Some special friends for the Princesses...

Hello friends!

I don't have a princess to share with you today BUT there are a few magical little friends who call Sweet November Land home and I'm dying for you to meet them!

Remember the dragon that Ilyse was wanting to befriend? Well darling little Cinder may look a bit rough around the edges with his sooty smile and scales but he would love to have a princess for a friend. They would have so much fun playing charades from all the the smoke shapes that he puffed into the sky.
And that unicorn Isadora was dreaming to meet? Shy little Meadow with her opalescent horn and shimmering mane may need some coaxing to leave her sheltered forest glen but she has been tempted to join the other animals when she listens to Isadora sing by the brook so I'm sure it won't be long before Isadora's wish comes true. :)
Finally, there is Breezy the pegasus. This little whirlwind of energy loves to get Arabella out of her tower and take her for rides across Sweet November Land. She flits and flies and prances around delighting all the other inhabitants with her thrilling aerodynamic displays.

These are three separate stamps that will all be available at ATS on Monday but this special candy kit includes all three together... take a look!
Magic animals candy kit includes; one Sweet November Pegasus Breezy rubber stamp, one Sweet November Unicorn Meadow stamp, one Sweet November Dragon Cinder, twelve 6x6 sheet of K&Co paper, Prima flowers and e.line pearls and gems, ribbon, rose ribbon, Maya Road stick pins, buttons, four envelopes, four card blanks and my card.
All you have to do for a chance to win this candy is leave a comment on this post. If you link to this candy on your own blog that is great and much appreciated but not a requirement... I want everyone to be able to play along. And when I say everyone, I mean everyone. I will ship the candy anywhere in the world so everyone is encouraged to play! :)
The candies will stay open through Sunday, January 2nd and I will announce the randomly generated winners on Monday, January 3rd. Which just so happens to be the official release date for all of January's new stamps over at ATS!
Can't get enough of the magic? Then you'll want to make sure you stop by the Sweet November Gals' blogs! Traci, Rachel and our January guest, Nancy, have all created some super cute cards with these fun little critters that aren't to be missed! :)
Well that wraps up all the previews for January's Sweet November release. Thanks so much for making the time to come back each day this past week to take a look... only a few more days 'til the release now!

Sweet November princess peeks day 4!

Hey, hey, hey!
Here we are at day four of our Sweet November princess previews already, can you believe it?

It's that time of month when we leave the everyday behind and step into the magical world of Sweet November land. And this time we are not the only visitors to frolic in the forest glens and converse with all the whimsical characters that call Sweet November Land home... this month there are princesses to be found there as well!

Meet Princess Lillianne. Forget fancy balls and pining away in towers for Prince Charming... Lillianne may be royalty but she is a girl of action and adventure! She would much rather be exploring dragon caves, taunting trolls and braving fairy rings. Lillianne isn't afraid to hike up her skirts and get a little dirty during her adventuring, in fact the only thing she is afraid of is her Queen mother trying to wrangle her into a restrictive corset and glass slippers! ;)

Take a peek at Lillianne's candy...
Princess Lillianne's candy kit includes; one Sweet November Princess Lillianne rubber stamp, ten 6x6 sheet of Sassafras paper, one 6x6 sheet of DCWV paper, one mini Imaginisce clear stamp set, Prima flowers and e.line pearls and gems, ribbon, rose ribbon, Making Memories stick pins, buttons, four envelopes, four card blanks and my card.

But don't let that cool, calm demeanor fool you... inside beats the heart of a lion and she is as brave as any knight in the land. Sweet November spotlight on Nancy!

Good morning!

