Love is in the air...

Hello there!

I'm up on the Bellariffic blog with another Valentine's Day card for this week's Scenic Saturday. This time around the cute little Bundle Girl on a Plane seemed like a fun and playful choice, especially when I paired her with just the hearts from the Bundle Girl with Falling Hearts stamp. There were a few choices I made when laying out this design to help play up the feel of movement within the scene. The first was deciding on a long mini slimline card size to provide plenty of space for this Bundle Girl to sail across. When I stamped her on the card front I also made sure to position the stamp so that both the tip of the plane and part of the winding trail ran off the edges. By having part of the image disappear out of frame it opens up the space that the scene is occupying and allows the viewers eye to imagine the scene extending out beyond the card. Finally, the trailing hearts that I added by inking up just the hearts from the Bundle Girl with Falling Hearts stamp, start above her raised hand and flutter back the entire length of the card, making it look like she has released them into the wind. All of these things combined, work together to achieve that sense of motion that I was after with this cutie. The sentiment is another one from the LOVE SENTIMENT SET and the way it is nestled in at the end of the motion trail brings all of the various elements full circle in a visually pleasing manner. So even though the completed scene is pretty clean and simple, I hope you've enjoyed this glimpse into my thought process when creating.  :)

Stay crafty my friends!

I love you so much...

TGIF!

I was looking through my binder of Bean stamps from The Greeting Farm and came across this cute Up Up Bean with her heart shaped balloons. Just out of curiosity, I searched my blog to see when the last time I had inked her up was and color me surprised to see that it was way back in 2014. A decade seemed long enough for her to wait in between cards, so I grabbed Up Up Bean and proceeded to make this Valentine with her and one of the sentiments from the new Be Mine set that just released. Afterwards it was fun to do a side by side and see how far my coloring and card making style has progressed in all that time. :)

Alrighty then, have a great weekend my friends!

Love birds...

Hey there!

I still had this sweet cookie scene all printed out and sitting on my desk from when we had the Valentine Cookies digi release at Sweet November Stamps and yesterday felt like the perfect time to finally get it colored up and on a card. For this one I paired the rose cookie from Set 1 with the lovebird cookie from Set 2 and put them both on the cooling rack. Then I used the cookie alphabet set to spell out the love birds sentiment. This time around I wanted to make it look like they were all resting on a pretty pink table cloth, with a few wrinkles just for some added interest. I kept the birds and sentiment light and bright so they would really stand out against all that purpley pink. Now I'm thinking I might need to make some time to bake some actual cookies because I'm craving something just as sweet as this card.  ;)

Later gators!

Me without you...

Hello, hello!

I grabbed the Nine Lives stamp set full of cute kitties from Hello Bluebird yesterday because I thought these two snuggle bugs would be perfect for a Valentine's Day card. They way they both are laying I knew I could mask them into a cozy scene where they are enjoying a nice cat nap in the window seat together. To play up the Valentine's theme I colored a heart covered blanket beneath them and added some hearts in the air above them using stamps from the Winter Skate set. I used the Gallery Frame #2 die to contain the scene and continued it down to the lower panel where I stamped the sentiment as well. I gotta say, even though these kitties aren't technically part of a Valentine's stamp set, they sure have me feeling the love, LOL!  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

A winter full of wonder...

Hey there!

So this past weekend, Sweet November design team member, Lisa Jannaway, made a super cute card using the broken floor from the Simple Room: Pirate Add-on set as a hole in the ice. I was so inspired by her brilliant twist that I just had to make a card using this technique as well. I chose to print out North from the North Pole Pals digis, leaving room at the bottom of the card to then stamp a fish from the  Fairwees Make a Splash clear set, masking it off an then stamping the hole using a grey ink so that it would look like the fish is popping out of the water inside the hole in the ice. I'm so pleased with the end result and I have Lisa to thank for sharing her creativity with all of us.  :)

Toodles!

My favorite everything...

Good morning!

How adorable are these little mice from the new Love and Joy collection at Purple Onion Designs? They are called Micey Smooches and I think they tell such a sweet story of love for Valentine's Day. I paired them with the older Bridge stamp to help create a park scene behind them. The sun is shining and all is right in their lovey dovey world. The sentiment is from the Love Sentiment set and it was just what I needed to pull the whole card together.

Okay, gotta run... have a great week!

Lots and lots of love...

Hello again!

I've got one more card to share using the new Baby Cupids digital stamp collection at Sweet November Stamps. I printed the Cupid and the Dove image once again and this time I even added a couple more of the birds, flipping them and tilting them for some easy variation. I colored this during my Live yesterday over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page and I wasn't surprised when my fellow crafters wanted to see the rainbow colored clouds background that I had done on yesterday's cards. So I went ahead and did a version of them that also included the tops of some trees down at the very bottom of the card. I gotta say, these little Cupids are just making me all kinds of happy.  :)

Have a good one my friends!
