Lazy days of summer digi release!

Hello, hello!

Are you ready for a new digital stamp release at Sweet November Stamps? Today we are introducing the Lazy Days of Summer collection made up of four pretty summer loving girls and their critter pals. Each one is whiling away the long hours without a care in the world, happy in the knowledge that tomorrow will be more of the same. You can find; Joni, Skylar, Emsley and Arden all in the store now.

For my first card I've colored up Joni on her tire swing and you can tell that she is seeing just how high in the sky she can go. A sweet little bird is watching with curiosity from the branch above. For the background I paired Joni with one of the stamps from the Autumn Cottages clear set and I stamped it using Memento Rich Cocoa so that the softer lines would help it look further in the distance.

Next, I created this cute card using Skylar who is busy making daisy chain crowns for herself and her adorable pup. Then they will be off with some imagination play where they are the prettiest princesses in all the land. The background is part of the Spring is Back digi set and as you can see, it works just as well for summer cards. If you would like to watch this summer scene be colored up, I filmed a quick reel for Instagram and a longer speed coloring will be going up on the Sweet November Stamps Youtube channel soon.

Finally for today, we have Emsley resting in a hammock with her special furry friend. It's the hottest part of the day and they have found the perfect shady spot to cuddle and take a little siesta. Hopefully her pup isn't too wiggly and makes the hammock tip over!

Now be sure to check out the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group on Facebook for even more Lazy Days of Summer cuteness from the rest of our talented design team. Also, don't forget, I will be coloring Arden Live today at 11am PDT over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page and I hope to see ya there!

Extraordinarily happy...

TGIF!

It's hard to believe that the eleventh Scene Progression Break Down video series just wrapped up yesterday on the Sweet November Stamps Youtube channel. This one was all about coloring in layers of beautiful flowers to create a delightful garden for the Extraordinarily Happy dragon. Over the last month I've been sharing how I create ombre effects with the dragon's skin and various kinds of impressionistic type flowers that are very simple to create and can add a big impact to a variety of summer scenes that you want to color. There is also a lot of utilizing negative space that's another great tool to have in your creative toolbox of techniques. So if you feel like binge watching how this card came together simply head on over to Youtube and enjoy. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Life is better at the beach...

Hey there!

So there is currently a color board challenge going on in the Moonlight Whispers Facebook group and I couldn't resist dusting off one of the lovely beach girl stamps from back in the Kraftin' Kimmie days to play along. This beauty with her big hat is Mae and I paired her with the At the Beach background stamp that is also a retired KKS image. As you can see above, the inspiration is a mix of pinks, teal and cream and I leaned heavily on the teal and cream for the background on my card, saving the pinks for the bathing beauty's ensemble. The challenge runs through July 19th with two winners randomly selected to each receive a $10 gift certificate to the Moonlight Whispers shop. I gotta say, it was a lot of fun having an excuse to ink up an oldie but a goodie again.  :)

Thanks for stopping by!

A flippin' awesome day...

Hello again!

I'm finally getting around to sharing this fun beach scene that I colored Live during the Summertime Fun clear release weekend at Sweet November. For this one I paired the jolly walrus from the Tide Pool Pals set with the flying seagull from the older Sea Birds set. The lighthouse on the cliffs is from the new Coastal Getaway Background Builder set and it really helps create the look of a more northern Atlantic type beach scene. That's also what prompted me to create the more rocky looking shore line for this walrus to be hanging out on.   :)

Happy-Ness...

Hey, hey!

This cute little Loch Ness Monster is keeping cool during these hottest days of summer. She's part of the Perfect Mix set from Impronte d'Autore that I've had for a while now, just waiting for the perfect time to color her up. Her dynamic pose and happy demeanor made her quite a delight to bring to life with my markers. The lake background was added by hand and I found the perfect sentiment in a now retired stamp set from Heffy Doodle. I don't know about you but she certainly doesn't look like a monster that we need to be afraid of, LOL!

Stay crafty my friends!

Let's Shell-ebrate...

Good morning!

This quick but cute birthday card combines one of the older Merwees from the Merwees set #2 with the puffer fish balloon stamp from the Merwee Party set that released in May. The fun pose with her hands tucked behind her back was perfect for making it look like she is ready to surprise a friend with a whole bunch of adorable balloons. Making that happen was as easy as masking her off and stamping the middle balloon before masking it as well and stamping the others on either side. Next, I masked off the other two balloons so that I could use a wave stencil and the Copic airbrush system to fill in the background quickly. I also ended up stamping the school of fish from the Mermaid Hair set before removing the masks so that it would look like some are swimming behind the merwee. Because I used a smaller die to cut out the main panel, it left me with just enough room to add a simple sentiment right on the card base, completing this sweet but simple birthday card quite nicely.   :)

Toodles!

Naughty list...

Hidee- ho ho ho!

Even though summer temps are heating up, Sweet November Stamps is taking this weekend to highlight the Christmas in July sale that is running all month long. So if you are one who likes to get a jump start on your holiday card making, be sure to peruse the Christmas section for 30% OFF all Christmas digis, sequin mixes and clear sets. The July challenge in the Friends of Sweet November Stamps Facebook group also has a Christmas in July option for a chance to win a gift certificate to the store, for extra incentive to get your Christmas card making going.

So for my card today I thought it would be fun to re-visit the Naughty List set that released a couple years ago. I just love the bald little head on this sweet Santa who is checking out that extra long naughty list in his down time. I paired him with one of the elves from the set, this one is carrying an extra large hunk of coal, I'm guessing for someone who has been extra naughty, LOL! If you would like to watch this scene come together I did film a quick reel for Instagram and there will be a longer speed coloring version up on the Sweet November Stamps YouTube channel shortly. :)

Toodles!

Our friendship is golden...

TGIF!

I recently pulled out the older Goldie set from Sweet November Stamps to make a few quickie cards for orders and this was the simple design that I came up with. That great wave stencil from Simon Says Stamp came out to play again, which made for fast backgrounds when combined with the Copic airbrush system. These two cuties were chosen in particular because I like how their eyes lead you right up to the sentiment at the top of the card panel. A sprinkling of enamel dots to mimic bubbles and I had a whole set of these ready to mail out. :)

Have a good one!