I hope that everyone had a truly wonderful Christmas! Mine was perfect and one of the best things of all... my internet is working once again. Yeah! It's the little things isn't it? LOL ;)

I'm so glad that you are taking time out of this busy holiday season to stop by for a new Sweet November Spotlight as we kick off a week of sneak peeks and blog candies for the upcoming January release!
Today I want to shine the spotlight on an amazing paper crafter and stamper, Nancy Thomas! I was first introduced to her gorgeous work back in my scrapbooking days at the Lifetime Moments message board, where she was on their design team and created beautiful pages that were clean lined in design with whimsical touches thrown in. Sadly, the LM store shut down but after awhile I found Nancy again through blogging and, like myself, she was stamping and card making too. Nancy's signature style had transitioned into a new medium and is as delightful as ever... luckily for me she is a big fan of Sweet November and I love seeing how she brings the SN characters to life on her cards . :)

Alrighty, time to share how Nancy answered the SN questionnaire...

1) What color do you feel represents your personality and why?
Pink definitely. I've always been a girly girl.

2) Is your style of dress/ home decor similar to your style of card making?
I think both my style in fashion and home decor are somewhat similar to my card making style - classic with a twist, nice clean lines.

3) What one thing always puts you in a good mood?
Playing with my granddaughter.

4) If you could visit any time in history when would it be?
I think the 60's. It was a revolutionary and liberating era for women. And the fashion was radical.

5) If you were a mythical creature ie. fairy, elf, mermaid, troll, wizard, witch etc., what kind would you be and why?
I think I would probably be a fairy. You know, cute, sweet and thin! Plus it would be fun to flit here and there easily.

Bonus question
6) If you are a fellow Gleek, which character from McKinley High do you most identify with?
Sorry, not a gleek at all. I think I've only watched one show actually. My television watching tends toward the darker side like Fringe.

Hey, nothing wrong with that, Fringe is pretty awesome too! :)

Check out this fab card featuring Winter Penelope and Juniper that Nancy created. It was an easy one to be inspired by as the soft pastel color palette and touch of sparkle really caught my eye. I also followed her same basic layout design, just flipping it a bit to better suit Winter Darby. All in all this came together so quickly and I don't think I've ever had Darby looking as soft and delicate as she does here and I've got Nancy's pastel color inspiration to thank for that. :)

Nancy will be joining Traci, Rachel and myself in the January Sweet November sneak peeks starting tomorrow! This new release celebrates that wish all little girls entertain at one time or another... the wish to be a princess, so be sure to come back and take a peek! ;)Supply list:

all is bright...

Well here we are, it's Christmas Eve day folks... are you ready? I think I am! I'm ready to kick back, relax, and enjoy time with my loved ones... that and all the great food, LOL! :)

This card is another simple one using one more Lili of the Valley kid's Christmas pageant type stamps that I had colored up. I so fell in love with these and I admit that the slightly OCD part of me is very satisfied that I was able to use each one on a card before Christmas this year. ;)

Alrighty, I'm going to be taking tomorrow off from blogging so have a very Merry Christmas my friends and I will see you back here on Sunday when Sweet November will be kicking off a new round of sneak peeks and blog candy with a spotlight on January's guest gal... hope to see you then! :)

The first Noel...

the angels did say
was to certain poor shepherds
in fields as they lay...

Good morning friends. :)

The internet connection is still a no-go at my place and I am starting to truly feel cut off from the world, LOL! The telephone guy should (fingers crossed) be looking into it today so hopefully it won't be much longer. In the meantime I apologize in advance if I don't respond to emails quickly or if I'm unable to make my blogging rounds as often as I would like. This little hitch thrown in right before the holidays is just not something I expected having to deal with... hope you understand.

I've been busy getting all my last minute Christmas details taken care of and that hasn't been leaving much time even for card making so what I do get done has to be super simple and quick. Luckily I've had a couple of these Lili of the Valley images colored up for awhile so I was able to throw this one together in no time! I kept the layout design very clean and basic and just let the sweet image shine.

Well, thanks so much for taking time out of your busy day to visit and I hope that Christmas to-do list is shrinking... only one more day to go! :)

Hugs! Supply list:

Here comes Suzy Snowflake...

dressed in a snow white gown
tap, tap, tappin' at your windowpane
to tell you she's in town...

