From our family to yours...

Hi friends!

The Greeting Farm is kicking off the month of November with a special digi release that is available now! We are officially in that season of Christmas card making and these three new digi sets are perfect for creating all sorts of fun and festive holiday scenes. There is the Christmas Day set, Christmas Sayings and Sit 1 set and as always not only do they work great together but they mix and match seamlessly with many of the past digi releases as well.

For my card today I let one of the new Christmas Sayings inspire this sweet family portrait. Mom and son are from the new Sit 1 set while Book Ian is the dad. The decorative bowl on the mantle and rug are both from the Build-a-Living Room set while their sleepy pug is from the Bay Window set. They are all posing for their annual Christmas card photo in matching Christmas pajamas. I'm tellin' ya, these are so much fun to play and create with, I've already got so many more ideas I want to try! :)

Happy Halloween!

 Trick or treat!

Halloween is finally here. The day filled with treats and hopefully not too many tricks. For my last spooky cute card of the year I chose to color up Little Witch Wendolyn from Mo's Digital Pencil. I have had her printed out and sitting on my desk for a couple months now so I wasn't going to make her wait any longer. Mo actually has a lot of amazingly cute witches and I've colored my share in the past. What really drew me to this particular witchy poo was the addition of the be-spelled broom walking right beside her. I mean how great is it to imagine little Wendolyn learning all her magic spells with her BFF broom right there to assist? It makes me smile just imagining it. :)

Have fun out there today and I hope it is spooktacular!

Delivering a little holiday cheer...

TGIF!

And let me tell you, it's a very good Friday indeed because the newest holiday collection by Stacey Yacula has just released at Purple Onion Designs! This year's collection is called The Sweetest Little Town and it includes eleven character images, nine background builders and a wonderful set of coordinating sentiments. As always Purple Onion gives you the freedom to order from these collections a la carte, which is awesome but if you are someone who 'suffers' from Full Set Syndrome like myself then now is the time to take advantage of the limited time discount of 30% OFF when you order the complete Sweetest Little Town collection. This promotion will only be available until Sunday, November 15th so if you are thinking about treating yourself to some new rubber don't wait too long. ;)

For my first card out I thought it would be nice to pay tribute to all our amazing postal workers out there, doing their darnedest to get our holiday packages and cards to their destinations as quick as they can. So I stamped and masked Woodstock, the fox, with the Mailbox and a mirror flipped Wallace, the penguin. In the distance I added the Gazebo and a Street Light to really help set this winter scene. Woodstock looks quite pleased with having the opportunity to hand deliver his happy mail right to the friendly mail carrier entrusted to send it on its way. :)

Well have fun checking out all of the lovely new stamps and I will see you back here tomorrow with my final Halloween card of 2020.

Give thanks...

Hello again!

The Sweet November Stamps October newsletter just went out to our subscribers recapping what's been going on this month. After the fun and festivities of World Card Making Day October got a lot busier for me in my real life job, which ended up in a quieter month for releases. Luckily for me, my sister has been working behind the scenes to get past Christmas digis added to the store and they can all be found here. New Christmas digis and a couple of winter themed clear stamp sets will be coming in November, I promise. :)

For this month's newsletter subscriber freebie we've created a new little cutie in the same chibi style of the WCMD Cutie which proved to be quite popular. She is called Thankful Cutie and she has a banner and a couple different sentiments that you can pair with her to make Thanksgiving cards or more generic thank you cards. And that's not all... we've also added a boy version of the Thankful Cutie as well. If you missed out on subscribing to this month's newsletter, no worries, these digis can always be purchased in the store as well.

I will be coloring one of these Cuties Live today on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page at 11am PST. Hope to see you there!

Stay crafty my friends!

So cute, it's scary...

 Hi friends!

The Greeting Farm is a sponsor and participant in this year's Cat Lover's blog hop and a bunch of us on the team made cards for it today. Now if you would like a chance to play along and hop to win prizes you will need to head over to the TGF blog for the official post. I just wanted to share my card here on the ol' blog as well. Because I'm still in Halloween mode I decided to do a mash up between the Cute Kitties set and builder elements from the Spellbinding kit to create this playful scene. Now this little kitten is being as helpful as he can be in his witch's spell room... just don't spill that potion kitty! ;)

Have fun hopping and good luck!

Casting you a happy day...

Olo!

I began this month with a card featuring an awesome digi from the Las Cajitas de Elvi etsy shop and now I've got another one to help wrap up my Halloween cards for 2020. Hermione here was too cool to resist and I knew she would be a blast to color up. The action and energy in her pose already told most of the story, I just had to take it a step further with the light and magic that I added at the end of her wand. I think that is part of the reason why I love making Halloween cards so much, they provide ample opportunities for practicing different and challenging light sources with your coloring. Because I wanted there to be high contrast and lots of drama I kept the rest of the background a simple dark void which is quite effective at helping to pull all of the focus onto this amazing young wizard. ;)

If you haven't yet gone over and checked out Las Cajitas de Elvi on etsy I highly recommend that you do. So many amazing digis both for the holidays and for fans of pop culture.

Toodles!

Nothing is scary...

Hi there!

For my Halloween card today I paired up a handful of the older trick or treating critters from Purple Onion Designs with one of the sentiments that comes with the new Winslow and Rusty Halloween Friends stamp. Sweet Trouble the bat in her witch hat, Little Boo whom I colored into a black bird, Scary the masked rabbit and Spook the owl looking quite dapper in his Dracula cape have all ventured out on Halloween night. Even as they make their way through the eerie forest these friends are not afraid because they have each other. :)

Alright, time to go decide who to ink up for tomorrow's card... decisions, decisions! ;)

Smell my feet...

Good morning!

This is it, the final week before Halloween. With so few days left it has been difficult narrowing down which Halloween stamps will get inked up this year and which ones will have to wait. These Snarky Cat Halloween stamps from Tim Holtz easily made the cut, probably because they are so different from what I'm usually drawn to. Seriously, I can't say that I own many Tim Holtz stamps but these crazy bug-eyed kitties totally spoke to me and I had to have them. The loose, sketchy line work of the images is really cool looking. Normally, I'm not a fan of having so much of a stamp already pre-shaded like that but because I knew I would be coloring them as black cats it kinda worked to my advantage. I took a cue from my own amber eyed black cats and really let those bright eyes 'pop' against all that black fur. There is just something about those darling, derpy expressions that I really wanted to highlight. I can just imagine these two up on a shelf in the ol' witch's cottage, knocking potion bottles over and getting into all sorts of trouble only to have the witch finally threaten to turn them into cockroaches or something... LOL!

Hello...

Hello again!

I'm popping in real quick today to let you know that the 12th and final Mertot in that digi series has just been added to the Sweet November Stamps shop. Little October Mertot doesn't have a care in the world as she plays peek-a-boo behind her fin. Even though there is nothing spooky about this sweetie she does represent the spookiest month so I had fun coloring her into a traditional Halloween color combo. I really wanted it to look like she is resting atop a bed of swaying anemones and ended up doodling in an almost zentangle like background using my purple Copics. I really think it works especially once I brushed on some Catherine Pooler juniper mist ink all around the edges of the scene to give it a soft, hazy frame. :)

Also, be on the look out for the October newsletter from Sweet November Stamps this coming Thursday. As always there will be a code for subscribers to grab a brand new digi for FREE! So if you haven't signed up for it yet head on over to the Sweet November home page, scroll to the very bottom of the page and sign up... easy! I will also be coloring Live that day on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page at 11am PST. Hope to see you there!

Stay crafty my friends!
