It's a sweet Christmas Vault release!

Hello and welcome to this month's Sweet November Vault release. We have dug way back in the Vault to the 2013 release of Gingy and his gingerbread friends. For the next week all five of these sweet-as-can-be gingerbread pals will be available as new, updated digital stamps in the 7 Kids store. But don't wait too long to add them to your digi collection because once next Saturday rolls around... back in the Vault they will go. Now let's take a minute or two to reacquaint ourselves with these cookie cuties.
While Santa is in the workshop overseeing toy production for the upcoming holiday season, Mrs. Claus is busy baking up all sorts of sweet treats in the kitchen. And she's not alone, she's got help from Gingy, the sweet little gingerbread man brought to life by Christmas magic. Gingy and his pals are busy at the cookie station... a place where they naturally feel right at home. One of the little gingerbread men is taking a break from rolling out dough, stopping to rest atop the well used rolling pin, while Gingy himself is practicing his skills with the icing bag. And the best part is that we get to enjoy the tasty delights that these magical Christmas gingerbread men have made just for us.
Gingy is quite the artiste when it comes to decorating all of the treats and delicacies that Mrs. Claus whips up. Today he is using candy canes to make a heart pattern on his fancy gingerbread house. It's Gingy's way to represent the love that is the spirit of the season. They have also been sorting the biggest and best of the gumdrops for the special gingerbread house that they've all been putting together.
Christmas magic has brought these cute cookies to life and they love to spend their days decorating all sorts of holiday confections. One of the most important jobs in the kitchen is popping popcorn for the garland strands that decorate the official North Pole Christmas tree. Gingy always pops extra popcorn so there is plenty to string and just enough left over to munch on.

Tis the season to be spooky...

TGIF!

How about another parade of costumed critters today... only this time from Hello Bluebird? These adorable trick or treaters are from the Little Haunters set that was released last month and I just couldn't let Halloween come and go without getting them on a card. The sentiment that I colored into a sign post is also part of the set and it actually lead me in the direction of adding a spooky forest background for these cuties. Luckily they don't seem too concerned about taking this eerie detour... must be all that candy they are hopped up on, LOL!

See ya tomorrow for this month's SN Vault release!

Trick or Sweets...

Hello again!

I'm still having fun inking up Halloween stamps that I've added to my collection this year and today is all about the Spooktacular Friends set from My Favorite Things. These happy-go-lucky trick or treating critters look like they are dancing and skipping their way from house to house. I love that this set came with so many great scene builders as well to make that vision come to life. It was super easy to mask this all together in a way that pushed the house deep into the background and pulled the cuties close up to the front of the scene so that it looks like they will skip right out of view any moment now. :)

Creep it real, LOL!

Octobers...

Good morning!

Some Odd Girl is celebrating Oddtober this month with all sorts of challenges, flash sales and other fun events. I've been so busy that this is the first day I've had free to play along in the celebration. All year long Kristy has been adding fun Zodiac digis that are free during their release month and when I grabbed Taurus back in May I knew right away that I wanted to transform her into a cute Oktoberfest girl. So the timing couldn't be more perfect when I saw that SOG is hosting a Zodiac Challenge in their Facebook group and it runs until the 27th. Originally this little gal has a set of Taurus horns on her head but I just used a cut up Post It note to block them both off before I ran my card stock through the printer, then I grabbed a Copic black multiliner pen to fill in the blank spaces with smooth hair to transform her into this Bavarian bar maid. I had a blast coloring her up in all these warm fall colors and even gave her a festive fair ground to inhabit with the help from the Fall Banner Buddies stamp set by Hello Bluebird and ribbon banners from Papertrey Ink. Now I kinda want to visit our nearest Oktoberfest and enjoy some yummy pretzels and brauts! LOL

Later gators!

It’s the 15th, and the OCTOBER RELEASE is now available for purchase in The Greeting Farm Store! The 2nd set called LITTLE ELVES has an entire crew of worker elves getting all the toys ready in Santa's workshop. Next, we have THE MORE THE MERRIER with the cutest woodland animals celebrating the holidays in style. Lastly, we introduced two new large word dies: SANTA BABY and MERRY CHRISTMAS.
To celebrate we are having a short BLOG HOP, where one lucky fan will take home the entire release! We will announce the random winner later in the week.

This is a short hop so definitely worth playing along! And if you can't wait for the hop to be over, you can purchase these stamps and cutting dies HERE.

For my card today I wanted to play with the Little Elves set again and this time pair a few of the mini elves with the Sasquatch turned Yeti from the S'more Fun Add On digital set. I was inspired by the end of the classic Rudolph show where the Bumble comes back just in time to help them put the star on the top of the tree. Everything else on the card comes with the Little Elves set, even the sentiment!
Alrighty, I won't keep you any longer. Enjoy the hop and good luck!

