The magic of the season...

Hello!

My final Scenic Saturday post of 2025 is over on the Bellarific blog. I'm wrapping up the holidays with a simple yet elegant card featuring Bundle Girl with Poinsettia.

As much as I love the Bundle Girls, I sometimes struggle with what to do with the ones that are paired with oversized elements like this giant poinsettia blossom. So rather than try to work her into some kind of scene like I usually do, I decided to play with color instead. I began by coloring the poinsettia in classic shades of red then contrasting the sweet little Bundle Girl with a white hat and scarf. Below her and the flower I colored in a dark brown shadow to ground them in this space. I then masked off Bundle Girl with Poinsettia and used more dark brown markers to airbrush color onto the rest of the background. While the mask was still in place I also used a gold shimmer spray to add a bunch of sparkle and magic around the flower. After giving the spray plenty of time to dry, I removed the mask and drew in some matching gold accents on her hat and scarf. The shimmer of the gold paired with the warm reds and browns reads as very classic Christmas, especially once I added the sentiment from the Winter Sentiment set stamped in a spruce green ink. The end result is a pretty quick and simple card to put together that is eye catching yet still all about letting that super cute stamp steal the show.

Merry Christmas and the happiest of holidays to all of my crafty friends!
