Have a warm and cozy Christmas...

TGI... Black Friday! LOL

Now that we have all made it through that Thanksgiving feast it's time to start hunting down all of the great Black Friday deals that are happening. And I'm super excited to be guesting for Purple Onion Designs just in time for their annual 2 week long holiday sale! I'm a HUGE fan of their Stacey Yacula range of stamps and with the 25% OFF sale, now is the time to add a few more cuties to my collection. There is no code needed as all of the prices have already been adjusted in the store. As much as I love all the little critters, what really makes my scene building heart skip a beat is all of the amazing backgrounds and accessories that also come in each release. They really get my creative juices overflowing with all sorts of different scenarios to put together, especially when you start mixing and matching between old and new releases. Take this card for example, as soon as I saw the new Cabin Background from the recent Pine Cone Trail release, I knew it would make the perfect home for these two sleepy pals. Buttons, the kitty, is from the Mistletoe Farm release while Sugarplum, milk and cookies and the Door Decor #1 set are from the Twas the Night Before Christmas release... and they all work seamlessly together! I can't even begin to tell you the happiness this brings me, LOL! In fact I got so carried away with the scene building on this one that I forgot to leave room for a sentiment. So this is one of the very few cards of mine that the sentiment is on the inside and it says, Have a Warm and Cozy Christmas, which I thought summed this up perfectly. :)

So have fun shopping today and taking advantage of all the great deals. I'll be busy back at work so please leave a few stamps for me will ya?!  ;)

The heart that gives...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Whether you are gathering around a Thanksgiving feast with family and friends or just enjoying another Thursday I wanted to take a minute to wish everyone a very wonderful day. I am thankful for many things including this amazing card making community that I feel blessed to get to be a part of. ♥

To help share my gratitude I inked up the super sweet critters from the Hello Bluebird Fall Banner Buddies set. HB just always has the cutest little animals around and I love how they interact with each other as you build scenes with them. I practiced doing another faux watercolor background on this card and I gotta say, I'm getting kind of addicted to them, LOL! Once everything was all colored in I masked the center scene off and used the large Old Oak background stamp to add a subtle wood grain to the rest of the card. Love it!

Alrighty friends, gobble 'til you wobble and have fun taking advantage of all those Black Friday sales out there!

Counting down to Christmas...

Hello again!

Even as I'm getting ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow I've got another Christmas card to share today. This adorable little guy is from the newest Dreamerland release and the stamp is called, Time to Dress Up the Christmas Tree. I really wanted to have him decorating that tree in front of a glowing fireplace and I just got a cool fireplace stamp in the latest Hero Arts My Monthly Kit... talk about perfect timing. I did alter it a bit by adding the stockings from the Dreamerland Mix and Match Counting Down to Christmas set as well as masking out space for a mantle and greenery... oh and I also flipped the stamp upside down to extend the stonework all the way to the top of the card. I used a lot of reds and greens for the majority of the scene but I made sure to give our little decorator a pop of blue in his pj's so that he quickly catches the viewer's eye.

Ok, I've gotta go get started on a pecan pie but if you haven't seen yet, the Black Friday sale has already begun at 7 Kids just use the code BLACKFRIDAY30 at check out for 30% OFF your order excluding new arrivals and digital stamps! :)

Believe in the magic of Christmas...

Hey there!

This is the last card I have left to share from the Stamping Bella holiday release and how can you go wrong with a rolly poly polar bear bundled up in a scarf? This image is called Polar Bear Wishing Upon a Star and I love the peacefulness of this moment as he stares up into the night sky at the Christmas star. I tried to enhance that sense of calm and quiet with the scene I colored around him in various shades of blue. The sentiment is kinda hard to read in this photo because of the sparkle I added to it but in person it looks much better. It is actually from the Yeti sentiment set and I just wiped away the last line before stamping so it would work with a non Yeti image.
Now, if you've got a wish list of stamps you've been wanting to get from Stamping Bella a little birdie told me that you will want to put an order together starting Thursday because that is when the entire store will be 25% OFF just in time for Black Friday! The sale runs all weekend long and no code is necessary as all prices will already be adjusted. You won't want to miss taking advantage of that!

Toodles!

Naughty or Nice...

Good morning!

