In the jungle, the quiet jungle...

Howdy friends! Here we are at the best day of the week... Glee night! Woohoo! :)
I'm excited to see what sweet new dance moves Kurt can teach me tonight, LOL!
So my card today is for the Farm Fresh Friday challenge at The Greeting Farm and it was a sketch by Cindy. I've been wanting to turn Bree into a little adventurer since I first got her and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to do so. I altered her a bit by wiping away the envelope and her mary jane shoes before stamping then just used a 0.1 pen to complete the missing lines. Since Marie hasn't made a zoo animal stamp set yet (keeping fingers crossed) these Doodlebug stickers were the next best thing. :)
Oh and the Sprout voting is going on over at TGF. It is only for today, and there are some really cute ones up for consideration so be sure to go cast your vote... I have! :) Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and GP
paper and stickers- Doodlebug Designs
stamp- The Greeting Farm (Wild Sprouts Bree)
ink- Memento tuxedo black and Colorbox dark brown chalk ink
Copic multiliner 0.1 pen

The tale of the forgotten Sprouts

So I mentioned yesterday that my desk was a disaster zone once again... well, I was going to do something about it and started cleaning yesterday evening. I was organizing all of the Wild Sprouts sketches that I had made and used for the challenge, putting them away in a folder when what did I find? Two sad little Sprouts that had gotten lost in the shuffle somehow... both still in pencil sketch form but pretty fully realized.
At first I was just going to file them away with the rest of the crew... never to be finished, I mean the challenge is closed so what's the point right? But they kept giving me these pleading looks and me being a big softy decided they needed their day in the spotlight just like all their friends. So rather than finish cleaning I got these two pen and inked and onto cards and I think we all feel better now... ;)
Granted, my desk is worse off now than when I started but I'll tackle that later. :)
For now,
Meet Kate.
Kate is quite the little hipster and has a real passion for fashion. She loves to shop and design and never leaves the house wearing the same outfit twice. One day she dreams of making it onto Project Runway.
Meet Addy.
Addy is a true little beach baby. She loves nothing more than to spend summer days swimming and laying out on her towel reading magazines and her favorite books. Who knows, she may even take up surfing one of these days just to meet that cute instructor...

Nothing lasts forever

Yes, I'm afraid to admit it but my desk is once again a disaster area. Try as I might it just could not stay clear and clean... ugh. Not only is the desk piled up with stuff, I've seriously got to get in there and organize the rest of the room as well... it's getting a bit out of hand. On the bright side, I did manage to put this card together and it completely uses left-overs from the Miles & Maisy Sprout card that were still kicking around. When I saw the new Diedrich Dare's color challenge of orange, blue and green I knew it was meant to be that I use up more of these scraps... it also doesn't hurt that it is one of my fave color combos too. ;)
Well I've gotta get busy... catch you in 24.

Mystery Monday on a Sunday

Hello, hello! Hope all is well in your little corner of the world. I'm chillin' this morning then it's back to attempting a clean sweep on the house while it's still nice out and before the holidays hit. It's kinda scary to think about how close Christmas is getting! Yikes! I really need to start getting busy on some holiday cards soon, but I'm such a procrastinator in that department... don't know why 'cause I do enjoy making them I just seem to put them off. How about you, have you started on your holiday cards yet?
Well, this past Monday a new challenge was issued over at Club Anya, it's called Mystery Monday and each week a different club member picks the challenge... pretty fun, right? So this week Joni had a rule of three theme to use a pink, black and white color combo plus three embellishments. My embellishments are flower die-cuts, buttons and rub-ons and I'm really diggin' how this one turned out!
Toodles!

Funky flowers

Hello, hello to all my fellow crafty gals out there! Hope everyone is having an amazing weekend so far. I had some plans fall through but I am looking on the bright side... more time to play with paper and stamps, which can never be a bad thing. ;)
I know it's getting down to the wire but I finally found some time to play along in this weeks Anyone for Anya challenge, which was to use any kind of flowers on a card. The first thing I did was pick a pack of Primas (say that three times fast, LOL) from my stash that I hadn't used yet and built the entire rest of the card around the colors of the flowers. It was fun taking this backward approach because embellishments are usually the last things I decide on. Feels like I'm shaking things up a bit, which is always a good thing. And once I had my flowers and Wild Sprouts Megan decided it was her turn to shine... well the rest of the card came together rather quickly. :)
Thanks for stopping by! Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and GP

Fiddle-dee-dee

Hey gals, sorry for the late post. It's been one of those mornings and now I'm off to get the tires changed on the car... fun stuff I tell ya. ;)
So I made this card for the Farewell to Traci challenge over at Club Anya last week. I've said before how much seeing her altering of stamps opened up that world to me and it's true. I hadn't thought about tweaking an image before I saw her work and when I did there was no going back, it was like she had given me permission to really play with my stamps... thank you Traci! So for this card I seriously altered Ballerina Anya into a Southern Belle. I swear she's still in there if you look closely enough, LOL! :)
Hope your Friday is shaping up to be better than mine!

