I nearly missed the deadline for this week's MFT sketch challenge. To be honest I wasn't super inspired by it for the longest time because I just wasn't feeling the three wonky rectangles that made up the design. But as I was flipping through my stamps and came across the Mon Cheri set I realized that I could substitute the Eiffel Tower and this sweet girl for two of the off set rectangles and then add a sentiment strip for the block up top. Setting the scene this way makes me all kinds of happy and I'm really happy that I gave this sketch a second look. :)
Later gators!

It's still plenty cold around here with our highs hovering just above freezing. At least there isn't any new snowfall on the forecast in the immediate future. The constant bundling up did inspire me to print out this beauty called 'Baby it's cold outside' from The East Wind and create a card with her. I decided to grab my R80 family of Copics since they are underused in my collection and once I paired that mauve pink with the warm greys to make the plaid scarf it totally reminded my of a shirt I had as a kid back in the 80's, LOL! This pretty gal is totally pulling off the look though. The birch bark background paper is more of that Simple Stories Winter Wonderland collection and I think it adds to the cold, outdoorsy feel that I was going for. :)
Well, I should get moving... got a full to-do list to tackle today.

Well it's another Friday and I find myself playing along in the Bellafrific Challenge once again. This past week I received my order of new Tiny Townies and it looks like Rose truly is the queen of the garden because she is the first to get on a card. Actually I adore all of the new Garden Girls because they take me back to my childhood obsession with Rose Petal Place dolls, books and even VHS videos, LOL! What can I say? Apparently things haven't changed much for me over the years, only now my obsession is little flower girl stamps rather than dolls. The reason Rose was first to get inked is because this week's challenge is a photo inspiration that featured a decorative frame adorned with roses and vines, thus the easy decision. I colored her up just like my old Rose Petal doll with pink hair and pink rose dress and I think she pulls the look off marvelously. :)
Alrighty folks, another day another dollar. Hope you have a crafty weekend!

My order from The Greeting Farm arrived in my mailbox the other day and I couldn't wait to play with my new stamps. Which to ink up first though? Ultimately I chose this fantastic little doctor from the Get Well Soon clear set... mostly because I had this heart beat die that I've been waiting for the right character to pair it up with and she seemed perfect. I went with a red and teal color combo and I like that it makes the card work either as a Valentine or a get well card. The design is super CAS but I didn't like any of the embellishments that I was pulling to maybe go on it so I decided to just let the stamps and dies speak for themselves. :)
Laters!

I'm practicing my no-line coloring again, this time with another of the super cute Roberto's Rascals Cupids. My confidence in the technique is building but I still look at it and see all of the things I could have done better. Still, it feels good to be pushing my skills. I love how this little guy is positively bursting with love and affection. I imagined him throwing confetti in his joy so I sprinkled sequins and die cuts around for an explosion of love. I gotta say, that I'm having a lot of fun with Valentine's cards this year.
Some Odd Girl is currently celebrating their 8th birthday and part of the festivities is a Facebook color challenge using this fun Crazy Love Tia digi. Since I already had her printed out and sitting on my desk I figured this was the perfect time to get Tia and her reluctant snuggle buddy on a card. Being a crazy cat lady myself, I have a lot of inspiration running around me for when it came to time to color up the kitty. Ultimately I decided to make him a tabby after my guy, Oscar. Back in November Oscar got hit by a car one evening and I didn't find him 'til early the following morning, cold and wet and unable to move. I was so scared for my poor little guy as he mewed pitifully at me. After a trip to the vet we found out his femur in his back leg was broken in three places and there was nerve damage to his front leg as well. Luckily I have an amazingly wonderful vet and she was able to mend Oscar's injuries. Oscar's new nick name is the Incredible Mr. Limp-it because he kind of hobbles around but with time he is getting quicker and more sure of himself. Needless to say I was as happy as Tia here when I got my Oscar back and these days he'd rather be on the move than snuggled for too long too. :) Talk at'cha later!
So sorry for my lack of post on Friday, computer issues have been plaguing me since the middle of last week and I couldn't get connected to the internet. Blerg, it's such an inconvenience when your tech decides to act up. Anywho... things seem to be in working order for the moment so I can finally share this card that I made for the current MFT sketch challenge. This time around I grabbed the totes adorbs Magical Unicorn stamp set to be the star of the show and I was inspired by the Artistic Expression post by Jane Allen to play around with some no-line coloring. I've only tried my hand at no-line coloring a couple of times but Jane is so inspiring that she has me wanting to get more confident with the technique. The lightest Momento ink I have on hand is Desert Sand so that's what I used for stamping the images. I've still got a long ways to go but I'm pretty happy with how this little unicorn and her castle in the clouds turned out.
Ok, back to work I go. Have a great week everybody! :)

