Hello!
It's time for another Scenic Saturday and I'm on the Bellariffic blog with something fun for MerMay. I couldn't wait to print out the new Squidgy Mermaid for my card today.
Most of the Stamping Bella digital stamps were previously released in rubber but this adorable Squidgy Mermaid was found in the archives so she is brand new. With her happy smile and flowing curls, she looks to be just about the sweetest mermaid in the sea. After printing her and the sentiment I thought she needed a friend or two so I grabbed this sea turtle from the retired Little Bits Beach set and stamped it three times. I then proceeded to color them all up and then mask them off so I could use a wave stencil and the Copic air brush system to add the flowing water all around them. I air brushed the water in a gradient from light down to dark to create the effect of the water deepening. To create the bubbles trailing behind these cuties I used the Colorless Blender marker to push the blue ink out into lighter round dots before adding drops of glossy accents over each one. A sprinkling of additional white dots using a white gel pen adds to the sense of movement through this simple scene. I hope this card inspires you to ink up or print out one of the many mermazing mermaids you can find at Stamping Bella this MerMay.
Stay crafty my friends!
