I eely love you...

Hey there!

So back in 2018 I got the mermaid set from Stamp Anniething and stamped them all up at that time. Not all of the images actually got colored though, including this cute Kraken, so she's been sitting on my desk just waiting all this time to get on a card. I finally grabbed her yesterday and realized that I had originally inked her up using desert sand ink for no-line coloring. It's been quite a while since I've no-lined a character so I gotta admit, I hesitated just a bit. Ultimately I buckled down and just went for it. It was a bit nerve wracking but I'm glad I did it because I think she turned out quite nicely. I then paired The Kraken with the heart shaped eel and sentiment from the Sweet November Merwees #1 set to finish off the scene with a fun nod to Ursula and her eels in the Little Mermaid cartoon. I think this fun pair are much friendlier though.  ;)

Alrighty, thanks for swimming by today. Have a good one!

More bubbles than troubles...

Hello again!

I've got two more cards to share from this past weekend's Mermazing MerMay celebrations at Sweet November Stamps. These two are from my Sunday Lives featuring cuties from both the Mermaid Hair and pirate mermaid Calico sets. Don't forget that the special is still going on in the store...  spend $100 or more and you will get the 4x6 Merwees #2 set absolutely FREE (while supplies last) and we now have FREE SHIPPING on all domestic orders over $75 and $15 flat rate shipping for all international orders over $75, making this a great time to splurge a little. ;)

During the morning Live I colored up the second long haired cutie from the Mermaid Hair set. I wanted to create a mini slimline card where she has swam up to the surface so you can see land above and water below. To help with that I grabbed the Dock on the Bay set and stamped the large deserted island behind the little mer after masking her off first. A couple extra sea critters from the Mermees #3 set and Merwees #2 set are joining our adventurous mermaid on her journey to the surface. The sentiment was borrowed from the small Merwee Finley set that came out last year. I did end up adding some light pinks to the fin of her tail after the video was over, to make it look like we can see her hair through it.

In the afternoon I colored up this happy little pirate mermaid named Calico. It looks like she has stumbled upon a sunken treasure chest and I kinda think it has something to do with her lucky rainbow tail we colored on her, LOL! Both the treasure chest and the skull are from the Simple Room Pirate Add On set while the sentiment and bubbles are from the Mermaid Hair set. I fell in love with this sentiment for her but since we hadn't colored on any bubbles during the Live I did end up adding some after the fact, filling them with glossy accents for a nice, shiny look.

Toodles!

Hope your day is all sunshine and seashells...

Good morning!

As you know, Sweet November Stamps was celebrating the Mermazing MerMay release this past weekend, in fact the winners from the Instahop and Faye and Caitlin's Youtube giveaways will be announced later today. My part in the celebration was doing two Live coloring videos both Saturday and Sunday. The two I am sharing today are from the Saturday Lives featuring cuties from both the Sunshine and Seashells and Mermees #3 sets.  Oh, and the special is still going on in the store...  spend $100 or more and you will get the 4x6 Merwees #2 set absolutely FREE (while supplies last) and we know have FREE SHIPPING on all domestic orders over $75 and $15 flat rate shipping for all international orders over $75, making this a great time to splurge a little. ;)

So during the morning Live I colored up another one of the three little mermaids included in the Sunshine and Seashells set. She is resting comfortably against a bed of sea anemone conversing with the cute jellyfish that comes with Marilla. Rays of sunshine are filtering through the water hinting at the fun sentiment that I paired with her.

In the afternoon I colored up this beauty from the Mermees #3 set. Both the sea turtle and the kelp rock are also included in that set while the larger rock comes with Aquata and the crab is part of the Mermees #2 set. Because a couple of the markers I used for my skin blend ended up being a bit tacky and didn't allow for a smooth finished look I decided to color these under the sea friends into a cavern that would help explain away the more defined lines due to the light filtering in from the mouth of the cave... at least that's the story I'm sticking with! LOL

Ok, that's it from me today. Hope your week is off to a great start!