Bone chilling fun...

Hey there!

I'm up on the Bellarific blog with another Scenic Saturday post and today we are getting a little spooky just in time for Halloween.  The new Grim Reaper Bundle girl totally cracks me up, I like to call her Baby Grimmy. Sure she may be a harbinger of death but when you are as cute as she is it is hard to be scared, LOL! When thinking about a scene for Baby Grimmy I went straight to the Little Bits Haunted House Outdoor Decorations set which gave me the tombstones for her graveyard and the friendly bats flying up above. She still needed a friend though so I pulled the ghosty from the Little Bits Mummy, Frankie and Ghosty set. I like to think Grimmy is visiting an old friend on Halloween night, though hopefully she isn't the reason Ghosty landed there in the first place!
As for the night scene I colored them into, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to talk about the importance of shadows. Sure shadows can be spooky and perfect for Halloween but they are an important tool in your scene coloring tool box beyond just night scenes. By adding darker color beneath your characters and pulling it out and away from them in a chosen direction not only does this help ground them into the scene but it also reinforces the light source you have determined. Just make sure they pull out opposite that light source, for example... notice the bright full moon in the top right corner of my card, all of my shadows pull out to the left away from the moon. The longer and more exaggerated you make the shadows the more drama you add to your scene. I really hope this inspires you to have fun playing with light and shadow on your next card scene.

Have a crafty weekend my friends!

The more the merrier...

Hi friends!

It's day three of the Greeting Farm's October release and today we are introducing a new set of Christmas critters called The More the Merrier. This set includes nine woodland animals along with a sentiment and a couple accessory stamps. For my card I wanted to give these cuties the no line treatment for a soft, illustrative feel. The door and wreath that are included in the set brought to mind a hobbit hole type dwelling so once I stamped and masked all of the characters in I colored the background into a snow covered underground home. :)

Now hop on over to the TGF blog to see all the merry Christmas cards from my fellow Farmers using the new The More the Merrier set. Then check back Monday for the fourth and final day of previews before the big release one the 15th.

Have a holly jolly Christmas...

Hello again!

It's day two of the October previews at The Greeting Farm and today we are introducing the new Little Elves set. These wee little elves are just in time for all the upcoming Christmas card making and holiday planning. The set includes a dozen cute elves busy with different festive activities as well as some extra accessory stamps and sentiments. For my card today I wanted to build the workshop around the window that comes in the set so I did a bit of masking to place one of the elves inside and then added trees, elves and string lights to the outside before I got to coloring. Once I had all of the main images in place it was easy to color in the walls and snow around them until I had the bustling North Pole workshop scene that I was after. :)

Ok, time to head on over to the TGF blog for even more Little Elves fun from my fellow Farmers. And don't forget that the entire release will be available for purchase on the 15th. See you back here tomorrow for day three!

Christmas Joy...

Hey there!

It's time to kick off previews for the October release at The Greeting Farm! Adding a new Holiday Anya to the line up has become something of a tradition on The Farm and today we are introducing you to the newest cutie in that collection, Holiday Anya 7. She is an absolute doll in her knit cap, holding that delicious gingerbread cookie. I wanted Anya to be a bit entrepreneurial this Christmas so I paired her with a cocoa stand stamp from my stash. I think she must be taking a break from selling hot cocoa and warm cookies to skaters at the local ice pond as she munches on her own wares. Hey, a girl has got to make sure the quality control is there right? LOL!

Be sure to check out the TGF blog to see all of the super sweet cards from my fellow Farmers using the new Holiday Anya 7. Then come back tomorrow as we continue with day two of previews. :)

Joy to you and yours...

Hello, hello!

I've been busy gearing up for the TGF previews that are starting tomorrow so today seemed like the perfect day to share this extra card that I had made for the last release. This happy girl is from the Miss Anya Hello Winter set as well as that funny mini snowman. I was inspired by an old Calvin and Hobbes comic strip where Calvin fills his yard full of mini snowmen and stamped this guy repeatedly around her feet. She looks so excited to find herself among these frosty friends and who can blame her? I also added the bench from the retired Sitting Lovely Anya set to help create the winter park scene that I was going for. The color palette is light and frosty and totally girly too. All in all this card really makes me smile!

Alrighty then, see you back here tomorrow for day 1 of the October previews!

Best witches...

Good morning!

I recently got my order of new Hello Bluebird Fall and Halloween stamps from 7 Kids and as much as I love them all this Tabitha set had to be the first one I inked up. This sweet little witch with all of her cute kitties just completely stole my heart. I wanted to set them all up in front of a big hearth complete with a bubbling cauldron and I did quite a bit of masking to get them all in there without it looking too overcrowded. From creating the stack of pumpkin and books to giving that playful kitty down front a potion bottle to bat around, I tried to think of different ways to incorporate a bunch of the small accessory stamps that come in the set as well. Even the wall hanging sentiment and stars are part of this magical stamp set. It was a fun challenge for sure!

