I washed up like this...

Hey friends!

Did you get your Sweet November Stamps newsletter last night? If so, then I hope you've grabbed little Skipper here and are getting ready for all of the MerMay fun happening next month. There will be coloring challenges running both in our Friends of Sweet November Stamps Facebook Group as well as on Instagram, each one promising a $50 gift certificate to a randomly selected participant and two separate, yet coordinating, exclusive mermaid digis for all participants that complete the challenges. So there is a lot to get excited for! I colored Skipper yesterday during my morning Live as a sneak peek of the April SN newsletter freebie. I wasn't at the top of my game due to this darn cold I've been fighting all week but if you can get past my froggy voice and a few coughing fits, we did create a pretty cool beach scene if I do say so myself. If you would like to watch the replay just head on over to my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page and check it out.  :)

Just one more sleep to MerMay... se ya on the 1st!

Dive deep...

Hi friends!

With only two days until MerMay is upon us I decided to dive in early with this weekend's review at Sweet November Stamps. This time around I scrolled through the mermaid digi section in the store and found the cute Pirate Treasures Silver calling to me with her siren song. To help set the scene, I paired her with the treasure chest sea floor image from the digital Pirate Background Builder set. I also used the tiny school of fish stamp from the Mermaid Hair clear stamp set to add the sense of movement to the water behind Silver. The sentiment is actually a sneak peek of one of the new, soon to be released MerMay clear stamps, coming to the shop on May 20th. If you are interested in watching this card come together you can check out the short Reel on my Instagram feed or head over to the Sweet November Stamps Youtube channel for a longer speed coloring.  I will be coloring Live this morning over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page so I hope you can join me for a sneak peek of tonight's SN Newsletter freebie at 11am PST!  ;)

More bubbles than troubles...

Hey, hey!

When I sat down to create yesterday I was in the mood for a critter card so I went to my binder of Purple Onion Designs stamps and found this cutie. This happy little bear cub is Jackson and Bubbles and I paired him with a handful of POD background builder stamps to create a perfect spring afternoon for him to live in. Off in the distance the Countryside Horizon is making another appearance and I added the Toadstool Cluster down in front with the blanket from the Picnic set beneath Jackson's feet. I can remember that as a kid my siblings and I would get little bottles of bubbles in our Easter baskets each year, which is probably why I associate bubbles with springtime activities to this day. So this is another case of fond memories influencing fun cards in the here and now.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Hey you...

Hello fellow Farmers!

I'm up on the TGF blog with this card where I've finally made it through all of the stamps in the original Anya Combo kit... yeah! I tend to create cards for the current season so the first Anyas to get inked up were the ones dressed for cooler weather. As winter progressed into spring, short sleeves and dresses showed up more until all I had left was this sassy Anya with her halter top and shorts... talk about perfect timing! Now that the sun is out it is time for this Anya to shine. To create a carefree spring break type of scene I went to the digital stamps section of the store and paired this cutie with some background images from the Beach digital stamp set. It looks like she drove her retro VW bus to this southerly spring break destination and brought her adorable pup from the Summer Dress Up set, along for the ride. Once it was time to color, I wanted to reinforce this Anya's carefree vibes with an ombre colored dye job on that cute bobbed haircut of hers. Her VW bus also got a cheery yellow paint job to up the feeling of sun shining throughout this scene. To complete the card I used one of the great sentiments that are also included in the Anya Combo kit and stamped it in brown so it kinda blends in with the dirt path she is walking on. I guess next it will be time to move on to the Anya Combo Kit 2, I can't wait to see where this new batch of Anyas take us. ;)

 Stay crafty my friends!

Life's a beach...

Hey there!

So this is the last card that I made for previews during Stamping Bella's release week and I'm finally getting around to sharing it here on the ol' blog. It features another one of the adorable Summer Bundle Girls, This time around I've colored up Summer Bundle Girl with a Beach Ball and Puppy. I paired these two beach babes with some of the sea shells from the retired Little Bits collection while the sentiment is part of the Summer Sentiment set. It looks like they have the beach all to themselves so you know that a bounding game of chase the beach ball is soon to begin, LOL! Have I mentioned recently how happy I am to finally have some fun summertime Bundle Girls to create with?  ;)

Toodles!

Magical like a unicorn...

Good morning!

Just a quick pop in today as work is pretty busy at the moment. So much so, that I didn't have time to get crafty yesterday. Lucky for me though, I had this card already made and ready for a day like this. Unicorn Starla is an oldie but goodie digital stamp from Sweet November Stamps and she's been in that pile of pre-printed images that sits on my desk. Since I've been trying to build up my stash of cards that get sent out with SN orders I've been working on these "extras" whenever I have the time. I gotta say, I've been having such a good time playing with these older images again and I've really been making a dent in the pile on my desk because of that. I guess I'm just going to have to start printing out new scenes to build it back up, LOL!   :)

Ok, gotta run... hope your week is off to a great start!

If you would like to watch the replay just head on over to my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page and check it out.  :)

Best wishes...

Hey, hey!

More review fun is happening this weekend at Sweet November Stamps and I found yet another pre-printed digital scene on my desk, ready to be colored. This time around it is a left over scene from the Galentine Fairy release featuring Fairy Thandie. She's got such a confident and sassy pose, which makes her a lot of fun to create with. I also borrowed the large rocks from the Ocean Background Builder sets to add a bit more interest to the scene. If you are interested in watching this card come together you can check out the short Reel on my Instagram feed or head over to the Sweet November Stamps Youtube channel for a longer speed coloring.  I will be coloring Live this morning over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page so I hope you can join me for more review goodness at 11am PST!  ;)

You're the best...

Hello bellas!

Today I'm on the Bellariffic Blog with a new Scenic Saturday card to share. The latest release saw the addition of so many great new stamps to the store, including this Curvy Girl Plays Tennis image. She looks quite confident as she poses with her ball and racket, so much so that I thought she could use a tennis court background to call home. Since I myself do not play tennis, my first step was to Google photos of tennis courts to give me an idea of where to start. In fact, Google images is one of my best resources whenever I want to create any kind of background that I haven't done before. For this card in particular, I was inspired to recreate a clay court with a tall green screen fencing it in. Looking at the photo I was able to simplify the design into three distinct horizontal sections; the court, the fence and the sky/tree section at the top. By breaking the scene down into pieces like that, tackling a new background feels much more manageable. The net was created by leaving a narrow strip of white card stock showing as I colored in the green fencing, then using a black multi liner pen I drew in the netting below. For the finishing touch, I heat embossed the sentiment so that it would tie in with all of the other white accents throughout the scene. I hope this card inspires you to make the most of internet image searches the next time you want to create your own card backgrounds. :)

Stay crafty my friends!

Happy Birthday...

 TGIF my friends!

I've been wanting to color up this cute little bunny Clown from Purple Onion Designs for some time, I just couldn't think of a card theme other than the county fair that this Clown was released under. It took me a while to finally figure out that a birthday themed card would be perfect. Once I settled on that, the scene quickly came together. I paired a couple of gifts from the Little Packages set with the happy Clown and stamped the Countryside background in the distance. I colored her in pretty spring pastel hues for a spring birthday and even added a floral print to part of her costume. I added some sparkle to the balloons and glossy accents to her pink clown nose to make it nice and shiny. The sentiment looks to be retired from the POD store unfortunately. This card was another fun one and it's a good start to rebuilding my stash of birthday cards too.  :)

Laters.  :)
