Cheers to the new year...

Wow!

Well here we are. Not only is it the last day of the year but the last day of the decade as well... that is SO crazy! These past ten years have been quite the creative journey for me. I fell in love with stamps and Copics and card making in that time and my passion is still going strong. The big bonus in all this has been all of the amazing women I have gotten to know over the years because of this hobby. So many talented creatives who have both inspired and encouraged me along the way. I count myself lucky to be part of such an amazing community.

To ring in this new decade I did a bit of altering to Curvy Girl with Bubbly by wiping away the candy cane from the champagne flute before stamping then just carefully drawing in the missing lines on the glass to take this fun party girl out of Christmas mode and into a New Year's celebration. It's all about the sparkle on this card, from her glitzy dress to the gold bokeh background... she's definitely welcoming 2020 in style. ;)

And just for fun I thought it would be a good opportunity to share my very first Copic colored card from mid 2009. I remember being so nervous putting my handful of brand spankin' new Copic markers to paper for the first time but I was hooked as soon as I did. I keep telling everyone in my Live coloring videos that getting better is all about time and practice and this is proof of that... just look at the difference in skill and technique that 10 years has made. So wherever you may be in your creative journey as we usher in this new decade, keep pushing yourself to grow and learn. I promise you will be amazed with how far you can go!

Happy new year my friends!

Decorated with happiness...

Good morning!

I've got one final catch up card to share today before moving on to brand spanking new designs. This cute little Christmas Gingey was part of a Vault release at 7 Kids and I colored him up during one of my Lives in the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group. We did things a bit different as I showed how I picked Copic colors to try and match the pretty striped paper that was also going on the card.

I also want to let everyone know that today and tomorrow only we are having a very special Sweet November digi sale in the 7 Kids store. All past Vault releases have returned for good and you can get them all for 40% OFF! It's our end of the year thank you to all our amazing supporters of Sweet November Stamps and 7 Kids. :)

Christmas catch up...

Hello, hello!

I'm still playing catch up with posting the rest of my 2019 cards here on the ol' blog. These are both Christmas cards from a couple of Facebook Lives that I did at 7 Kids. This first one was from the Sweet November release at the beginning of the month and it features the pretty Pine Fairy digital stamp. We had a great time giving her a sparkly party dress and practicing those cool snow covered pine branches a bit more. The video can be seen here.

And this happy duo are Ming Ming the elf and Dancer the reindeer from the Sweet November Very Merrwee Christmas release. We put them both in a barn with lots of hay on the ground during this Live video and I think the scene turned out really cute. If you wanna see the video you can catch it here.  :)

Playing catch up...

I like to take this week between Christmas and New Years to catch up on posting cards and projects that haven't made it up on the ol' blog yet. Last year I had a bunch but this year is much more reasonable so I did a lot better on getting them up in a timely manner. Today I've got a couple projects from this past fall to share, first are the ATC cards that I made back in September for a swap at 7 Kids. I used a bunch of Mini Gorjuss Girls since they are the perfect size for these smaller cards and gave each one it's own unique fall background.
And next I've got a card from the Sweet November October release featuring the Wraith Willamina digi bundle. I colored her during a Live coloring in the 7 Kids Customers Create Facebook group but didn't get the card finished in time for Halloween though we had a lot of fun creating that spooky, stormy scene behind our glowing Willamina. :)

Sliding by to say hi...

Hello crafty friends!

I hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday whether they were celebrating Christmas or not. I had a wonderful time with my family. We had so much fun exchanging gifts, playing games and enjoyed a really great meal. This lucky girl was surprised with a new Gemini Junior and I can't wait to get it all set up. Here I was all prepared to stick with my little Cuttlebug until it went kaput but now I'm feeling quite professional with my die cutting, LOL!
So today I've got my last card as a guest designer for Three Room Studio to share. This set is called Welcome Winter and it is perfect for these cold and snowy months after the big holiday. I chose to use the sledding polar bear and squirrels along with some of the trees from the set to create this scene of them racing down the hillside. I wanted them to look like they were really racing down that slope so I wiped away some of the black ink from the back of the inner tube before stamping, leaving me with white space that I could turn into flying snow. I reinforced that by dabbing on some white ink as well. That little trick along with stamping them at an angle totally gave this scene the speed and energy that I was after. :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

A merry little Christmas...

Hello, hello!

Tonight is Christmas Eve and I will be spending the next couple of days with family. But real quick before I take off, I finally had a play with the super cute Secret Santa set that I got from MFT last year. It has been waiting patiently to get on a card and now it has the honor of going up for the big night. I just love these little kiddos in their Christmas pajamas and Santa peeking out from behind the tree. I immediately saw the story I wanted to tell and got a little help from the Our Story set also by Birdie Brown. At first I just needed the little side table to put the milk and cookies on but how could I resist adding the sleeping pets under the tree as well? Lots of fun playing with the contrast between the dark and light rooms and all the different light sources so this makes me a very happy colorist. ;)

Merry Christmas and may we all enjoy celebrating the season. Hugs!

All is calm. All is bright...

Good morning!

