25 new images, six of which are amazing background builders, which have quickly become new personal favorites. You will also find five new sentiment sets to choose from, that coordinate perfectly with all of the wonderful new stamps.

My first Pei card is a mini slimline that has the Road Tripping cuties zooming by in their VW convertible. The big dog up front is looking cool in his sun glasses while his passengers are holding on as he takes them for quite a ride. I like to think that they are headed for a day at the beach so I colored in the sky and sea behind the guard rail along the highway. Up in the sky I also added a big, bold sentiment from the Happy Hello sentiment set in a blue ink to coordinate with the background.

And my first Lakewood scene brings together a number of adorable critters playing on the Floating Swim Raft with the Field Background creating the distant scenery. Morris Floats is the kitten laying in the inner tube and he is joined by the mouse, Max Chilling. Up on the raft are the raccoon and fox from the Floatie Gang, while  Bruno Jumps In is the puppy cannon balling into the water. With so many adorable critters to choose from it makes the mixing and matching possibilities feel endless and I can't wait to see who else wants to hang out on the water next time. The sentiment is from the new Summer Days sentiment set and I stamped it on a scrap piece of card stock so the yellow ink would show up better and I also gave it a lift with foam adhesive for extra emphasis.

OK, thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to check out all the rest of the amazing new stamps at Purple Onion Designs!

A day at the beach...

Good morning!

Saturday, I hosted a Live over on the Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page where I paired the beautiful beach babe SN Gal Sunny from the Sweet November with the Coastal Getaway Background Builder set. To change things up, I stamped everything onto an A6 Postage Collage die from Waffle Flower Crafts. By treating each panel as its own mini scene I was able to get a lot of images onto a single card. I took a cue from the sentiment and played up the idea of moving from morning to evening across the card just through my coloring. Through the suggestions from my fellow crafters we ended up with this pretty and unique coral and navy combo that also plays across multiple panels of the card. Heck, we even made sure that Sunny's stylish beach ensemble coordinated as well. After the Live I put the card together and stamped all of the postage themed accents from the Year Round Post Marks set, completing the beautiful beach inspired card.  :)

Have a great week!

Treat Yo'self...

Hello again!

As busy as I've been lately, we are having another review weekend at Sweet November Stamps. But I promise now that I'm all caught up there will be an awesome new digi release next Saturday. In the meantime, I'm feeling the summer vibes so little miss Quinn with her yummy ice cream cone was calling to get on another card. So I stamped her up and since my last card using her had her pool side, this time I wanted to take Quinn to the beach. With her pretty, floral bathing suit and a soft serve swirl cone, it's hard to imagine a better summer day. There is a quick Reel over on Instagram if you would like to see me color this scene and a longer speed coloring will also be added to the Sweet November Stamps Youtube channel as well. You can also join me Live later this morning at 11am PDT over on the Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page for some more sunny summer card making.  :)

Hope to see ya there!

Sending Sunshine...

Hello!

I'm back on the Bellarific blog with another summer fun Scenic Saturday card.  We are returning to the beach, this time with the adorable Beach Bundle Girl in a Pinch. And as a fun twist, I decided to turn the whole scene into an oversized postage stamp.

The first thing I had to do was cut out the Copic X-Press It card stock using a postage frame die. This gave me the smaller window to then create my scene within. Beach Bundle Girl in a Pinch was stamped high enough on the panel that I had plenty of room to color waves lapping onto the shore beneath her. This makes it look like, as she is coming back in from a swim, Bundle Girl is finding a surprise passenger clinging to the backside of her swim suit. Now she has to ponder what to do with this clingy crustacean, LOL! In the distance I added a pair of palm trees for some added color and a rickety beach fence trailing off along the horizon line. Notice how shortening the length of the posts creates the illusion of the fence moving away from us. With Bundle Girl and the scene all colored it was time to assemble the card on a pretty pink card base to match her swimsuit. Once everything was glued down I then stamped on all of the postage themed accents that create the appearance of this being a large postage stamp, along with the coordinating sentiment from the Beach Vibes Sentiment set as the perfect finishing touch.

Stay crafty my friends!

Whale hello there...

TGIF!

Whew! My big drawing deadline just wrapped up so I'm back from my short break from coloring and card making. One of the first things I did once back at my crafty desk was tidy up a bit. That's when I came across this cute Me and My Whale set from Mama Elephant. The teeny tiny mermaids stole my heart and I was excited to stamp them and their whale friends into a scene. My blue Copics got a work out on this one but the near monochromatic scene was a nice way to ease back into card making. I can practically hear the whale song just looking at this sweet scene.  :)

Later gators!

Dive Deep...

Good morning!

On Saturday I colored this mermazing mini slimline scene during my Live over on the Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. The mermaid is SN Gal Merielle from the latest MerMay clear release at Sweet November Stamps. Her dynamic diving pose makes for some pretty fun scene building and story telling. This time around I paired her with the older Under the Sea Horizon Lines, stamping the sea cliffs on either side of Merielle. The cute otter from the Mermees #2 set was the perfect companion to join her on her adventure into the deep. As the suggestions came in during the Live the scene became a kaleidoscope of color and we topped it all off with the bright and flashy colors that we ended up using on Merielle. The end result really showcases this pretty mermaid as the star of the show.  :)

Have a great week, my friends!