Things continue to be busy. Busy at work, busy getting ready for Thanksgiving and busy preparing for the next Sweet November release on December 1st. So it should be no surprise that I am still pulling from cards that I've colored up earlier but haven't posted here yet. This particular card was colored Live during the most recent SN Vault release at 7 Kids and I combined the mischievous kitty from Midnight's Gift with Noe Elf to create this cute "caught in the act" holiday scene. We had a lot of fun choosing non-traditional Christmas colors and I love how rich these jewel tones look together. My sister got me some new stamps for my birthday last week and I was able to use one of the new sentiments to pull this card all together. Naughty or nice? Hmmmm... isn't that the age old dilemma right there? LOL!

Later gators!

Happy Thanksgiving...

Hey there!

Are you ready for another Scenic Saturday card over on the Bellarific blog? Next week many of us will be celebrating Thanksgiving here in the States so I figured it was the perfect time to ink up the super sweet Teeny Tiny Townie with a Pie. Because in my opinion, nothing goes more hand in hand with Thanksgiving than the pie. Personally I'm more of a pecan pie girl but it looks like Teeny Tiny has a fondness for apple, LOL! Thanksgiving is also a time to be mindful of all that we have to be thankful for and I have to say, our amazing stamping and card making community is one of those things I am very grateful for. The constant flow of creativity, sharing and inspiration is a beautiful thing to be a part of. In fact, the idea for this watercolor wash looking background was inspired by a coloring that I recently saw the super talented Alberto Gava post on Instagram. He inspired me to play with that idea in a fall colored palette and I love the end results. The technique is actually very easy, I simply grabbed a circle die to trace an outline around Teeny Tiny using very light Copic colors, B0000 up in the sky area and YR30 down below. Once I had the sky and ground all filled in with those base colors I simply started to sketch out past the circle line here and there in a random, splotchy pattern. Then I just continued to do the same with slightly darker colors to build up some more depth and layers. I really love how this technique frames Teeny Tiny Townie with a Pie and gives her a colorful little world to live in without overwhelming her. To finish off this clean and simple design I added the Happy Thanksgiving sentiment from the Fall Sentiment set with a sprinkling of Nuvo drops to tie in with the splotchy, painterly look of the rest of the card.

Happy Thanksgiving and stay crafty my friends!

Joyful Greetings...

TGIF!

A big thank you to everyone for all of the lovely birthday wishes yesterday. I had a wonderfully low key day made quite special by family and friends, it was the perfect way to start another trip around the sun.  :)

Because I didn't get a lot of crafting in yesterday I'm sharing this card that I colored up Live during the Sweet November release at the beginning of the month. For this one I paired Mrs. Claus with Gingy and his rolling pin from the October Vault release. One of the funnest things about these PNG digital images is the way you can manipulate their size and positioning to combine them into various scenes. Like Gingy there... I made him super tiny so that he and the rolling pin would fit in Mrs. Claus' hands. Then we just decided to color them in her cheery North Pole kitchen and I later finished off the card by adding the sentiment right over top.

Well friends, it's back to work for me today... have a good one!

Merriest Wishes...

Olo!

It's my day to post at 7 Kids and since the holiday release from Hello Bluebird is now available in the store I couldn't wait to play with the First Snow set once again. I LOVE the little reindeer making snow angels and couldn't wait to tackle a bird's eye view type of scene with him. Since I really wanted him to have a buddy I grabbed the other reindeer in the set, who is technically standing, and just colored the snow angel lines around him too. It's a simple addition but effective because just like that I've got two reindeer playing their reindeer games together in the snow. I also added some hats from a couple older HB sets for a bit of added color and cuteness. Then to really sell the whole bird's eye view perspective I colored in some large snow covered pine branches in the foreground. These were completely inspired by the amazing miss Crissy Armstrong and her fabulous snowman card that she shared a few days ago. I've still got a lot of practice to do to get mine looking as good as Crissy's but I so appreciate the inspiration and challenge that she provided. Thanks Crissy!

Alrighty, I've got a lot on my to-do list and a birthday to celebrate today... have a good one!

Holiday Spirit...

Hello, hello!