We're in the home stretch now... T minus two days and counting until Christmas day is here. I'm just waiting on one last package to arrive and I will be good to go, so fingers crossed that it is in the mail today. With Christmas so close now I'm having to decide which of my holiday stamps will fulfill their stampy destiny this year and which ones will have to wait a bit longer. It's always tough to narrow down the contenders but this sweet owl called Egg Nog from Purple Onion Designs made the cut. I'm always a sucker for characters holding lights or lanterns, I love the challenge of coloring that illumination. I envisioned him trekking across a moonlit meadow and then I got the Birch Tree Background and Mountains Background stamps to really elevate my original idea and add so much more to the feel of the scene. The sentiment is from the Typed Christmas set from Hello Bluebird and was just what I needed to finish off this card.

Alrighty, busy day at work to prepare for... everyone wants their dogs looking good for Christmas, LOL! Have a good one!

Christmas cheer...

Hello friends!

I'm up on the Bellarific Blog with my last Scenic Saturday post of 2019 and of course I'm going out with a Christmas card. Rather than the traditional red and green color scheme I went with a heavenly blue and gold for this choir of little angels. All three of these cuties are actually the same Tiny Townie Annie the Angel stamp, I just masked them in close together then chose dark hair colors for the second and third angels and proceeded to color in curls on one and longer locks on the other. Such a simple thing and it makes them each look so unique, I love it when I can get more versatility out of a stamp like that. Because these three take up most of the room on my card front I sketched in a simple stage for them to stand on and a slightly droopy nativity play backdrop that quickly conveys that these three friends are performing in the annual Christmas pageant. I found the perfect sentiment in the Festive Gnome sentiment set and it lead me to adding little singing mouths to each of the angels because it's those kinds of details all coming together that really make me happy with a finished card.

Bring on the cozy...

TGIF my friends!

I've got another Three Room Studio card to share today and this time around I've inked up the Let's Hygge set. To be honest, I had no idea what hygge meant but luckily Sandy included the definition in her store, Hygge (hoo'-gah) is a Danish concept, a feeling, a lifestyle of coziness and contentment. Well I don't know about you but I can certainly get on board with that. Give me a comfy chair and a warm blanket on a cold and snowy night and I'm a very happy girl. This gal definitely seems quite cozy and comfy in her easy chair, sipping on her favorite warm beverage. I grabbed this fireplace stamp from Hero Arts again to help set the scene and it sure does the trick in a quick and easy way.

Alrighty, well we just got our first big snowfall of the season overnight so I should go get myself prepared to shovel myself out before heading to work. Have a good one and stay warm out there!

The most wonderful time of the year...

Olo!

I've got more Christmas fun to share today. This cute little Skipping Santa from Mo's Digital Pencil has skipped right out of that chimney and is heading back to his sleigh, just to do it all again at the next house. I love the movement and energy of this happy Santa and I couldn't wait to give him a rooftop scene to live in. So I grabbed this chimney stamp from the Hello Bluebird Rooftop Reindeer set and did a bit of a stamp mash up to put it all together. The playful sentiment is from the Retro Holiday Greetings set at Ellen Hutson and I thought it suited this happy guy to a T. :)

Toodles!

A time for making memories...

Hey there!

I'm continuing the countdown to Christmas with another card for 7 Kids. This time I combined two of the newest Dreamerland stamps, Let's Celebrate and Let's Enjoy, to create this festive scene. I think it looks like they are all working together to get ready for the big Christmas Eve party, wrapping presents and hanging decorations. I'll admit that the floor kinda got away from me a bit. My E44 and E49 ended up being super sticky and I couldn't blend it out nice and smooth but at that point everything else was all colored so I didn't want to chuck all that work. So I powered through as it is just a floor after all. Now I just have to make sure I go clean my markers before attempting the next card, LOL!

Ok, have a good one... I'm heading to town soon so let's hope the snow holds off 'til tonight. :)
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink, Bazzill and Catherine Pooler

Peace, love and eggnog...

Hello, hello!

I didn't have much time for coloring and creating yesterday so I'm sharing this card that I made during one of the November Vault release Lives at 7 Kids. I paired up Midnight's Cookies with the Very Merrwee Mrs. Claus for a festive North Pole kitchen scene. It's always so much fun taking everyone's ideas and suggestions and watching where they lead the scene. Originally I had started coloring in a window behind her but then it was suggested that I put a chalk board behind her instead so we quickly shifted gears and I love how it turned out!
Alrighty, well if you haven't noticed yet past Vault releases are showing back up in the store. Because we are changing the format of Sweet November releases in the new year all of the Vault releases will now be permanent fixtures in the store... woohoo!

Time for me to scoot, later gators!

Good tidings of great joy...

Good morning!