Hey there my stamping peeps!

It's Wednesday and time for a brand new challenge over at ATS! This week is all about finding inspiration from a song when making your card or project. I knew immediately which song and which stamp I wanted to use for this one because not only is the song inspiring the card but it was also my main inspiration for creating the SN Snowflake Fairy stamps in the first place! The song is an oldie sung by Rosemary Clooney called, "Suzy Snowflake", here let me share the lyrics with ya...

Here comes Suzy Snowflake
Dressed in a snow-white gown
Tap, tap, tappin' at your windowpane
To tell you she's in town.

Here comes Suzy Snowflake
Soon you will hear her say
Come out ev'ryone and play with me
I haven't long to stay.

If you want to make a snowman
I'll help you make it, one, two, three.
If you want to take a sleigh ride
Whee! The ride's on me.

Here comes Suzy Snowflake
Look at her tumblin' down
Bringing joy to ev'ry girl and boy
Suzy's come to town.

If you want to make a snowman
I'll help you make it, one, two, three
If you want to take a sleigh ride
Whee! The ride's on me.

Here comes Suzy Snowflake
Look at her tumblin' down
Bringing joy to ev'ry girl and boy
Suzy's come to town.

Bet you aren't surprised that I would find those lyrics appealing and that they would get my imagination going. If you get the chance to actually listen to the song I highly recommend it as it is utterly charming. :)

Ok, so now it is your turn and remember, every week there is a new and exciting prize being offered and in order to be eligible to win, your card
must include a stamp that is sold in the All That Scraps store. Whether it is any of our wonderful in house designs or from the various other stamp companies that ATS carries, the choice is yours. Then be sure to link up your creation with Mr Linky by next Tuesday at 10pm est and only one entry per person please!

I believe in Santa Claus...

I believe in Santa Claus, I'll tell you why I do
'cause I believe that dreams and plans and wishes can come true
I believe in miracles, I believe in magic too
Oh I believe in Santa Claus and I believe in you...

Hello everybody!
Well unfortunately I am on day two without an internet connection. It's kind of amazing to realize just how much of my little world relies upon on it. I think I would be having fits if I wasn't lucky enough to have a little sis who loves and adores me (hahahahaha!) and will share her computer with me. Thanks Jac... I'll put a good word in with Santa for you this year. ;)

Speaking of Santa... my card for today is very different from the usual cards I share on here. I actually used stamps that don't need to be colored in, though I did sneak in some red on Santa's suit. I just couldn't help myself, LOL! The stamps are from Unity and their vintage charm won me over as soon as I saw them... that and the free shipping on all orders 'til the end of the year. :)

Anywho, this one was super quick, like under 15 minutes quick, because the entire thing was made out of paper scraps and bits and pieces that tend to float around my desk until they are glued down to something. But even though it is pretty different, different can be good and I had a lot of fun with this one.

Alrighty, time for me to get busy, busy, busy. Be good my friends... only a few days left to get on that nice list. ;)

Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill
paper/die cuts- Making Memories (Falala)
stamps- Unity
ink- Memento rich cocoa and Colorbox chestnut roan
ribbon
buttons
Making Memories poinsettia flower
Copic markers:

Although it's been said...

many times
many ways
Merry Christmas

to youuuuu...

Hey gals, I haven't been able to get on the internet at home as there is something screwy going on with my dial up connection... I'm blaming it on the cold. ;)
So I'm down at my sister's place checking emails and getting this post up as quick as I can, hope you don't mind. :)

But I just had to share the news that Tickled Pink Stamps will be sponsoring the Cupcake Craft Challenge regularly in 2011 and we are kicking things off with this week's challenge to make 'thank you' cards. There is a Tickled Pink prize up for grabs so you should check out all the fun here for a chance to win!