FFF Emboss It challenge

Ok my fellow Glee gals wasn't last night's episode hilarious!? OMGosh... Kurt and the dancing football team had me laughing so hard I was crying! I have to say this is quickly climbing my list of best shows ever. :) I was pleasantly surprised with Eastwick, I don't know who the guy is who plays Darryl but he is just perfectly sleazy and slimy in that role. I'm not sure how long they can make a series like this last but I will be watching again.
Ok, enough TV talk from me... onto cards... as soon as I saw the Emboss It challenge posted last week I had the idea of using my new Diamond Plate CB embossing folder with the new My Guy Ian. The only problem is I had to wait for My Guy to arrive in the mail. Well, he finally came and I was able to put the two together yesterday and I have to say I think it looks like a pretty masculine card, which can be hard for me to do. I did alter Ian slightly by wiping the ink from his closed eyes before I stamped and then drew him in a pair of open eyes with my trusty Copic 0.1 multiliner pen.
Thanks for stopping by! :) Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and GP
paper- Basic Grey (orange solid) Scrapworks (orange dot) unknown silver

Yeah! It's Wednesday!

Why am I so excited for Wednesday you ask? Because Glee is on tonight LOL! Yes, I admit it, I love this new show... just call me a Gleek. Is anyone else out there hooked as well? :)
This is another reason I love fall... the new season of TV shows start premiering. One of the other ones I'm really looking forward to is Eastwick. I loved the movie back in the day so I'm hoping the show isn't a stinker... could be hit or miss but I'll give it a few episodes at least.
Anywho... onto today's card. This one was my Farewell to Joni card over at Club Anya. Like my Hippie Anya this was the first time I got around to actually inking up Navajo Anya. Again I don't know what took me so long because she was a fun one to color. Thank goodness for challenges is all I can say. I love how they motivate me to play with a variety of stamps and materials. :)
Have a fantabulous day my friends!

Happy fall y'all

Reading the comments from yesterday's post, I have to say it looks like I'm in pretty darn good company with all you fellow paper addicts. LOL ;)
Well today is officially the first day of fall, can you feel it? I know you have already heard me pining away for the cooler weather for quite some time now but fall 2009 is shaping up to be particularly exciting for me. November is going to be especially sweet... so stay tuned. I also promise to have more fun candy giveaways coming up... just a hint, if you liked my fairies you won't want to miss out. ;)
So anyway, for today's card I thought what better way to welcome in my fave time of year than with something fun for Halloween. This was another Club Anya challenge last week, Farewell to Janna. I love, love, love the new TGF Spooktacular set and have been using them quite a bit lately. Each of the little witches are slightly altered, just drawing in some lines and patterns for more decorative hats and dresses and giving them a lap so it looks like they are sitting... pretty easy peasy and such a great way to get more mileage from your stamps.
Later!

A justification for paper 'collecting'...

stands up, faces group, "Hello. My name is Amy and I have a paper addiction."
"Hi Amy."
"It's been two days since I've purchased more paper..."

LOL! Yep, I have a weakness for pretty papers... it's the truth. I started scrapbooking back in early 2002 and even then I was all about the paper. Heck, I can still pull paper from my 'stash' that I bought back in those early days. Did I mention I have a hard time letting go of it too? I have read many posts from gals about purging and I could never really jump on that train... I mean if I loved it then I should still love it now, right?
Well my friends, this card is how I justify hanging onto all that paper for so long. I bought this SEI Hippie Chick paper at least five years ago. No specific plan for it, just thought it was cute. So it waited and waited... and waited some more. Ever eager for the day when it would finally make its way onto a project. Last week that day arrived when I sat down to create a card for the Farewell to Jacquie challenge at Club Anya. I inked up Hippie Anya and thought about what paper to put her with so I could match up the colors of her outfit. I immediately remembered this line and it was perfect. Well, using these old papers must have brought me some luck because this card won me a new 80's Anya stamp during the VSN!
That is why I hang onto my paper, you just never know when it will make new goodies (like my stamps) shine.
LOL :)
Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and GP
paper and label sticker- SEI
stamp- The Greeting Farm (Hippie Anya)