I found another card left over from the Stamping Bella holiday release that hadn't made it up on the blog yet. This determined little guy is part of the Penguins Bearing Gifts trio and from the look of things he isn't going to let a little thing like a winter storm deter him from delivering this gift. I wanted to keep this one clean and simple so I did a simple wash of Copic color swooshing behind the penguin letting the different hues create a sense of movement to the overall effect. Then I just grabbed my handy dandy white Sharpie and added a flurry of snow all around. I also ended up die cutting a few larger snowflakes in white to subtly dress up the clean design as well. The sentiment is part of the Festive Gnome sentiment set and I think it describes this little penguin perfectly. :)

Alrighty, gotta run. I'll catch ya in 24!

Falala...

Hey there!

I've hit that extra busy time of the month where I'm working on a lot of things for upcoming releases and events  behind the scenes. Luckily for this ol' blog I've got plenty of cards from past releases still waiting to be posted. This one is actually from this month's Greeting Farm release that just hit the stores on the 15th. It features the third stylish cutie from the Miss Anya Darling set that I gave a Christmas twist. By simply pairing her with an ornament stamp from the retired Winter is Here set this Miss Anya is ready for a hoppin' tree trimming party. I also enjoyed taking a break from the scene coloring with this set and went back to my card making roots, complete with pretty papers and embellishments. I gotta say that I really dig the retro vibe of this fun Christmas card. :)

Got Joy Holiday Card Series...

Good morning!

Today I’m joining the Got Joy Creations Holiday Series for 2019 over on Dana's blog.  You'll want to be sure you follow this series over the next few weeks for amazing holiday inspiration from all of the talented card artists Dana has invited to join her. There will be discount codes and giveaways that you will need to leave comments on each post here in order to qualify to win. Dana will also be sharing cards and tutorials and I know for a fact she will have a few surprises to share with you too!
For my card today I chose a mix of old and new stamps from Purple Onion Designs to tell the story of little Red, the lumberjack beaver, and his robin pal, Silver, going in search of the perfect Christmas tree. On many of my cards I enjoy the challenge of coloring in backgrounds from scratch but when awesome background stamps like the new Winter Trail are available it makes the whole process quicker and easier, who doesn't love that? So I stamped the bundled up critters first, masked them both off using removable post it tape, then stamped the large background right over top of them. Once the tape it peeled away they now look like they are residing within the scene. To complete my vision of these cute holiday revelers I still ended up free handing in the felled Christmas tree but I think it fits in pretty seamlessly with the rest of the stamped images. All Red and Silver have to do now is figure out how to get that darn tree back up the hill, LOL!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Time for the November Vault release!

Hello and welcome to this month's Sweet November Vault release. This is actually the last Vault release for 2019 as we will be taking December off since the middle of December gets crazy busy with all the usual holiday hoopla. So as a bit of a compromise we have brought back two separate sets of updated vintage SN images that will be available in the 7 Kids store through the end of this month. This weekend only we have bundle deals on each set that save you a bit of money if you've gotta have 'em all. Once December hits, back in the Vault they will go.

In 2013 Midnight, the Christmas Kitty set of rubber stamps was released introducing us to Mrs. Claus' new furry friend that she got to keep her company during Santa's busy day away. It may seem strange to name a snow white kitten Midnight, but being at the top of the world they see their share of midnight sunshine and Mrs. Claus has always had a sense of humor. And Midnight is quite mischievous, keeping Mrs. Claus and all those elves on their toes. They can't forget to hang the fragile glass ornaments higher on the trees otherwise Midnight is right there to bat and swat at the entertaining baubles until they fall and break. Oh and don't' even think about leaving wrapped packages out before Christmas eve because Midnight will waste no time tearing into those pretty papers just to play with the ribbons and hide inside the boxes. When she works up an appetite, Midnight will sneak into the kitchen looking for Santa's plate of cookies and glass of milk to pilfer. She may try to be careful but you just know that that milk will be all over the table before you can bat an eye. And when she finally gets a bit sleepy, Midnight heads into the bedroom but it isn't the bed she is looking for... nope, only one of Santa's extra hats will do for her to curl up and cat nap on. Despite all the trouble she gets into everyone in the workshop loves and adores this little Christmas kitty.

This trio of Angel Babies originally released as digital stamps all the way back in 2009. Looking at them now I can totally see they were a precursor to the Fairwees that would eventually join the SN family of characters. These sweet little cherubs delight in serenading everyone with their Christmas carols. Their heavenly voices spreading peace and goodwill to all that hear them.

