Birthday Wishes For You...

Hello again!

It's another Scenic Saturday over on the Bellarific blog and since we have welcomed in the month of May, that means it is time for a new year of flowers card featuring the Tiny Townie Garden Girls. Little Lily of the Valley represents the merry month of May and boy is she a cutie. With her puffy bloomers Miss Lily definitely looks like she is ready to welcome warmer weather. It appears we have caught her at sunrise as she busily goes about placing perfect little white bells all along the garden path. I chose that warmer color palette for the sky because I knew it would help the cool white of her flowers and clothing to pop a bit more on the card. That is also the same reason I gave her dark brown hair, with the rest of the scene being so soft and light that depth of color immediately pulls focus right to her sweet little face. These two simple color tricks; warm colors contrasting cool colors and the juxtaposition between light and dark colors are both easy ways to punch up the visual interest on even the simplest of scenes. :)

Stay crafty my friends!