Sunday morning

Mmmm... it is officially chilly here at night and in the mornings so I'm wrapped up all cozy in a blanket as I write this and I love it! The only thing that would make this morning better is if I had a cup of hot cocoa magically appear. Oh well, it's still pretty good. :)
So I hope you all are enjoying your weekend. I have the day off today but I'll still be doing some work later on. Not that I mind though because it is work I love to do. Anywho, can I say it feels a bit odd not to be posting a Sprout today, LOL? Though being back to our regularly scheduled programming isn't a bad thing... I made this card last week for the Farewell challenge at Club Anya. It was actually the first time I inked up Hula Anya and I can't understand what took me so long because I love her!
Well, thanks for stopping by and have a marvelous day!

Wild Sprouts Tessa and Wild Sprouts Miles & Maisy

Ok gals, this is it... the grand finale... I am completely out of Wild Sprouts ideas. Well, for this challenge at least. ;)
Now comes the hard part, choosing which ones to put in. I've already decided on Max and I'm going to put in Miles & Maisy because I love, love, love the idea of having a couple stamp. That leaves just one more spot, I'm thinking it's between Guy and Ruby but I may change my mind... decisions, decisions... anywho,

Wild Sprouts Peter and Wild Sprouts Piper?

Oops, sorry about the late post today gals... it's my day off so I ended up catching up on my sleep a bit. We're coming up on the last of my Sprout ideas... just one more day to go. :)
So today I was able to use my Piper card for the Anyone for Anya color challenge. It was pink, white and one other color... I went with yellow. Now I don't know if it technically qualifies as Piper is not a TGF stamp but I figured it was close enough. :)
Now without further ado...
Meet Peter.
Peter is the kind of guy you know you can always count on to help out or hang out. Whether you want to play ball or need help with your homework, Peter's the one to call. He is just an all around good kid, and everybody's best friend.
Meet Piper.
Piper is a dreamer. She is the girl with her head in the clouds who can come off as rather quiet and shy. She is sweet and soft spoken and most times can be found writing her latest flight of fancy down in her journal.

Wild Sprouts Stella and Wild Sprouts Chelsea?

Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day... well hello my friends! I hope you are having a lovely day today. So I've been making quite a few cards here lately, what with all these Sprout ideas and last night it finally happened... I ran out of ink in my E00 Copic marker! At first was kind of shocked, had I really been doing that much coloring? Apparently I had. Alls good though as I was able to order some refill ink and hopefully it will get here quickly. In the meantime I will just have to play around with some light skin color combos that don't use E00... any suggestions?
Surprise, surprise... I've got a couple more Sprouts today. I promise I am almost done! :) And I was able to use the Diedrich Dare sketch challenge again for the round card... very cool.
Meet Stella.
Stella is a little sweetheart who just loves to be in love. She enjoys showering the object of her affection with home-made cookies and love notes that she has made herself.
Meet Chelsea.
Chelsea is already a super star in her own mind. She loves to sing and dance everyday. In fact her biggest decision she has to make is whether to tryout for 'So You Think You Can Dance' or 'American Idol'... ;)Supply list (Stella):

Wild Sprouts Lucas and Wild Sprouts Nola?

Good morning! Oops, that may be a bit too much pep and energy for starting off today's post, LOL
We have some seriously moody little Sprouts today so I'll be sure to dial down my use of exclamation marks... ;)
To be perfectly honest, in my mind, these two aren't really up for consideration since I have already seen so many fantastic ideas go up in the galleria for this genre. But I've had them done so I couldn't leave them out of the fun... even though they are 'so over' fun. LOL
Oh and some of you have asked which ones I am leaning towards entering... that's a tough one. Right now I think it's between Ruby and Quinn for the girls and Guy and Finn for the boys. I'm flirting with the idea of creating a boy that combines Finn's hair and clothes like Guy... we'll see... like I said, this is tough! Anywho, onto today's Sprouts.
Meet Lucas.
Lucas is one serious little guy, walking around as if he carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. He can be a bit moody but that's only because it's a lot of work being this 'non-conforming'. ;)
Meet Nola.
Nola comes off as all tough and edgy with a definite no-nonsense attitude. She is that girl who is strangely intimidating and intriguing all at once. You just never quite know what is going on behind that cool exterior she puts up.

Ahhh... it's an early morning post for me today, which is rare enough but especially so after last nights rockin' Club Anya VSN party. It was really hoppin' over there last night and so much fun! :)
Well I've got two little girlies for y'all today. Apparently it's the battle of the red heads today, LOL! Hope you like them as much as I do.

