Crazy, creepy and awesome...

TGIF my friends!

I'm popping in real quick to finally share the completed card from my Live coloring video last Saturday. It was quite the epic coloring session considering we did a whole slimline scene that included three different characters. And just who are those three little characters? Why, they were a sneak peek of the Sweet November newsletter free digi for September called, This Way To Candy. They coordinate with the Halloween Masquerade kiddos that released last week as well as the new Neighborhood background stamp. All together, this collection really captures the energy and excitement of trick or treating on Halloween night.

Alrighty, well stay tuned for tomorrow's digi release at Sweet November. I promise it will be a complete 180 from these cuties.  ;)

It's a Halloween release at Colorado Craft Company!

Hello there!

I'm thrilled to be participating in this month's new release blog hop with Colorado Craft Company. There are so many great Halloween images in this release including a new Lovely Legs witch, two new Big and Bold stamp sets, and five sets from Anita Jeram that all include new, never seen anywhere else before, brand spankin' new images... along with coordinating dies for each! To celebrate this release 3C is giving away a new stamp set from each stop on the hop, so the more you comment the more chances you have to win. Entries will be accepted until midnight mountain time October 1st and winners will be randomly selected by 3C and announced on their blog the next day. They are also doing a HUGE complete bundle giveaway to ONE lucky winner. To be entered for that you have to use one of the designer's affiliate links when you place an order. Those links can be found on the 3C blog and will be included in one of their emails as well. In the mean time, here's the complete list of hop participants for you to check out:

I've got two cards to share today. The first features the new Lovely Legs Tombstone Witch set. This stylish witch and the tombstone are actually two separate stamps and I simply masked them together to make it look like she is leaning casually against that large stone marker. And just like last year's witch, I hand colored in some long flowing hair behind her because I like creating another opportunity for a bit more color in the scene. This time around she got pretty ginger hued locks to go with that electric green dress and indigo gloves. The rest of the scene stayed pretty dark and de-saturated so it looks like there is a spotlight of magic shining on her.

For my second card I paired the new Big and Bold Scary Pumpkin set with the Pumpkin Bucket mini set from Anita Jeram. I also borrowed a couple of mice from two different older sets, Ever Thine and Birthday Wishing, and added the Halloween candy from the mini set to their paws so it looks like they are filling the baby mouse's candy bucket. It was a lot of fun coloring the pumpkin to make it look like there is a candle inside with the light spilling out and casting a warm glow on the little family of mice. :)

Ok, time to send you on your way. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!

Hello Bootiful...

Hey, hey!

I'm up on the TGF blog today and with so many great Halloween themed digital stamps in the  TGF store I decided to go ahead and get my spooky on. At first I started pulling images into Microsoft Word and arranging them into a scene just like always but when I grabbed this Hello Bootiful sentiment from the Hallo Sentiment set, something about it made me want to go super big with it on the card. Then I thought, why not scratch the scene idea and take advantage of one of the perks of digital stamps versus traditional stamps and super size all of the images used on my card? It would definitely be a different look for me and it would be a lot of fun getting the images to interact in a whole new way. So I paired everything down to just the lovely Creeper, Hallo Bride and the web and spiders from the Halloween Nite digital set. Now because I was playing off the Boo in Bootiful, I cropped Hallo Bride's original curls off and colored in long wavy hair to make her look more like a floating wraith than the Bride of Frankenstein. I layered her behind the enlarged sentiment until she was peeking through the letters perfectly and then filled the right hand side of the card with that massive spiderweb.

With everything so front and center on the card I ended up keeping the coloring very simple and pulled my cool grey Copics for a monochromatic look. I love the fun, vintage vibe the grey scale lends to the over all design. The only embellishing I added was some Ranger glossy accents to the three spiders and a silver drop shadow behind the sentiment letters to help them pop a bit more. Well, I hope this inspires you to go big and bold with your digis the next time you print some out to create with.  :)

Stay crafty my friends!