Luckily for me I have this great 'handwritten Christmas' sentiment set from Paper Trey Ink and one of the stamps on it was perfect for this challenge as it is both Christmas-y (which is what I'm making right now) and thankful as well. I decided to do just a tiny bit of altering to 60s mod Ivy by drawing in some pointy elf ears on her... now I think she kinda looks like the elves from the movie "Elf" or the Rudolph animated feature. Too funny! :)

Alrighty friends, have a great day... hope you don't run into any cotton-headed-ninny-muggins! LOL

Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and Copic X-Press It

Believe in what your heart is saying...

hear the melody that's playing
there's no time to waste
there's so much to celebrate...

Ahhh Sunday, how I love thee. And it looks like I'll be baking the day away with my mom and sis so this will be loads of fun. I've got the music cued and ready to go with the Glee Christmas CD up first and then the Lynn Anderson Christmas album after that. In our family Christmas just isn't Christmas until you've listened to "Ding-A-Ling the Christmas Bell" at least a couple dozen times. It's tradition, LOL! :)

Ok,ok time to get to my card... yesterday it was all about the Pure Innocence little boy and today the little girl is back on the scene looking just as cute as she ever does. I also broke out some cool Hero Arts Christmas tree stamps to complete the scene which kind of reminds me of the Peanuts Christmas when they are at the tree lot with all the big fancy trees and it is the humble, little tree that is chosen. Hmmmm... we may need to watch that cartoon today too now that I think about it. ;)

I hope your day is as sweet as can be, later gators!

cardstock- Bazzill and Copic X-Press It

but do you recall the most famous reindeer of all...?

Well, it's official... Christmas is only a week away! Hope you're ready for it! :)
And as much as I would like to sit and chat about it all, I've got work to get ready for so I'll be keeping this one short and sweet.
Remember how I was trying to make a simple card yesterday and it didn't quite happen? Well, my card today certainly succeeded in being quick and easy! I started with a pre-made kraft card base and the rest pretty much came together from me cleaning off my desk, LOL! Not only did I put the Cuttlebug to use but I also finally remembered/unearthed this great reindeer border punch that my mom got me for my b-day. ;)
Once I got the card all together it was looking very boy-ish so I had to find a stamp that would fit that vibe. When I came across this little Pure Innocence guy and his pup he let me know straight away that he would be perfect for this one and I believed him. Man do I love it when cute and quick go hand in hand! LOL

Take care my friends and I'll see ya back here in 24. :)

Deck the halls he's up on the roof top...

Whoa oh oh oh...
Deck the halls he's up on the roof top!
Whoa oh oh oh
Deck the halls he's up on the roof top!

TGIF my stamping peeps!
If you haven't heard the Glee "Deck the Rooftop" mash-up yet, I highly recommend it... I totally rock out to it in the car, LOL! :)

I've got quite the busy day ahead of me so I'm just gonna dive right into my card. I originally set out to make something super quick and super easy but things quickly deviated from that plan... first, I decided to look through my TGF stamps since they are not only cute but usually pretty quick to color up as well. I found WS Miko from the Roll Call set and thought that with a bit of tweaking her dress could look like a nightgown but I wanted a less mischievous looking face so I kept searching and came across WS Reeta... ahhhh, perfect! Ok, so a head swap and tiny altering of her collar was a tad more work but not too bad. Then I pulled out my Christmas stamp binder to look for a good sentiment and instead I found these Martha Stewart clear stamps with the cutest little vintage Santa flying in his sleigh... ooooooh, I suddenly had an idea! Sure I ended up having to hand cut a window pane, computer print a sentiment and dig out some little Christmas lights from my ornament making days but I think it was all worth the extra effort. ;)

Well, thanks for stopping by, I hope you all enjoy this last weekend before the big holiday! Supply list:

Star bright...

first star they saw that night
I am aware that this love is for me
and the greatest of gifts is free...