Gigi is a bit funky and eclectic in her style choices. She's an artsy-crafty kind of gal and loves anything vintage. As you can see she has her purse and is ready to go thrifting... one of her favorite past-times.

Finn is that boy with the laid back attitude. He's friends with everyone and loves to just hang out and chill with his buddies.

Wild Sprouts Quinn and Wild Sprouts Alec?

Hello, hello! Hope you all are having a lovely weekend. Mine has been fabulous... all play and no work makes Amy a happy girl. :)
So today's Wild Sprouts additions were not on my original list of ideas but it was like the pencil began guiding itself until they were both fully realized on the paper in front of me. Crazy, I know! But I think there is a little nerd in all of us, right? LOL! Age of the geek, baby! :)
Meet Quinn.
Quinn may be a little awkward and shy in person but she takes charge when she logs in and becomes a level 75 Tauren shaman... for the Horde!
Meet Alec.
Alec's second language is HTML and he is never far from his trusty laptop. Legend has it that he has the fastest texting hands in the west... ;)

Wild Sprouts Max and Zoe and a winner!

Good Saturday morning fellow stampers!
First things first, let's get to what you've all been waiting for... the candy winner. Random.org picked a low one and apparently birthdays are lucky because CraftyJenn is our big winner! Congratulations Jenn! :)
Email me at pete_danger@hotmail.com with your mailing addy and I will get your goodies out to you on Monday.
Secondly, after reading the comments on yesterday's Sprout post I was sad to see some of you getting discouraged about entering your own designs. Please don't be. I can draw. It's just something I've always been able to do. I can't sing, I can't dance and I can't do math problems in my head... we all have our gifts BUT this challenge isn't even about the drawing. It's about sharing your ideas. Even if drawing isn't your gift you may still have the winning design idea so enter the challenge! :)
As for me I'm gonna keep playing with them because this is way too much fun. I was on a role yesterday and got these two on cards and the bonus... both are for challenges! Max is this week's Farm Fresh sketch challenge and Zoe is for the Diedrich Dares. :) I gotta say, I love how Max came out so I think I might as well enter him as one of my three today... hope I don't change my mind later.
Meet Max.
Max is a curly haired cutie who is always up for an adventure whether that is the first day of school or a hike through the woods. He's got his backpack and he's good to go!
Meet Zoe.
Zoe is a total girly-girl and she loves dressing up in her new sundress. This little beauty has style and grace and she is just as sweet as can be.

Wild Sprouts Jinx and Wild Sprouts Guy?

So if you are a friend of the farm you've probably seen that there is a "Design My Sprout" challenge going on over there. As soon as Marie issued the challenge my mind began to race... there are just so many little Sprouts that I would love to see come to life! These are my first two ideas but definitely not my last. That's why I'm going to hold off on posting any to the actual challenge just yet, I want to make sure I pick my fave three and since Marie gave us 'til the 24th I'm gonna wait. Still, I wanted to share here because this is just way too much fun! :)
First off meet Jinx.
Jinx is 99% angel with just that hint of a wild side. She's a contemporary little gal with a short sassy 'do and rocking her fave pair of jeans.
Now meet Guy.
Guy loves hanging out and playing on his hand-held video game system... I think he's even made it to level 10 on his new favorite game already! His hair may be a bit on the shaggy side but he's no little hooligan. ;)
I hope you like these first two attempts... I'm off to get a couple more out of my head and onto paper. Oh and don't forget that today is the last day to get your name into my blog candy drawing, tomorrow I will announce the winner!

Yikes! I slept in this morning and I have to get ready for work so this post is going to be super fast. Back during the "Week of Challenges" at Club Anya, Mari put up a card using Rock the Farm Anya at the beach. I loved that idea so much that I just had to take it one step further and add in some altering and friends. This card is the result... thanks for the inspiration Mari!
There's not much time left to get your name in my candy so if you would like a shot at winning click here!
Later! :) Supply list:

Button, button who's got the button...

So I went in a bit of a different direction with this week's Anyone for Anya challenge. The challenge is to use buttons, brads and bows on a card and I decided to change things up a bit and make my own decorative buttons using my TGF fairy stamps. The process is pretty simple; I started with some Technique Tuesday chipboard tiles, inked them up with some color and then stamped the image on with black ink. I then used a small hole punch to make the button holes and once that was done I used Versamark ink and UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel) set with my heat gun to give them a shiny appearance. Voila! TGF buttons! Too bad I can't wear them on a coat or something... ;)
The candy, candy, candy is still going strong so if you haven't yet posted for a chance to win go here. :)
I'm Audi! :)