Alrighty, off to work I go... it's my Friday LOL! Yeah!

You put a spell on me...

TGIF my friends!

I finally got my first clear stamps from Moonlight Whispers this week and I was just itchin' to get my hands on this Naughty Leo stamp first thing. Naughty Leo is the third installment in the zodiac series that Annie is doing and each one has a kind of dark and twisty look to them. Right away I thought that Leo looked like she could be a Halloween witch with that hat she's wearing and since there is quite a wait before a Leo birthday I decided to do a bit of altering and transform Leo into that witch instead. All I had to do was take a baby wipe and wipe away the ink from the cat ears and tail that were on the hat as well as the zodiac symbol with her leg on it. Then I stamped the image and used a black Copic multiliner pen to fill in the gaps on her hat and sketch in a giant pumpkin for her to be leaning over. Just like that Naughty Leo became a cheeky, pin-up girl kind of witch that was a whole lot of fun to color up. :)

Ok then, have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Olo!

I'm back on the TGF blog today with another card featuring the amazing new Spellbinding kit that is in the shop right now! On my last card I took it in a very Halloween spooky, cute direction but with this one I wanted to visit a certain wizarding world. Because I wanted to fit all three magical friends into the scene without crowding them I decided to make a vertical slimline card. This layout design provided me the opportunity to color them into a scene that catches the young wizards as they are coming down a castle staircase. Considering they all have their wands in hand I suspect they are heading to a first year spell casting class, which also lead to my choice of sentiment from the set as well. I'm telling you, if you've been on the fence with this kit don't wait too long because once it's sold out it will be a long while before we see it again. :)
Thanks for stopping by and I hope your day is magical!

All Hallow's Eve Ladies day 2

Hello again!

We sure got our spooky on while celebrating the October Ladies of All Hallow's Eve release from Sweet November Stamps over in the  7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group yesterday. These two hauntingly cool cards are the results of the Live coloring videos that I did, the first one features Saoirse the Seer cropped in nice and tight to really shine that light of her crystal ball on the world.
The second card that I colored Live features the beautiful but possibly dangerous Vampiress Mircea and once again I played with cropping and sizing to change up the look of this digi. We also played around with a different skin tone to make her super pale and rather unhealthy looking.
My final coloring video for this release is today at 11am PST, we have a game still running and the Mega Bundle Deal is good until tomorrow morning... so there is still a lot going on and I hope we see you there! :)

Meet the Ladies of All Hallow's Eve...

Hello and welcome to the October digi release for Sweet November Stamps at 7 Kids! This month we are continuing our celebration of Halloween but have shifted gears from cute and sweet to elegant and mysterious. We are adding three new characters to the Sweet November family with the Ladies of All Hallow's Eve.
Of course it wouldn't be Halloween without a Mistress of the Night to mesmerize and beguile. The Vampiress Mircea has survived for centuries under the cover of darkness. Full of grace and beauty she lives in the shadows always on the hunt for her next unsuspecting... companion. ;)
Saoirse the Seer may appear to be a wandering gypsy, traveling the countryside in her colorful wagon. But think twice before asking her for an innocent palm reading or a look at your tarot cards because Saoirse's skills are far beyond such trivial fancies. With a magic hand she deftly brews potions that can bend a person's will or alter them in unimaginable ways. And when she gazes into her crystal ball she can see things you may not be ready to know.
And finally there is Willamina the Wraith. This unfortunate lass was brought to an untimely end by foul and mysterious deeds, cursing her to haunt the place she once called home for all eternity. On moonlit nights you may catch sight of this enchanting spirit as she floats through the air but don't let her catch sight of you because legend has it that Willamina is looking for someone to join her on the other side.
Instead of a Halloween FREE DIGI we have jumped ahead to another fall holiday and have Turkey Lurkey up for grabs today and tomorrow, FREE to all members of the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group. He's hoping he ony has one thing to be thankful for this year... not ending up on the Thanksgiving table!
We also have a special MEGA BUNDLE DEAL going in the store for the next two days, where you can get all three of the Ladies of All Hallow's Eve bundles for $15. :)
And this month we have the final exclusive Fairy Tot digital stamp which is only available to participants of the September Sweet November posting challenge. We know that sometimes it can be intimidating to put ourselves out there and share our creativity so these monthly Fairy Tots have been our way of thanking everyone who plays along and shares the Sweet November love.
And don't miss out on all the fun and games and Live coloring videos I will be doing in the  7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group over the next two days as well, we would love to have you join us!
