Don't get your tinsel in a tangle...

Good morning

It's time for a new Christmas digi release at Sweet November Stamps and the magic of the holiday season has brought to life six new Tree Trimming Fairies. There are a total of five new images as well as five new coordinating digi sentiments that go perfectly with these industrious little holiday decorators as well as many other Christmas digis in the Sweet November catalog.

My card today features the slightly perturbed Tizzy Fizz fairy who always seems to get stuck with the job of untangling all of the tree tinsel. While her sisters get to fly freely, zipping from one branch to another with bulbs and ornaments Tizzy Fizz is constantly finding herself tangled up in yards of sparkling tinsel. And though she may give in to the occasional fit of frustration she knows that her contribution to the tree is an important one. The tree just wouldn't sparkle and shine as it should without her perfectly placed strands of tinsel catching and reflecting the glow from the strands of lights wound throughout its branches.

The Sweet November monthly newsletter also went out last night, full of information about what released this month as well as what we have to look forward to in December. As always an exclusive new digi also released with the newsletter. The Come let us adore Him Christmas angel is available for purchase in the store but newsletter subscribers can grab her for free! This sweet little heavenly angel is quite taken with the blessed babe in the manger as she looks upon him, full of love and adoration. If your not a subscriber yet and your bummed about missing out on this month's freebie no worries, simply go to the bottom of the Sweet November Stamps home page and sign up now. :)

Now be sure to go check out the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group on Facebook for even more Tree Trimming Fairy inspiration from Tee and our amazingly talented guest designer... Caitlin Anthony! I will be going Live on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page sometime today as well but the time is up in the air because I've got a sick kitty and a call into the vet's office. But once that is taken care of I will be on and coloring. :)

You can also find us on Instagram @sweetnovemberstamps and don't forget to use the #sweetnovemberstamps any time you share a card or project using SN images so we can see all of your beautiful makes!

Merry Christmas...

Olo!

With so many great new Christmas and Winter sets released at Hello Bluebird recently I'm sure it is no surprise to see that I've inked up another set already. This time I went for the Long Distance set, which actually isn't necessarily a Christmas set but with the help of some dies I made it work for the holiday anyway. Using the lovely scalloped Gallery Frame #5 slimline die as my guide I stamped the two bears from the set on either end of the card. I used grey ink to stamp the one that I wanted to be a polar bear and brown ink on the brown bear. The idea being that I wanted to play off the whole long distance theme by representing two different bears in two very different parts of the world. That also meant coloring in two different winter backgrounds and have them subtly merge in the center of the card. Then I just used the Merry die from the Christmas Words #1 die set and the Charlie Alpha dies to create the first part of my sentiment. The tag line was stamped on using a sentiment from the Long Distance set that I cut apart so it would read in a straight line rather than its original stacked appearance. Using a silver Copic Spica glitter pen I drew in the "phone lines" connecting the cans to either end of the sentiment. I'm really happy with how this single panel effectively tells the story of two very separate little bears wishing each other merry Christmas. :)

And don't forget that there are still a couple of days left to take advantage of the Black Friday Sale at Hello Bluebird. It doesn't apply to the two newest releases but as you can see, there are a whole lot of older stamps and supplies that pair wonderfully with the new images. :)

TTFN!

Wonderful Christmas Time...

Hello friends!

I've made another card using one of the new stamps by Julian Charlton for Purple Onion Designs. This time I've inked up Elliot and Marcel Tree Decorating and colored them in a more traditional color palette. I also tried my hand at a simpler more stylized way of coloring them to play off of their rather cartoon-like appearance. I may have gone a little too detailed on these fun characters but I think I nailed the look I was after on that tree. To complete the scene with a bit of extra flair I thought it would be cute to add little stick drawings to the window, like Elliot and Marcel had been playing in the condensation collected on the window panes. :)

Now be sure to hop on over to the Purple Onion Designs shop to check out the entire release as well as the annual Black Friday sale, which is happening right now!

Stay crafty!

Snow Much Fun...

TGI-Black Friday, LOL!

There are so many great sales and deals happening online today and I just wanted to remind everyone about the Black Friday sale and new winter release at Hello Bluebird. Five new clear sets with coordinating dies as well as four stand alone dies have been added to the shop, expanding on the recent Christmas release with even more cute kids and adorable critters partaking in all sorts of winter activities. My card today features the super fun Bunny Hill set but don't let the name fool you, there are no bunnies racing down these slopes! Indeed, the skiers in this set are much wilder and ready for some fast paced fun. I stamped all three skiers onto my card at an angle to really make it feel like they are zooming downhill. Then I masked them and added some of the small trees from the set behind them to again highlight the slope of the hill. In the far distance I colored in the rest of the snow covered mountain range. To finish off this high energy scene I grabbed a light blue ink and added some of the snowflakes that also come in the set, swirling and twirling as these three race past us. :)

Later gators!

Let it snow...

Hey there!

I'm popping in today with a sneak peek of one of the brand new holiday stamp sets being released at Hello Bluebird tonight! There are five new clear sets being added, perfect for winter and Christmas themes and my card today features the adorable forest critters from the Snow Day set. These cross country skiers and snowshoeing friends are trekking through the snow to get to their Christmas celebration. I added the birch trees from the Picked For You set to the background to really create the sense of them moving through a forest. I also decided to make the the ones I could into Arctic animals by coloring them with white fur and feathers. Then I continued this limited color palette with dark and light blues and just a touch of brown. I think the end result is quite pretty and definitely has that crisp, winter feel.   :)

There is also a Black Friday Sale happening at Hello Bluebird tonight so keep an eye on the HB Blog for more info to come on that!

Toodles!