We are in the midst of a winter storm that is dumping more snow on us and apparently it is supposed to continue until the middle of next week. Oy! I'm definitely struggling with those mid-winter blues... I need sunshine and warmer temps ASAP! Until then I guess I'll just continue to create winter cards that put a smile on my face. This beautiful pinecone fairy is from Impronte d'Autore and is called Fatina Pigna. Well of course I had to pair her up with the Simple Stories Winter Wonderland papers because it has this gorgeous pinecone print that suits her perfectly. She looks so dreamy fluttering across the cold winter sky sprinkling happy thoughts as she goes. :) Ok, time for me to scoot. TTFN!

I'm in a bit of a rush this morning so I'm going to have to post and run with this one. I decided to lift the layout design from the card I posted Monday to create a Valentine featuring the Roberto's Rascals Cupids set. The clouds and heart sunburst were too perfect for setting the scene with this little guy that I had to revisit it. Just look at Cupid flying high and taking aim at some unsuspecting target down below... someone is falling in love today!
Alrighty then, time for me to fly now... laters! :)

I made this card for the MFT sketch challenge and I am getting it in just under the wire. The super CAS design caught my eye immediately and got the creative wheels spinning. I ended up using some of the little accessory stamps from the Our Story stamp set to create this sweet vignette of the kitty sleeping on a pile of books. As I spend my days with a few of my own kitties this is a familiar scene, they love finding the oddest spots to take a cat nap. So this card totally brings to mind a cozy day spent at home, curled up with a furry friend or two and a good book. :)

Today's card was inspired by my crafty pal and former TGF teamie, Jess Marin. Jess has a way of combining different stamp sets to create whimsical scenes that always puts a smile on my face. So when I came across this pegasus from the Your Wings set that I had colored and cut out months ago I decided to get creative and do something special with her. This got me looking through my other TGF clear sets and when I found this seated fairy from the Little Fairies set a light bulb went of in my head. What if this little fairy was catching a ride through the sky with her friend? Now there wasn't quite enough room on pegasus' back so I sat her on the tail instead. I also clipped the fairy's ponytail giving her a short bob. My second bit of Jess inspiration came when I started putting the card together. Several times Jess used lovely mixes of pattern papers with her cloud border dies and I wanted to do the same. So I grabbed some scraps and layered them beneath the shining sun and I am so happy with the results, so much so that I'm going to use this card as my second entry into this month's Farm Fresh challenge. :)
Toodles!

It's Friday the 13th wooOoOoOooo! Hopefully no freaky Friday tricks are coming my way today. It's also Bellarific Friday over at Stamping Bella and I'm playing along in this week's sketch challenge. This time around I inked up Tiny Townie Skylar Loves to Skate and pulled out more of the Simple Stories Winter Wonderland papers to go with. Because of Skylar's pose I wanted to give her plenty of space to skate so I ended up flipping the sketch horizontally. How pretty is she as she spins and skates her way across that frozen pond, what a cutie. Well, it's the first weekend of the annual Fire and Ice festival here in town so things should be pretty busy. Have a good one everybody! :)
Since I seem to be vacillating between winter cards and Valentine's Day cards, today I've got a happy heart day girlie to share. This darling image is Dollie with Hearts from TGF and I snapped her up with a few of her sisters during an end of the year sale. So I feel like I'm doing really well by getting Dollie on a card this quickly. I don't know about you but I find the disheveled and slightly frazzled look of the Dollies to be quite charming. I paired her with this old floral paper I found in my stash because I love pink and brown combos especially for Valentine's Day... because the day just wouldn't be the same without a bit of chocolate, LOL! And since the current Farm Fresh Challenge is "Anything Goes" I'm throwing this card into the ring. :)
Catch ya on the flip side!

I'm continuing my little tradition of pairing the 4 Season's Boys up with the same papers and colors as their corresponding girl stamps. So Winter here is all bundled up and chillaxin' in a colorful Doodlebug snowstorm. Even those low hanging clouds can't get this happy dude down. All I know is that it would be nice if he could do some shoveling for me, LOL! I'm just having so much fun with these great Roberto's Rascals stamps, I hope they make more of these kind of sets in different themes.
Alrighty, busy day ahead so I should get moving. Laters!