Good morning friends... only nine more days until Christmas, are you ready for it?
Christmas prep is moving right along in the ol' casa de Amy and I'm hoping to have a baking day this weekend 'cause I've got lots of goodies to make like chocolate malt cookies, cut out cookies jello popcorn balls... all for gift trays of course (though I might sneak one or two for myself, yum yum!) ;)

So I was able to use another Gorjuss Girl on my card today (man I wish Sugar Nellie would add some new ones to the line, they are so cute) as well as this cool sentiment stamp that is practically a focal point all on its own. And I was so proud of myself for pulling out the ol' Slice machine and putting it to use to make some die-cut flourishes... I really need to make the time to use that thing more, LOL!

Well I should go get ready for the day, smooches! :)

Green is in the mistletoe and red is in the holly

silver in the stars above that shine on everybody
gold is in the candlelight and crimson in the embers
white is in the winter night that everyone remembers...

Ya gotta love it when you can jump from Dolly Parton one day to Enya the next, LOL. Hey, I'm an equal opportunity Christmas song aficionado... old school traditional, fun and contemporary, it's all good if you ask me! ;)

Well, it's Wednesday and you know what that means... time for a new challenge at All That Scraps. This week all you have to do is include Christmas flowers in some form somewhere on your card. I went with poinsettias both in the print of one of the pattern papers that I used and as paper flowers on my card. Then I threw in some snowflakes for good measure as I thought they would look pretty with Eira amongst the flowers. :)

I know things are busy right now but we would love to have you join the fun and remember, every week there is a new and exciting prize being offered and in order to be eligible to win, your card must include a stamp that is sold in the All That Scraps store.Whether it is any of our wonderful in house designs or from the various other stamp companies that ATS carries, the choice is yours. Then be sure to link up your creation with Mr Linky by next Tuesday at 10pm est and only one entry per person please!

Alrighty, thanks so much for stopping by today!

I'll be fine and dandy...

Lord, it's like a
hard candy Christmas...

Good morning!

Nothing about this card is sad but I couldn't help to start singing this Dolly Parton Christmas song as I was loading it into this post. It's another one that I tend to sing along to quite animatedly when it hits the rotation on my cd player... what can I say, it allows me to emote passionately for a couple minutes like only a good country song can, LOL! ;)

Anywho, I used sweet Noelle from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps on my card and I have a confession to make... after finishing this up last night I was in such a mood for some pepperminty goodness that I whipped up a batch of peppermint bark. Yummmmmmy! In fact, I'm having a hard time resisting eating peppermint bark for breakfast this morning. :)
Ok, ok, back to the card... I used some more old papers that I came across in my organizing the other day, this time some Heidi Grace from 2007. How could I not when it had all those cute candy canes on it? All that pink and mint green may not be a traditional Christmas color combo but I think it works here.

Well, I had better get going... take it easy and why not eat something sweet today? ;)

Oh, there's no place like home for the holidays...

‘cause no matter how far away you roam
when you pine for the sunshine of a friendly gaze
for the holidays, you can’t beat home sweet home
I met a man who lives in Tennessee
he was headin’ for Pennsylvania
and some home made pumpkin pie...

Happy Monday everyone!
Well, I managed to dig myself out of the two feet of snow that fell, though my mailbox fell victim to a snow plow I suspect because it got totally munched yesterday and will have to be replaced. The big old lilac bush in the yard didn't fair too well either with the heavy, wet snow breaking off a couple of big branches.
I also made time to go through my paper stash and pull all the Christmas ones into an organized container. In fact, that is how I came across these 'oldies but goodies' from Cosmo Cricket that I had forgotten all about... shameful I know! ;)
But as soon as I found these 'Be Good' papers I knew they were a perfect match for the new Cheeky Cherry Pie that I just got in the mail a couple days ago. I really love the vintage vibe of how this all came together and pretty quickly too, which is always a plus.

Ok, I'm going to cut this short as the internet is giving me fits and I keep getting booted off.
We are in the home stretch to Christmas folks, I hope the spirit of the season makes your week a great one! :)