Alrighty then, as usual we will be celebrating the release in the 7 Kids Customers Create facebook group all day today with chances to win free digis. I will also be doing Live coloring videos at 11am and 3pm PST so I hope to see you there!

Need a hand...

Hey there!

It's the third and final day of November previews at The Greeting Farm and we are wrapping things up with a brand new Cheeky called, Cheeky Handy. This gal knows how to take care of things and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. She comes with the sentiment I used here and the toolbox, wrench and hammer which are all separate accessories. I masked the toolbox and wrench into her hands so I could create this scene showing her in all her do-it-yourself glory... uh oh I hope she can get that pipe fixed quickly!  ;)

Ok, time to head on over to the TGF blog for even more Cheeky Handy goodness from my fellow Farmers. And don't forget that the entire release will be available for purchase tomorrow, as well as a chance to win all of the November stamp sets by simply participating in the blog hop!

So grateful for you...

Hello!

Welcome back to day two of the November Greeting Farm release. This month we are introducing three new clear sets with a little something for everyone. Even though The Greeting Farm is primarily known for its super cute characters, today we are introducing am elegant floral set called, Grateful For You. The lovely sprig of wild flowers in this set inspired me to totally step outside of my coloring comfort zone and leave my beloved Copics untouched. Instead I dusted off my old set of Staedtler Aquarell watercolor pencils from my college days and played with the water pooling technique. I thought it would be pretty to keep the overall look very loose and 'purposefully messy' for lack of a better term, LOL! And I went with fall inspired colors and a mix of gold accents throughout the design to jazz the whole thing up just a bit.   :)

Now be sure to head on over to the TGF blog to see the gorgeous cards from my fellow Farmers using Grateful For You. Then check back here tomorrow for day three of previews. :)

Merry Christmas...

Hi friends!

It's day one of the Greeting Farm's November release and we are introducing the first of three new clear sets. If you're a fan of the Miss Anyas then you will be excited to see the new Miss Anya Darling set! These three fabulous gals are all decked out in pretty party dresses making them quite versatile for card making throughout the year. Because I am currently in the throws of Christmas card making I challenged myself to make these Anyas work as Christmas party goers. So for my card today I paired this stylish gal with a candy cane from the older Pop Out Xmas set and by masking it into her hand then coloring her stylish ensemble in matching colors I think she looks quite festive. Miss Anya Darling will be available for purchase on the 15th along with the other new stamps.

Now hop on over to the TGF blog to see all the darling cards from my fellow Farmers, plus an extra one from me, using the new Miss Anya Darling set. Then check back tomorrow for day two of previews. :)

Merry Everything...

Good morning!

Just a quick pop in to share this fun card that I made for a card exchange I had signed up for last month. My exchange partner lives in Israel so I wanted to steer clear of traditional holiday colors and images yet still capture the joy of the season. This darling pair of penguins from the CC Designs Christmas Together set was just the stamp I was looking for. Sure there is a little sprig of holly up on that chick's cap but by keeping my color scheme very non-traditional I think these two will make anyone smile no matter what holiday they are celebrating. I mean come on, they are so freakin' adorable... I just want to squeeze one them! LOL

Alrighty, gotta run. See ya back here at midnight EST with day 1 of TGF previews!

Make it Merry...

Hey there friends!

Today I'm sharing my last official card as a guest designer for Hello Bluebird. I just want to take a sec and thank all of the lovely ladies over there for inviting me to join them, this was a truly amazing release and I was proud to be a part of it! For my final card I thought it would be a fun change up from my usual card making style of stamping and masking to instead use the coordinating dies that are available for each set and manually build my scene. This was the perfect opportunity for it since I really wanted to use the cool Treehouse scene die as well. So I grabbed the Merry Mice set and planned out which cutie would be doing what on this holiday card. I'll admit that I'm so used to building my scene from the foreground to the background that it took some adjusting to reverse my process and build from the back forward. But I'm super happy with how it turned out and considering that front door really opens this will probably be the most interactive card I ever make, LOL! I gotta say, it's nice to get out of my box once in a while and stretch my creative muscles a bit but to be honest... I'm totally itchin' to see what kind of scene I can stamp and mask these mice into next time. ;)

Enjoy your Sunday!