I've got a quick little Christmas card to share with you today. I was finally able to ink up the darling Angel Nevaeh from Whimsy Stamps and turn her into a special Christmas card for my Grandma. It's funny because I didn't notice it when I bought her but looking at her name now it spells heaven backwards... someone was being quite clever with their naming of her. While there have been many fantastic stamp collections that I've loved at Whimsy over the years, I have to say that the range if fairies and angels by Marina Fedotova have been my absolute favorites. I was sad when they stopped releasing new images from her last year and I'm even sadder to report that it looks like they have all been retired out of the store so I don't have any stamp to link back to. It makes me very glad that I got the stamps I did but there where still so many of her images that I had hoped we would see Whimsy release as stamps. Perhaps if I wish upon a Christmas star we may see a return of these adorable images in the future... a girl can hope!
Anywho, I paired Nevaeh with a sentiment from the Away in a Manger set from Hello Bluebird and colored her floating above a bank of clouds in front of a glowing moon. I kept most of the card, light and bright with just that touch of dark indigo night sky for contrast. Plenty of sparkle and shine was added to her gown and the stars and I also used the Sakura stardust glitter pen to add a halo above her head. I can't wait to give this one to Gram, I think she will love it. :)

Have a good one my friends!

Season to sparkle...

Hello, hello!

I'm guesting today at Three Room Studio to help showcase the new winter release that is available now in the Three Room Studio store. There are three fantastic sets, Skate Sleep Repeat, Let's Hygge and Welcome Winter, each one perfect in its own way for these cold winter months. For my first card I just had to ink up the joyful skater from the Skate Sleep Repeat set. Once again I have Crissy Armstrong to thank for the background inspiration, this time it was her awesome snow covered mountains that I wanted to have a go at. I love how they set the scene of Christmas in a snowy mountain village for this pretty little skater. The sentiment is also from the Skate Sleep Repeat set though it is curved to fit in a wreath image. So I snipped the stamp itself between the words allowing me to bend the stamp into  a straight line. Then I grabbed some festive sequins to add a bit more sparkle to the card and I was done. :)

Have a great weekend everybody!

Merry Christmas...

Hi friends!

It's Friday the 13th and that means it is the last day to take advantage of the big 25% OFF holiday sale at Purple Onion Designs. There is no code needed as all of the prices have already been adjusted so all you have to do is fill that cart full of some super cute Christmas gifts for yourself, LOL! I had a lot of fun pairing Santa and Laurel the reindeer from the Sweetest Season collection with a bunch of goodies from the Mistletoe Farm collection to create a special North Pole scene on my card today. I wanted it to look like Santa has come to visit little Laurel in the reindeer barn and he has brought her some crunchy oats to munch on. There was a lot of masking to get the hay bale, lantern, feed bucket and wood sign all in place before I finally stamped on the barn door background. But all that planning was worth it because I love how sweet and cozy Santa keeps his reindeer because of course they would be completely pampered. :)

Ok, be sure to head on over to Purple Onion Designs and fall in love with all the delightful stamps they offer before the great deals end tomorrow!

Wrapping up the Mystery Box blog hop!

This week we have a special release we are showcasing at The Greeting Farm! Twice this year, we released Mystery Boxes. Both of the boxes contained 5 new stamps, along with stickers and enamel pins and a few other extra goodies. We had a lot of amazing feedback, but we also had many who missed out on the special boxes.

Our awesome customers asked and pleaded for the stamps to be released individually at a later time. Well, we are happy to announce that those pleas were heard, and this month is your chance to grab these exclusive cuties!! All 10 Mystery Box stamps will be released in The Greeting Farm Store at 12am EST on December 15th!!

To celebrate this fabulous release, we are doing something a little different. We are having 5 days of BLOG HOPS showcasing two stamps on each day. In addition, we will be picking 5 WINNERS total...one from each day of comments! Each person picked will win the two sets featured on the day they won. All winners will be announced on the December 15th New Release Blog Post so you will know what you won on the day the release goes live.

Comment daily on each DT post linked below then go back to the TGF post letting us know you completed the hop. On Sunday, one winner from each day of comments will be selected to win the two stamp sets featured on that specific day.

First up we have the new You're a Gem set. This spunky unicorn comes with the sentiment and two gems. But to really help play up the whole gem theme I added even more jewels from the older Precious set. Now she has a whole treasure trove to look after.
And finally we have the Small Surprises set that includes a bunch of drinks and cakes with quirky little critters hiding inside them. For my card I paired up the three summer time drinks and colored them in fun, fruity colors that matched this great fruit themed paper that I found in my stash.

Well we hope you have enjoyed this week long hop as much as we have. All five winners will be announced Sunday on The Greeting Farm blog when the entire release goes live. :)

Mystery Box Blog Hop day 4!

The first of the two sets we are showcasing today is Best Day Anya. This adorable addition to the Anya range of stamps is perfect for any Disney fans in your life. She's enjoying a trip to the Magic Kingdom and is ready to spread that fun and cheer on all the cards you create with her.
We also have the new Aloha Paradise set to share today and I really wanted to use a bunch of the beachy friends to create an island holiday card inspired by the classic Mele Kalikimaka song. I stamped the plumeria flowers that are included in the set into the bottom corners of the card then masked them off so it looks like we are peeking through the foliage down at the Christmas party going on at the beach. I borrowed the gifts from the Little Elves set that was recently released and I think they pull this party together quite nicely. :)
