You're not normal...

Hello!

I'm up on the Blogabella today with my final Halloween card of the year. Looking through my stamps I realized that these fun Oddball Spooky Kids were still waiting to be inked up, so I remedied that situation with this spooky faux post card scene.

The Oddball Spooky Kids come as a set of three stamps; Wednesday, Pugsley and Thing. This gave me just what I needed for both the main characters and the decoration of the faux postage stamp. I stamped the creepy kiddos side by side then colored them in a nearly monochromatic palette that suited their gloomy nature. Once the coloring was complete, I masked off the kids, postage stamp and space that says 'post card' so that I could use my Copic airbrush system to spray on the dark background color. Next, I embellished the background by dipping a q-tip into some colorless blender salution and added the fuzzy spots cascading across the card. From there all I had to do was add the various postage themed accents and a pair of older sentiments to complete this spooktacular Halloween themed 'post card'.  :)

Stay crafty my friends!

What makes you different...

Hello!

It's time for another Scenic Saturday on the Bellariffic blog and I'm taking a break from Halloween to play with some of the new Oddball Zodiac girls that were part of the Holiday release, Oddball Zodiac Cancer, Oddball Zodiac Leo and Oddball Zodiac Virgo.

This card isn't my usual scene building type of card but I was short on time this week, making it a great opportunity to play with some of the patterned paper in my craft stash. I started with a smaller scrap of my good coloring card stock and trimmed the bottom edge using a pretty scalloped border die. After masking the scallops I stamped Zodiac Virgo from the chest up. I then masked her off before stamping Oddball Zodiac Cancer and Oddball Zodiac Leo on either side. By cropping and layering them this way I had a group of three friends but a limited amount to color. I had already pulled the pretty floral print paper so I color matched their clothes to the paper. The floral print is also very busy with a lot of visual weight, which lead me to opt for a simple airbrush of grey behind the girls as not to compete with the print and create a nice balance and place for the eye to rest between the top and bottom of the layout design. The sentiment is an older one from Stamping Bella and as soon as I saw it I knew it would be the perfect finishing touch for these Oddball gal pals.

Stay crafty my friends!

So sweet it's scary...

Hey, hey!

During the Stamping Bella Holiday release weekend I hosted a bonus Live coloring over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. I stamped up the adorable Bundle Girl Witchy and Kitty because the Bundle Girls are some of my absolute favorite SB stamps. Their simple caps and dresses are the perfect place to have some fun adding prints and patterns to really dress them up and that is just what we did with this little witch. Not only did we add a decorative band to her cap but we also created a Halloween inspired plaid on her dress. Once the witch and her kitty were all colored up we created the spooky night scene by hand and a bit of airbrushing for the sky and moon. The sentiment stamped at the bottom of the card is also included with the Bundle Girl and I left that area white so it would stand out against the dark scene. After the Live I tied some black and silver baker's twine around the card front as a nice finishing touch.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Rosemary by your garden gate...

Hello!

I'm back on the Bellariffic blog with more Halloween fun for this week's Scenic Saturday card at Stamping Bella. The new Holiday release that just hit the store has a great variety of new Halloween stamps to choose from and I opted to ink up the lovely Uptown Girl Witchy Sisters.

This beautiful pair of witches also come with a classic quote from the Practical Magic movie and I really wanted to make sure I had room to include it on the card. This led me to stamping everything on a long slimline card front, first the quote, then the witches above it and finally I stamped the older Garden Backdrop after masking the witches. Once the mask was removed I was left with a scene that I could color to match back to the quote. I added rosemary and lavender in front of the fence and made the roses red, just like the ones in the movie. The Witchy Sisters were colored to match their outfits in the final scenes of the movie and I added some magic sparkles swirling around the broom using a white pen. While this scene may not have traditional Halloween spookiness, I think it is full of the enchantment that encompasses this special season.

Stay crafty my friends!

Hey ghoul...

Olo!

I've got another card that I made for the Stamping Bella Holiday release to share today. The Oddball Grim Reaper is the latest Halloween Oddball to be added to the store and he definitely looks like he means business. With his big ol' scythe and trusty raven Halloween is going to be extra scary with this guy on the prowl. I paired him with the older Haunted House Backdrop to help set the scene and I had to sketch in an extra tree by hand for balance. The 'hey ghoul' sentiment is included in the stamp set and I traced it with a glitter pen so it would show up better in that dark night sky. I think it all comes together to make one hauntingly fun card.  :)

Toodles!

Release day at Stamping Bella!

Good morning!

The Holiday release is now available at Stamping Bella and you can find all 16 of the new Halloween and Christmas stamps there, ready to ship right to you.

The final four Oddball Zodiac Girls are part of this release and I was able to play with Virgo and Libra for the previews so I'm sharing them both today. First up is Oddball Zodiac Virgo and she comes with a full sheaf of wheat, the little bee and the Virgo sentiment. I stamped the wheat on its side and only inked up half of it so it would look like it is lying on the ground behind her. After coloring the characters I masked them off and used a mix of messy background stamps to add the abstract patterning in the classic Virgo colors. The sentiment was fleshed out with a Happy Birthday die cut, making this a fun and personalized birthday card.

Next is Oddball Zodiac Libra and she comes with a set of scales and the Libra sentiment. I followed the same design formula that I used on Virgo, substituting the browns and greens for the light pastel colors that represent Libra. The sentiment is the same Happy Birthday die cut, and it is pretty cool to see how different the same design can look by just changing out the color scheme.

Ok, now go check out the new release and start working on that wish lit!

Day 2 of Holiday previews at Stamping Bella!

Hey, hey!

The Holiday release sneak peeks continue on today at Stamping Bella and the rest of the team and I are sharing more cards using all of the new stamps that will be available for purchase tomorrow, Monday, September 21st at noon EST.

Yesterday I shared a fun Halloween card and today is all about a fun twist on a Christmas card. The Christmas Alone Oddballs set includes a trio of characters that most of us will recognize from a modern classic Christmas movie, as well as the coordinating sentiment. I did a bit of masking to group them closely together and had fun coloring each character to reflect the trials and tribulations that they experience throughout the story.

If you would like to see more Stamping Bella coloring, I will be Live today at 11am PST over on the Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page with another cute preview. Hope to see ya there!

Have a good one!
