A fright in the night...

Hello there!

I'm having a hard time believing that it is October already, with everything I have on my to-do list I am wishing I could get an extra September. That doesn't mean I'm not itching to get all of the Halloween decorations out and get this place looking extra spooky, LOL! As for my card making, of course I had to have a Halloween card for this first day of October. I went back to my collection of Scooby Doo stamps from CC Designs and inked up this cute duo from the Best Buds set. Scooby is being held in Shaggy's arms after being scared by some ghost or ghoul so I went to my background builder sets from Sweet November Stamps to give them both something to be scared of. The haunted house is from the retired Spookville Expansion while the tree and ghost are from the Spooky Tree Background set. After masking everything together I colored most of the scene in by hand before using the airbrush to add the night sky and glow around the ghost. The sentiment is from the Midnight and Luna set and I thought it was too good not to use with these two pals.  :)

During the Stamping Bella Holiday release weekend I hosted a bonus Live coloring over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. I stamped up the adorable Bundle Girl Witchy and Kitty because the Bundle Girls are some of my absolute favorite SB stamps. Their simple caps and dresses are the perfect place to have some fun adding prints and patterns to really dress them up and that is just what we did with this little witch. Not only did we add a decorative band to her cap but we also created a Halloween inspired plaid on her dress. Once the witch and her kitty were all colored up we created the spooky night scene by hand and a bit of airbrushing for the sky and moon. The sentiment stamped at the bottom of the card is also included with the Bundle Girl and I left that area white so it would stand out against the dark scene. After the Live I tied some black and silver baker's twine around the card front as a nice finishing touch.  :)

Don't be a scaredy cat...

Good morning! 

We sent out the Sweet November Stamps September newsletter Saturday night and I did a special sneak peek of this month's free digi during my Live coloring earlier that day over at the Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. A Halloween Stroll is not just one digi but six coordinating images of a little witch being followed by her faithful familiars. I lined them all up on a mini slimline card front and then let my fellow crafters choose the color scheme and background. I love the rust orange and olive green combo of the witches outfit and had so much fun coloring all of the different fur patterns on the cats. The golden field was another great suggestion that lends itself to a beautiful fall day full of magic.  :)

It's a review weekend at Sweet November Stamps and I went back to the Halloween Postage Pals: Landscape set that released last year. Rather than use them with a postage collage die, this time around I stamped three of the cute trick or treaters onto small polaroid shaped die cuts. I found a fun candy themed paper in an old Doodlebug paper pack that I pulled the Copic colors from and used it as the backdrop for the polaroids. A sprinkling of coordinating candy enamel shapes and a sweet sentiment were all this card needed to be complete.  :)
