Oceans of love...

Hey there!

The theme for this month's challenge at The Greeting Farm is MerMay, so of course I had to play along. I was just waiting for my new release order to arrive with Mermaid Anya 3. I inked Anya up as soon as I got her and I added some more shells, pearls and a giant starfish to the large shells already decorating her hair, turning it into a crown. To speed up the card making process I pulled one of the A2 card front scenes from the paper pack coming to Sweet November Stamps this weekend. I color matched Mermaid Anya 3 to the colors in this background, then fussy cut and glued her to the paper. The end result is pretty seamless and oh so cute!

Toodles!

Happiness comes in waves...

Good morning!

Well, here we are... it's the fourth and final week of MerMay fun at Sweet November Stamps. The last of the new stand alone digis has been added to the store and the final MerMay progression challenge can be found in the Friends of Sweet November Stamps Facebook group. We are ending our Mermay digis with the adorable Shelby. This wide eyed cutie is wearing her hair in two long braids and she is crowned with shells and pearls. The challenge theme this week is to add a friend, so I paired Shelby with fish from the soon to be released Ebb and Flow set and a cute jellyfish from the More Mer Friends set. The Mermaid Reef digi provides the perfect backdrop for this sweet mermaid and her pals. I colored everything by hand until I got to the water, then I pulled out the Copic air brush system to add shades of blue-green to the background. I can't wait to see how everyone wraps up MerMay with this final challenge!  :)

Later gators!

Sending you oceans of love...

Hello again!

It's a review/preview weekend at Sweet November Stamps and that means the team and I are sharing new cards using past MerMay stamp releases as well as sneak peeks of some of the new clear stamps coming to the store next Saturday. For my card, I've paired one of the beautiful mermaids and her otter friend from the Mermees #2 set with a sneak peek of the new card front paper pack of pre-colored scenes that will be part of the new Sea-sational MerMay release. I will be coloring more sneak peeks at 11am PST today over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page.

Hope to see you there!  :)

Have a fin-tastic day...

Hello!

I'm back with another Scenic Saturday card to share over on the Bellariffic blog. We are still swimming our way through MerMay so I thought I would revisit one of the lovely Whimsabella mermaids that came out last year. I ultimately chose to ink up Whimsabella Mermaid Serene Seastar and some fishy friends from the older Under the Sea Creatures set.

It was Whimsabella Mermaid Serene Seastar's seated pose that got me to choose her over her sisters because her smaller size fit perfectly on this postage collage die. This allowed me to build an under the sea scene across a handful of smaller panels. In the smaller rectangles I stamped shells from the retired Little Bits Sandcastle set and fish from the Under the Sea Creatures set. I then colored each individual panel so that the backgrounds coordinated, sand at the bottom up to the rippling waves at the top. Once all of the panels were colored, I glued them onto the sand-colored card base, within the postage frame. Only then did I grab some other postage themed stamps to add the price on each 'stamp' as well as the post marks. The sentiment at the top of the card is from the Mermazing Sentiment set and a sprinkling of clear enamel dots that look like bubbles scattered across the card front  bring the whole card together.  :)

Stay crafty my friends!

Be a mermaid...

TGIF!

It ends up that I couldn't wait a whole 'nother year before getting the last of the cutie mermaids in the Mermaid Party set from CC Designs on a card. She just kept staring at me from the corner of my desk until I finally caved. The sway of her dancing pose is so fun and carefree and since I also had the postal modern press plate from The Greetery on my desk, I paired the two together for a faux post card. The post card layout also provided me with enough space to finally use this large sentiment from Colorado Craft Company on a card. I also remembered that I had this school of fish stencil so I finally put it to use when I was air brushing the water background after all the hand coloring was done. I really love how everything came together on this one and I'm so glad I didn't make her wait a year, LOL!  ;)

Have a great weekend!