This beautiful little digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil is called Beth and she reminded me so much of my crafty pal Brooke when she wears her JoJo Bows that I had to get Beth on a card in her honor. I printed Beth out so that she would be the same height as the card front thus making sure that she would make a big impact on this simple layout. I pulled the paper from an old MME paper pad specifically to use with Beth because not only did it already have a sentiment on it but that big bouquet of flowers did most of the embellishing work for me too. A sprinkling of sequins and pearls was all I added to complete this CAS card. :)
Ok folks, thanks for stopping by!

It snowed all day yesterday so once again we are up to our knees in the white stuff. I'm definitely going to be out there with the shovel at some point. Sigh... I'm really kinda over winter already, I either need to take a tropical vacation or pray for an early spring. ;)
I made today's card for this week's MFT sketch challenge. The simple layout really spoke to me and I thought it would be fun to take the tea cups from the Tea Party die set and stack them up for the vertical element in the sketch. Once that was done I couldn't resist adding a sweet little hedgehog from the Happy Hedgehogs set to the top cup because he looked like he was brimming over with happiness just like the sentiment says. I went with the pink/orange/yellow combo because it is bright and cheery and one of my happiest color combos. Alrighty, time for me to bundle up and head out into the cold and snow. Stay warm everybody!

Good news! After a morning wrestling with the plumbing I once again am enjoying running water. Is it crazy that I'm looking forward to this weekend's snowstorm because warmer temps are coming with it? And by warmer I mean at freezing instead of this constant below freezing week we've just had. So I was flipping through my stamps yesterday and realized that it had been way too long since I made a card with a lovely little Gorjuss Girl stamp. When I came across Heartfelt I knew that a Valentine's Day card was going to happen. Now usually I pick my papers first and match my Copics to it but this time I just started coloring. I ended up using pinks that aren't a usual go-to for me and I gotta say that I'm quite pleased with the end result, Heartfelt is really rockin' the hot pink. I used a shimmery white Smooch gloss on her heart necklace which looks really pretty in person though in this photo it just looks flat. But I promise it looks very shiny and pretty in real life.
Ugh... yesterday was a day. It got so cold for so long that our water pipes froze and it has been no fun trying to thaw them back out. I'm so tired of these below freezing temps, can it just be spring already? So with my current attitude towards the season you can see the irony of the sentiment I chose to go with this lovely Hi Mae digi from Some Odd Girl. Sure, love may keep you warm but it doesn't keep the water running, LOL! Once again the sentiment and paper are from the Simple Stories Winter Wonderland paper pad that I can't get enough of and I had a blast coloring Mae to match it. Now I'm wishing I could raid her wardrobe. ;)
With the temps here hitting single digit lows I figured it was the perfect time to ink up the winter cutie from the Roberto's Rascals 4 Seasons Girl set. I'm not sure how long I would last outside without a hat, gloves and warmer coat though, still she seems to be managing just fine. I paired Winter up with the Polar Pals paper pad from Doodlebug because I really wanted to play with some blue and purple color combos. The little Husky pups were fussy cut from the paper as well and I think they make for a couple of sweet cold weather pals for Winter to hang out with. Just a sweet, simple card with a great message I think. :)
It's been too long since I've played along in a Bellarific Friday Challenge so when it came time to ink up a stamp yesterday I knew just the binder to go through. The beautiful Bonnie Loves Bows Tiny Townie caught my eye immediately. As fast as time seems to be flying Valentine's Day will be here before we know it so best to get a jump start on things. Because the current challenge is 'free form' I could do whatever I wanted with Bonnie. I ended up keeping the design very CAS so there would be plenty of room for that large scripty sentiment that I really wanted to pair with her. The pinks and reds and cream all came from that scrap of glittery paper that I found in my stash and the color combo is so dreamy to me.
Alrighty, time to get ready for work. Have a good one everybody! :)

Ah, the fresh start of a new year. Ya gotta love the feeling of possibility and hope that comes at the beginning of things. I've got a few things on my plate in my professional life that I'm anxious and excited to see where they go this year. Creatively my only goal is to get more of my as yet unused stamps inked up and on to cards. Other than that this girl just wants to have fun, LOL! My first card of 2017 checks both of those criteria off my list. This adorable Snowman with Squirrels stamp was added to my collection back in November and at least it only took me a couple months to find him a home. And I used some more of the gorgeous Winter Wonderland paper collection that I'm currently addicted to... it's soooo pretty!
Talk at'cha later my friends!
